Monster Cookies For A Cookie Monster

Advantages: Tastes nice
Disadvantages: Packaging

Ben and Jerry's are having a 'Free Cone Day' today (Tuesday 25th April), but this year the Manchester outlets aren't included. To make up for the disappointment, I treated myself to some anyway, just having to pay money for it instead. Cookie Dough is one of my favourite sweet snack foods. When I bake cookies myself I have a tendency to eat half the dough when it's still raw. In America you can now actually buy pre-mixed cookie dough specifically ...
...but it's still good. Ben and Jerry's Cookie Dough Ice Cream has 3 main parts: - Vanilla ice cream which tastes silky and pure, and has a good, strong vanilla bean flavour, not at all artificial like cheaper brands tend to be. The biggest part of this product is the vanilla ice cream, but though some people find this a boring flavour, I think it is complemented well by the other ingredients. - Cookie dough chunks which are generous in size and ...

Digging for the dough

Advantages: It has cookie dough!!!
Disadvantages: It does not have enough cookie dough!!!

...of the reasons I prefer Ben & Jerry's cookie dough ice cream to the Haagen Dasz version is because the pot is easier to open. The Haagen Dasz pot comes with a plastic lid which is incredibly hard to pull off. With Ben & Jerry's, the moment you open the pot, you can start digging for the gold. I always eat my ice cream straight from the tub with a spoon. This saves washing the dishes and also makes the 'digging experience' so much more fun! I start ...
...of the vanilla ice cream, because it is a tad boring compared to the dough bits contained within it. But I suppose you cannot fault Ben & Jerry's. After all, they are in the ice cream making business, not the cookie dough making business! ***Further info*** www.benandjerrys.co.uk/ ...

If They Won't Pun, Neither Will I

Advantages: The chocolate chips and the cookie dough!
Disadvantages: Ice cream too hard and too sweet.

...Four one-scoop, 100ml pots of Ben & Jerry's later, we felt much better, but not as much better as we'd hoped. Cookie Dough is one of Ben & Jerry's most popular lines. Before we bought an ice cream maker, Kieran and I ate tons of it. It has a vanilla base with chocolate chips and chunks of raw cookie dough mixed in. This way of serving ice cream is very popular in the United States, but a relative newcomer to the more staid UK ice cream market. Haagen ...
...mix could there be? Ben & Jerry's vanilla ice cream is a very pale, nicely creamy affair. It's not what you'd call soft scoop, though, and I think you'd need to take it from the freezer for at least ten minutes before you tried to eat it. Flavours are muted at cold temperatures, especially in ice creams, and especially in ice creams whose formulations are a little too hard. Kieran and I opened our little one-person pots as soon as we left the shop, ...

COOKIE DOUGH MONSTER STRIKES AGAIN

Advantages: Scrumptious, creamy, heavenly
Disadvantages: fattening & the cookie dough chunks can be a tad dry

...I either have Ben & Jerry's or Haagen Daaz & I'm not at all fussed which one. My fave Ben & Jerry ice cream of the moment is The Full Vermonty, but I couldn't find that flavour the last time we went to get a film so I had to force myself (oh, it was hard ..) to get the Cookie Dough. I'm sinful in a double way when I eat this yummy stuff, because I've got quite an intolerance to dairy products. So not only does it expand my waistline due to the calorific ...
...stories that some of the Ben & Jerry's tubs have on them about where they got the idea for the name of the ice cream etc, but as I said the packaging for this flavour unfortunately isn't all that exciting. You can have a look at their site for more fun & frolics at www.benjerry.co.uk *~ Smell & Taste ~* When you open the lid, the smell of the ice cream certainly isn't over powering but there is a delicate, sweet vanilla scent. Definitely appealing. ...

Dough! I ate too much

Advantages: tastes gorgeous
Disadvantages: expensive

...you'll no doubt know that Ben and Jerry's is half price in Tesco at the moment at £1.89 instead of around the £3.99 mark. This in itself persuaded me to buy a tub of ice cream that i would normally walk past very quickly, as the tubs are so small I can never usually justify the guilt of buying something that wont last me very long. Cookie Dough flavour is basically vanilla ice cream with chunks of chocolate chips and pieces of uncooked dough hidden ...
...behind this flavour according to the B+J website is that apparently Americans like uncooked dough more than they like the cookies after being cooked. It's been made since 1986 and was the first ever cookie dough ice cream! My tub of 500ml looks very tiny and I know it's not going to last me too long in the freezer. The tub, made out of cardboard which upon a little bit of research I found that its made of 90% renewable paper stock coated to stop ...

...the ice cream kingdom. Ben and Jerry's without a doubt has the coolest names; and what's in the carton usually lives up to the creative titles. Haagen Daaz does not have such imaginative names for their flavours, but they serve up quality all of the time. My favourite all time flavour is Chocolate Chip cookie dough. So I put the ice cream brands of the globe to a test and Ben and Jerry's comes out as the champion of the world. There are round chucks ...
...the serving and there are actually chocolate chips in the dough. It tastes as though you could actually pull out the chunks, put them on a tray and bake little cookies (not a bad idea actually!!). The ice cream itself is vanilla, but ooooooooh, you have never had vanilla like this. It is so creamy that you have to lick your lips after every spoonful. And the problem is that it disappears so fast... even when I'm the only one eating it. This kind ...

Get Yer Gob Around This

Advantages: Creamy, cookie dough pieces
Disadvantages: Expensive, bitter chocolate pieces

...I bought three tubs of Ben and Jerry’s, which I will share with you. Of course, I’ll only share my wisdom, not the ice cream itself, so put your tongue away! My favourite ice cream is Haagen-Dazs Cookie Dough so it was natural my first choice should be the Ben and Jerry’s version – Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough (or as Ciao have put 'coc chip' - but that sounds like another op altogether!). I am not really impressed with B&J’s ...
...Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough is Ben and Jerry’s best selling flavour. Well, I wonder how many of those loyal customers would defect to Haagen-Dazs, if they tried their version? I have no doubts that, for me, Haagen-Dazs is much better than B&J’s. If you have tried both, please let me know which you preferred in the comments and which Ben and Jerry’s ice creams you would recommend. ...

...and my eldest spotted the Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. Well, it would have been mean to deny her everything, wouldn’t it! After some negotiation, we settled on a tub of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream at the slightly exorbitant price of £3.27 for a 500ml tub that I knew from past experience would only last a couple of days. But hey, it’s the holidays and my patience was wearing thin so what the hell! For those of you who don’t ...
...cream making, the legend of Ben & Jerry was born. As with all Ben & Jerry’s ice creams, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough comes in a cardboard tub. Not overly exciting, but it does the job. The real excitement comes when you peel off the lid… Inside is a lovely creamy white ice cream, which, by the time you get home from the shops, is melting just nicely! Now is the best time to dig in a spoon, when it is all soft and melting and gorgeous! ...

...heard many people talk about Ben & Jerry's ice cream, but, until a few weeks ago, I'd never tried it. However, when we got a pizza take away, we got some ice cream too. This ice cream was made by Ben & Jerry's, the famous ice cream brand, and you might have already guessed by now that the flavour was Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. THE PACKAGING AND PRICE: I payed a rather expensive price of £3.95 for a 500ml tub of ice cream. I bought it from a Pizza ...

On the back of the tub, comes the the dreaded ingredients. According to the pack, the ice cream contains27.8% cream, and 15.88% cookie dough. Also in the ingredients list is sugar (sugar comes up 4 times on the ingredients list!) and chocolate chips, among ...

Worth the lifetime on the hips.

Disadvantages: are there any disadvantages to ice cream?

...of a huge tub of Ben and Jerry's Cookie Dough ice cream, my mood suddenly lifted, I can't imagine why. I had high hopes as Ben and Jerry's is my favourite brand of ice cream and although I'd never tried this flavour I trusted that it would be as good as all the others. I got a few dodgy looks from the nurses when Iasked for two spoons but they were brought quickly and me and Heath settled down to an afternoon of indulgence. The £3.00 that she paid ...
...was the most delicious ice cream that I have ever tasted. It was vanilla with chocolate sauce swirls and huge chunks of chocolate chip cookie dough. Believe me, they were very generous with the dough. I can't stand food that promises something and then doesn't deliver but there was no need to worry with this, there were more than enough chunks of dough for Heath and I to gorge ourselves on. The packaging was bright and vibrant and the smell when ...

Ben and Jerry's Is Not Suitable For Children, Hide It!

Advantages: Fab taste and smell.
Disadvantages: Lots of fat, very moreish!

It was 1986 when Ben and Jerry’s first came up with the idea of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream. It really was a brainwave. It took them another five years to perfect it and it first became available to the public in 1991. (Now how’s that for the perfect job: Ben and Jerry’s ice cream tester?) It was, of course an instant success. What it basically is, is vanilla ice cream with lumps of chocolate chip cookie dough. The story behind its development ...
...top scoring flavour on the Ben and Jerry’s chart is Pumpkin Cheesecake, but not here in UK, of course! There are supposed to be four servings per container but I suppose that depends on how greedy you are. One 104g (or half a cup) serving has 270 calories and 14g fat, plus 80mg of salt and 24g sugar. Not exactly a healthy treat, so perhaps it’s best not to dwell on the small print on the back of the carton if you feel guilty about it. You can find ...

The Cookie Monster

Advantages: Lovely ice cream
Disadvantages: Very moreish

...in a school gym class, Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield found they hated running but loved food. Years later in '78, Ben had been fired from a series of McJobs while Jerry had failed for the second time to get into medical school. So, armed with a $5 correspondence course in ice cream making, they opened their first scoop shop in a dilapidated gas station in Burlington, Vermont." They soon became popular in the local community for the finest all natural ...
...relied on what he called 'mouth feel', so big chunks of chocolate, fruit and nut became their signature. While they disagreed at times over the chunk size, they did agree that they wanted to enjoy themselves - as Jerry put it 'if it's not fun, why do it?' In the early days the boys were pretty bad at book-keeping. After two months they closed the store and hung a sign that said 'we're closed to figure out whether we're making any money'. And they ...

...I'm a great fan of Ben and Jerry's, it makes me feel better when I can't stop at half a pot, and eventually see the bottom that Ben and Jerry use only the freshest finest ingredients. Ben and Jerry's is categorised as a "Luxury" ice cream- obviously! This is because there is less air in it than cheaper ice creams which makes it more creamy , you can tell this when you compare cheaper supermarket ice cream to luxury ice creams such as this ! This ...

I Can't Go Back To Other Ice Creams!

Advantages: Creamy Icecream with lumps of dough!
Disadvantages: Bit expensive...

Me and my boyfriend are totally addicted to this ice cream! He'd had it loads of times before, but my first experience with it was when he ordered it with a pizza delivery. I already knew I love cookie dough, as I always used to sneak into the kitchen when my nan was making cookies and grab a couple of chunks of the dough to eat. Anyway, after trying the choc-chip cookie dough ice cream for the first time I became shamelessly addicted (and probably ...

I have tried other ice-creams that contain cookie dough, but have found none to be quite so good as this. The chocolate chips are great to crunch on and get stuck in your teeth, leaving you sitting there licking the last remnants out when you are done ...
