In my opinion this is the nicest ice - cream in the world.

Advantages: Delicious,nicely packaged
Disadvantages: None except that it is slightly expensive but it is worth it In my opinion

...the other products from the Ben and Jerry's range it is very attractively designed. You will see a lot of the colour purple on it and this varies from deep purple to a light and quite bright purple. The two colours blend in together perfectly and fit in with the lid. Which is coloured just like the rest of the carton except it is black around the rim. You will also see picture's of chocolate shaped like a fish on the left and right. The pictures ...
...top you will see the Ben and Jerry's logo. You will see the same one in their ice cream and coffee houses, proudly written above the door. The only difference is that those letters are huge and these are small but that doesn't make the carton any less inviting than the shop is to walk into. When you open the carton you will be greeted with the strong and very pleasant scent off chocolate and caramel. Although there are other ingredients present inside ...

Do NOT feed this to your prized tropical fish

Advantages: Absolutely divine

Ben & Jerry's Phish Food Ice-Cream - why didn't I discover this before now ? Oh my god, it's sex in a pot - no, it's even better than that. This is heaven. -> Quick Intro... It's Friday evening. I've had a crap day in the office and to top things off, we have no food in so I have to call in at Sainsburys on my way home to get something for tea. I wander round the aisles, end up near the freezer section with nothing but Heat magazine and some bread ...
...-> OK, so who are Ben & Jerry ?? Bennett Cohen and Jerry Greenfield were both born in Brooklyn, New York in 1951. They met in 7th grade gym class at school in Merrick, Long Island in 1963. With a $12,000 investment ($4,000 of it borrowed), Ben and Jerry open their Ben & Jerry’s Homemade ice cream scoop shop in a renovated gas station at the corner of St. Paul and College Streets in downtown Burlington, Vermont, on May 5, 1978. In 1983, the first ...

Ben & Jerry Fish Food - part II

Advantages: Rich and chocolatey
Disadvantages: Too chocolatey

...I will mostly be reviewing BEN & JERRY'S PHISH FOOD. Part of the reason for this is that I was challenged by the delicious Yummy87 to write an op - the Bigyummyangel Challenge. The choices were: any ice-cream, advice on high blood pressure, or Babycham. The choice was obvious. But as I didn't come across any Babycham in Asda, I thought I'd scoff a tub of calorie-laden cold stuff and hopefully dramatically increase my blood pressure in the process ...
...Ben & Jerry are well known as quality ice-cream makers, with such cleverly entitled flavours such as: The Full Vermonty, Karamel Sutra and Cherry Garcia. • But what's in a name? • Phish Food comes in a bluey, purply tub with pictures of little phish and the name of the product emblazoned across the front in a kind of wishy-washy writing. So, no excuses for not being able to spot it in the freezer and confusing it with a tub of Tubifex! Also on the ...

Phishing for compliments

Advantages: Delicious, very chocolatey
Disadvantages: Expensive, hard to get out of the tub

I hate Ben & Jerry’s! Why? They have raised my ice cream standards so far that nothing else will do (well, apart from a few other horrifyingly expensive luxury makes, that is). Before I go any further and try and convince you into living on this wonderful food, I must say that I am a chocoholic with a very sweet tooth, so you may wish to bear these traits in mind whilst reading. First things first, why on earth would any ice cream be called Phish ...
...after an American band that Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield like. To find out more about this pair of entrepreneurs, you can either read their book Ben & Jerry’s Double Dip (which I am just about to) or visit their website at www.benjerry.com. The website is full of fun things, and kids would love it. You can get regular news e-mails and be notified of special offers if you sign up for their ‘chunk mail’ - LOL. It also explains about their ethics ...

Disadvantages: a bit too sickly, expensive

...the options, I decided on Ben and Jerry’s Phish food, which cost £3.50 in Asda for a small tub of 500ml. I had read some great opinions on this and especially remember the recommendation from my good friend, Hannah (hpoulton). Her opinion was absolutely mouth-watering and finally convinced me to try Ben and Jerry's Phish Food flavoured ice-cream. This is the first time I have tried Ben and Jerry’s ice-cream, Haagen-Dazs being my favourite ...
...much of America. Ben and Jerry seem to be two blokes – one of whom has a penchant for silly hats. Together, they look like a 1970s folk duo, but still, they have good ideas when it comes to ice-cream, and that’s what’s important. Check out their website for more details, at (predictably) www.benjerry.co.uk The ice-cream is a mixture of tastes and textures, which make it something completely unique. I have never seen or ate another ...

This Little Phishy Went To Market.

Advantages: The chocolate ice cream is very nice and the packaging is eye catching!
Disadvantages: To expensive - and you can read the review for the rest of my complaints :((

...I spotted the Ben & Jerry’s selection and remembered a rather good op written by Solex (a fellow ciao member). He was reviewing the Phish Food flavour, so as I’d not tried this I decided to give it a whirl. Price Around the same price as Haagen Dazs £3.50 ish for 500ml but you can buy it for £3.27 in your local Tesco or Asda (if you have one). I find this a bit on the steep side for the amount you actually get. Like I said in my last ice-cream ...
...purple shade and has the Ben & Jerry’s logo on the front and lid, also the name of the product (obviously) and a short description of what your taste buds are in store for. On the back of the tub it lists the ingredients and storage instructions in three languages. English French and I’m not to sure of the third. In comparison to other ice-cream products, this is a hit in the visual taste bud department (well they do say you eat with your eye’s ...

Ben and Jerry are Ice Cream gods

Advantages: Utterly, utterly delicious
Disadvantages: A bit pricey

...of chocolate and this, some Ben and Jerry's ice cream. Now I am going to write this op as I make my way down the tub pf ice cream, so can give you the full experience. The tub - One thing americans have been good at is giving us, good sized tubs of ice cream. For some reason we go for blocks of the stuff, instead the Americans pack their ice cream - to the top - full of the stuff. Although it's not big, it's an excuse for eating it all yourself ...
...French company Phish, which run Ben and Jerry's, so don't be put off - it's not Salmon flavoured ice cream or something. As far as foods that can stimulate the taste buds and delight the stomach, it don't 'arf hurt the wallet. The only real reason I bought this was because it was on special offer, but normally a price of £3.27 for a 500ml tib of ice cream is a little steep for something you can get three times more of for less that £1.50. But it ...

...when I first came across Ben and Jerry’s Phish Food ice-cream. Why would you mix those foul smelling little flakes that as a child I used to feed to my two pet goldfish, Tarzan and Killer Whale (May 1975 to August 1976 RIP), with that most wonderful of summer delights ice-cream. The riddle was solved thanks to a TGI Friday menu, which explained the real nature of the contents so when I noticed it on special offer (buy two for £5) I decided to give ...
...of Ben and Jerry ice-cream especially Cherry Garcia flavour. The two partners started their ice-cream empire in rural Vermont in 1978 and have been churning out imaginatively titled ice-cream ever since. They rely heavily on marketing with the product pitched at those looking for a trendy image when selecting their ice-cream but they back this up with some great tasting quality flavours that unfortunately come at a price premium. ...of this exotic ice cream, Ben and Jerry’s Phish Food, during a recent supermarket visit. Not that I particularly minded, mark you, as she had also recently introduced me to the pleasures of the brand on a visit to the local cinema. But my eyes did water a little when I checked the sales slip, and discovered that it had cost a whopping €6.01 (about £4.24 Sterling) for a 500ml tub!! ~ ~ The name is very descriptive, don’t you think? ...

I’d read a few opinions here at Ciao before about Ben and Jerry’s ice cream, but have to say I was amazed when I clicked on the food Category to discover that there are no less than SIXTEEN different and multifarious flavours listed for the brand. Most of the others have some pretty weird ...

...spoon and a tub of Ben & Jerrys Phish Food and you’ll see me happily gobbling the stuff and finishing the tub in probably less than 10 minutes. Being the kind of bloke that I am, I always think someones gonna come along and supposedly help me eat it, what everyone hasn’t realised is that I don’t need any help, I’m quite capable of eating this myself thankyou, but they insist, and often, although I hate sharing this ice cream, ...
...a treat. In my opinion Ben & Jerrys beat Hagen Daaz hands down, just because the ice cream is so crazy! However, the two ice creams are very similar. They are in the posh class of ice creams, the ice creams that have a bit of an edge, the ice cream in the millionaires club of ice cream classes, apart from those home made clotted cream ones, but they are just way to expensive and come in boring flavours! Compared to Haagen Dazs, Ben & Jerrys have ...

Advantages: Yummy!!!

...these days I stick to Ben and Jerry’s, Haagen Dazs and occasionally Walls Carte D’Or. That way I know I won’t be disappointed. But Ben and Jerry’s is my favourite – and Phish Food is my favourite Ben and Jerry’s. The main element of Phish Food is chocolate ice cream – but not just any chocolate ice cream. Ben and Jerry’s chocolate ice cream is like none other! It is rich, creamy (they use double cream as a main ingredient in all their ice creams) and cocoa-y, but not too sweet (so you can eat LOADS of it!) and actually tastes ...

...from the same town as Ben N Jerrys (Vermont). To celebrate their joint heritage, they named a product after them. As a piece of marketting, it's a weird name, which made me think of fish flakes and other aquatic tastes, but it also intrigued me, and led me on to take a try, which is a piece of ingenious marketting if you think about it. I wouldn't say one pot is enough for more than two people at a push, but it is certainly more than enough for one (who likes to eat a lot) and ample for two. INGREDIENTS: Each pot is 15% marshmallow, 10% caramel, and 7.5% chocolately fish. The remaining 67.5% is ice-cream. It's 13% fat, which is a lot. Low fat is considered to be around 4.5% fat content, so ...

Advantages: Different to your normal chocolate ice-cream
Disadvantages: Too expensive to eat regularly

...look at a tub of Ben & Jerry's ice cream to know it's going to be exciting inside. Forget your supermarket own-brand chocolate ripple... or the daring triple-choc varieties... Phish Food is an entirely new experience. Made in the USA, this is 500ml of ice-cream that you will remember for a long time after you've eaten it, and not just because it just set you back £3.79! Disadvantages: It's expensive.

...that was until I discovered Ben and Jerry's during a sordid visit to my Local UCI. This particular flavour is my current favourite along with Chocolate Fudge Brownie (are we sensing a theme here yet?).
