Ben and Jerry’s ice cream. Always coming up as one of the favourites in the Ciao challenge ‘favourite ice cream’ question, and I have to admit to being rather partial to a tub myself from time to time. So as my answer to that particular challenge question is ‘the homemade variety’ I was quite pleased when browsing through the recipe section of the bookshop I came across a Ben and Jerry’s recipe book. Fantastic, so for the princely sum of £7.99 the ... ...all that is great about Ben and Jerry.

This section contains all of their best sellers in their shops in the States, I’m not going to list the lot but it contains things like Raspberry, Mint Oreos and New York Super fudge Chunk. Advantages: great ice cream recipes Disadvantages: wonderfully fattening!
...No, my heart belongs to Ben & Jerry. Don’t know who they are? Well, they are Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield who between them have come up with some of the best ice cream around.
This book is a must for anyone who loves making their own ice cream – I was given it as a gift along with an ice cream maker and it has been well used.
The book starts with an introduction to Ben & Jerry, who met in 7th grade gym class and have been friends ... ...the doors of the first Ben & jerry’s ice cream parlour on 5 May 1978 and haven’t looked back.
Next, the book moves onto the theory of ice cream making – bases, sweeteners and flavourings. And then we are into the heart of the book – the recipes.

Advantages: You can make ALL your favourite icecreams and learn how to experiment! Disadvantages: A lot easier and less time consuming if you own an Icecream maker
...watering recipes, and if your a ben & jerry's fan, enough said. The recipes are easy to follow and there are tips on making it if using an icecream maker or doing it by hand.
