Not only is my skin blue, but it is also shiny! I know, you have a mental picture of a smurf now and maybe you wouldn't be that far wrong. The blue skin is a Scottish thing(see "you rebel" op) and the shiny part is just a fact of life for most of us gals who live in the real world. I am one of those women who dread the lights coming up at the end of the night- no not cos of the choice of my companion!, simply because my carefully placed make-up of six hours ago is making a bid for freedom and has slid its way down my face in a most unattractive way. So,what do I do to avoid looking like a ... more

Advantages Advantages Evens out skin tone, Reduces redness and blemishes

Disadvantages Disadvantages Expensive, As you run out it starts to crumble!

Oh Benefit, that truly magnificent range, if I had £500 to spend in Boots or Debenhams I’d blow it all here – and the awful thing is I wouldn’t have any change or any problem in spending all that money! There’s just so many products I want so I’ve started to limit myself to one a month. I obviously have the odd slip up here and there such as when I’m having a fat day it makes sense to buy 2, or when I get dumped I have to buy 3 to save me from suicide! I’ve been cursed with uneven skin tone, I think most of us women have… and men for that matter too! My cheeks are a little pink at times, my ... more

Advantages Advantages Better than Concealor & Foundation, Pure & Even Skin Tone in a simple step!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Once again... you know what I'm gonna say... price!

Yet again, another op devoted to the heaven sent range of Benefit, you all must be thinking it surely can’t be too long before I run out of products to talk to – either that or I reach the end of my overdraft! Well the England games on on every single TV in our house, my boyfriend’s out watching it at the pub so I find myself a bit of a loner and the only thing that can remotely cheer me up is Benefit! Ah yes Benefit, the girl on the counter in my local store knows my name and I swear she sees my coming, does her best selling approach and gets me hook line and sinker every single time! And due ... more

Advantages Advantages Very good at concealing patchy skin.

Disadvantages Disadvantages None really, Expensive, but will last months.

It’s my mate’s Hen Night tomorrow night, and since we’re all wearing funny T-shirts, I didn’t need to spend any cash on a new outfit this week,. As usual when I feel I’ve saved a little bit of money, I head to the Benefit counter in Debenhams, to reward myself. Illogical, I know, but that’s just the way I look at things. Life’s to short to fret over spending copious amounts of money on little boxes of make-up; so I rarely feel guilty. My latest purchase was ‘Get Even.’ I have oily skin, and I’ve just about run out of my translucent powder, I was looking for a replacement, so after a few ... more

WOW WOW WOW!!!!! What more can I say but WOW!!!!!!! You know I know I love Benefit product by now ! Advantages Advantages great coverage, eliminates shine, long-lasting

Disadvantages Disadvantages the price, can be easy to overapply

Benefit's Get Even Powder is a product which promises not only to zap shine away, but also to even the skin tone and conceal minor blemishes. I LOVE THIS PRODUCT!! The packaging is, as always with Benefit, cute but still stylish and the compact itself is black with a subtle lasered pattern on the lid. The powder comes with a little applicator which I chose to immediately discard, as I much prefer to use a brush. Upon my first use of the powder, I was really impressed with the level of coverage it gave - high, but didn't make the face look chalky in the slightest. One thing I would say is that ... more

Advantages Advantages Fantastic coverage, colour and staying power

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Expensive

I first tried "Get Even" after my (then) boyfriend bought me a selection of Benefit products last Christmas. I must say, this is now one of my must-have beauty products. I simply could not do without it. The product comes in a basic black circular compact with a mirror and also comes neatly packaged in a cardboard box . The actual powder weighs 11grams but a little goes a long way and just one compact lasts me about 6months. There are only 3 shades of this product, a light, medium and dark. I am mixed race and have an olivey/yellowish skin tone and the medium is just perfect for my skin, I ... more

Advantages Advantages Great coverage, takes away any redness and shine

Disadvantages Disadvantages Price (as usual), can look too heavy sometimes

I decided to give this a go after having a period of seriously bad skin. My spots were not going away, so I thought damn it, i'll just try and hide them instead. I have been a fan of benefit's for a while, but due to to the expensive products, have never really owned vast amounts of the stuff. However, this powder is defiantly worth the £21 (or thereabouts) it cost me. As soon as you blot it on, you can see the difference straight away, and it does make a visible difference. Shine, redness, blemishes, all disappear. Im not a heavy make-up wearer, so this can tend to look quite heavy (too me ... more
