Ben and Jerry's representations of their ice creams on the tubs are normally quite accurate and give you a fair idea of what to expect from the contents. In this case, however, you would only be tempted by the pictures if you think that bear vomit and bear poo are the best culinary delights since delia smith baked roasted her football boots in pastry. On the back of the tub, however, are the stylised Ben and Jerry's cows who ...

...a rather odd picture of Ben and Jerry! By odd I mean they look like relics from the sixties or something, hehehe!

So there you have it, I have thought long and hard as to whether I have any qualms about recommending this and I have to say that apart from ... ...to anyone who like caramel. It’s getting a full ***** rating from me even though the chocolate could have been a wee bit better I am not going to complain (to much). It’s definitely a mega treat for the taste buds and as I only have it once a week (the ice cream not a bit of the other if you get me drift) I make the most of it and suck the tub dry. Is it orgasmic?
Almost, but not quite! It does induce a bit of a tingle though, but only to my taste ...

...is fairly unusual in the Ben and Jerry’s stakes as it focuses ALMOST entirely on one flavour (caramel). The majority of the other flavours mix together all sorts of different combinations of fruit, chocolate, caramel, nuts etc. but this one is perhaps a bit more suited to those people who prefer not to be quite so adventurous in their ice cream consumption, but still value the finer things in life when it comes to ice cream!
The ice cream itself ... ...sweetness is something at which Ben and Jerry are real experts! It is a pale golden colour and could almost be mistaken for cornish vanilla at first glance!
Throughout the ice cream are swirls of caramel sauce. These used to be so plentiful that you would get delicious little pockets of sauce which would literally flow out when you put your spoon into the ice cream, but lately they have been a little more scarce (see my Phish Food op for details!) ...

Advantages: Quite tasty Disadvantages: Not the best B & J ice cream for depth of flavours
...other day when I saw Ben & Jerry's Caramel Chew Chew ice cream on special offer. I have previously tried other Ben & Jerry ice creams and have been impressed, so was keen to try this one too.
Caramel Chew Chew is one of Ben & Jerry's less well-known ice creams. Unlike the Phish Food and Cookie Dough varieties, which are widely available and sold by many retailers, Caramel Chew Chew is more difficult to get hold of and some of you may not have heard ... ...(about 1cm in diameter) but Ben & Jerry's make up for this by giving you a generous number of them. They look quite appealing and are a bit like small Rolos.
The ice cream itself is sweet but very tasty. I don't personally find it quite as nice as the maple syrup flavoured ice cream found in B & J's 'The Full Vermonty', but I do like the chocolate caramel pieces. These are hard and chunky on the outside and soft and smooth on the inside. This all ...

...a groan to my hips. Ben & Jerry’s ice cream on special offer! Yes, you can currently buy 2 tubs of this wonderful ice cream for just £5! (Normally around £3.80 a tub). Well, how can a girl resist! But which flavours to choose – do I go for those that I have tried and trusted or should I be adventurous and try something different? Curiosity got the better of me and I ended up with a tub of Half-Baked (delicious but gone before I could ... ...of you who don’t know, Ben & Jerry are 2 friends who met at high school and, after college, decided that they could produce better ice cream than that which was commercially available. With the help of a $5 correspondence course in ice cream making, the legend of Ben & Jerry was born.
As with all B&J ice creams, Caramel Chew Chew comes in a cardboard tub. Not overly exciting, but it does the job. The real excitement comes when you peel off ...

...than the type in other Ben & Jerry's ice cream (although I'm sure it's the same thing and there is nothing wrong with their chocolate usually) but with a crispy caramel chunk in the middle, extremely nice and I found these chunks the most enjoyable part of my ice-cream. If you took the ice-cream on its own however (without all the chunks/swirls/etc) it probably wouldn't be the nicest you could find however the ice-cream isn't sold like this so this ... ...The best thing about ben and jerry's is just how much they add to an ice-cream, rather than just putting a few little bits into the ice cream like many companies seem to you instead get nice chunks of the chocolate-covered caramel and plentiful amounts of the caramel swirl as well as having the caramel taste in the ice-cream itself. Overall it was delicious and probably my third-fourth favourite ice-cream at the moment. In case you are wondering ...

...I saw the cartons of Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream on offer as ‘Buy two for £5’. There’s the special offer again – you must think I never buy anything for it’s full price!! Actually I don’t if I can help it! Incidentally the normal price for this ice cream is just over £3 for a 500ml tub.

I have also read a lot of opinions about the different flavours, almost all ... ...resulting taste sensation is glorious, Ben and Jerry manage to tread that fine line between a rich, luxurious taste and a sweet, sickly taste, and consequently it is an experience, which has to be the most fun that I have ever had with my clothes on!! I feel sure that there’s an answer to that, but we won’t go there!
There is a comprehensive list of ingredients on the side of each tub but they are far too long winded to copy out here. What is interesting ...

...across an unopened tub of Ben & Jerry’s Cheesecake Brownie Cream; there was no hesitation I grabbed the tub and a spoon and off I went. On opening the tub I was treated to a lovely cheesecake aroma; if only subtle it was delightful. Aesthetically I thought the packaging was enticing and playful. Inside it got serious. Personally I have never sampled ‘Cheesecake Brownies’ before and the concept was totally new to me. This should never be the case for anyone; having my 2 favourite desserts combined delivered an experience I would all too soon like to retry. The brownies were soft but the texture was definitely prominent against the smooth soft ice cream. Advantages: best flavour Disadvantages: bigger tub needed
...there are two flavours of Ben and Jerry's that i like the most one is cookie dough chip and the other is caramel chew chew.
Caramel Chew Chew is a luxurious vanilla ice cream that has swirls of caramel in it and if that is not good enough you will also find a chocolate cup that is filled with more caramel which are great.
There is not a lot more than you can ask for out of a 500ml tub of ice cream, all i wish for is that there is more in the tub.
... ...i think that it is well worth it and it goes great with a romantic film. If you do not want to spend that much money the supermarkets are always putting deals on this ice cream like 2 tubs for £5 or save £1 off a tub.
A great ice cream i would recommend that anyone should try this and once they do i think you will never go back to normal plain vanilla ice cream. ...

...have been a fan of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream since I travelled to the States a few times. However, I hadn’t tried this flavour until I cam back to the UK.
To describe the ice cream itself doesn’t do it justice, but here goes! It is basically vanilla ice cream with swirls of caramel mixed through. But, the best part is the little chocolate pieces (about the size of chocolate buttons I guess) FILLED with gooey caramel! Need I say more! ... ...spoon and discovering one of these delicious pieces and biting in is not to be missed! The cold ice cream, crispy chocolate and gooey caramel is a great combination and the best I have had in an ice cream to date.
The price is fairly steep at about £3.50 per tub, but the quality of the ice cream, more than makes up for it.
The packaging does buckle after a while if it gets too wet or left too long in the freezer, but mine has never been in there ...

I had a tub of this the other night.... and oh my god! It was like a wee party in my mouth! 500g tub of heaven! Once you get in to the tub (which is surprisingly hard to open) the ice cream looks lovely. I'm not as fond of any of the other flavours as they all seem to be rather sickly! Go out and try this ice-cream! (I find having a takeaway first really sets you up to enjoy it!) Leave me a comment and let me know if you enjoyed the ice cream!
