Advantages: great design, vertical ports for regular items such as memory sticks, led display Disadvantages: maybe a bit expensive but comparrison but it is quality
...have enough usb ports
(b) belkin are a respected manufacturer
(c) I liked the design
It cost me £12 when I bought it but I think that was the stores mistake as I have seen it advertised at between £19 and £24. Even at that price though this is a good piece of kit.
Bearing in mind you can get USB 2 hubs for about half the piece of this one made by companies you may have never heard of, the design and features on this device make it a very attractive ... ...a horizontal device.
The Belkin hub has indicator lights on the front showing the status of each of the devices attached in green and a red one showing the power. The hub itself is externally powered and both this and the PC connection are positioned at either end of the rear of the device. Between these two inputs are the five USB outputs.
The device sits nicely on the desk and having a black and silver finish, fits in nicely with most computer ...

Advantages: Plenty of ports, stackable, simple display Disadvantages: Yet another power lead, relativley short cable.
Im not an expert on USB hubs, so il just try to give a a good review based on my experiences of the product. I hope its helpful.
Well, what can i say appart from "its a usb hub"!. It sits under my monitor and does everything i want it to to. The hub is plug and play, so no installation needed. It does need its own power outlet, and the adaptor is fairly large. It has a pleasant appearance, and the display consists of a red LED indicating power, ... ...are 5 USB 2.0 sockets on the back and 2 on the top. I've found that the rear sockets are best for permanent connections (keyboards, mice etc) and the top 2 are useful for small devices such as Digital cameras and especially USB flash drives. When a lot of devices are connected the hub does tend to move around (through tension from the cables) so i have it blu-tacked to the desk! Occasionally my mouse is not detected upon startup, so have to unplug ...

Advantages: Fast USB 2 Hub, Ports well spaced out Disadvantages: Only for Desktop PC's really, Must have adequate PSU
...problem is avoided by the Belkin 7-port hub as the ports are well spaced out with four on one side and three on the other. There is an indicator light for each port to indicate whether it is working or not (on or off). There is no switch to turn off the hub - this would have to be done by disconnecting it from the computer or switching off the mains.
Before purchasing such a hub you should check to see if you computer is going to be powerful enough ... ...full hub with all devices functioning simultaneously will put a serious load on your PSU. Only consider buying this if your PSU is rated at 350W or above and you have no current usb devices connected to ithe computer.
The main feature that attracts people to this hub is that it is stackable. In the even you need more usb ports, just buy another hub, connect it to the one you already have and stack the new one on top. The first (base) hub is capable ...

Belkin is well known for providing great electronic components for many appliances. Their high standards are foreseen by offering huge amounts of replacement covers showing their reliability, but most of all assurance. The 7-Port hub was bought at a mere £25. I desperately needed the product as I only had two USB sockets in the tower whilst having four components that required a USB connection. I love its sleek design making it a nice attraction ... ...it is unbelievable of how it can operate so many transfers in such a small box. The lengths of the wire are long enough to reach the PC tower but I have to admit that the AC adopter wire is exceedingly longer than many other PC components. It comes with a 5 year guarantee just to assure that you are in safe hands in case of any malfunctions. I could not favour an internal hub because I find it was a bit risky, especially for a beginner who knows ...
