    AVOID BESTPRICEDBRANDS if you want a trouble-free, transparent internet buying process. This is the dodgiest company I have ever had dealings with - they are plain cheats. There is also doubt as to whether they are genuinely a UK company too. I ordered an Apple iPod from this company on 30 July on the basis of their clearly advertised "all-in" price, asking for delivery by my son's birthday, 6 August.     Here is my experience with BestPricedBrands. Ordered a Nokia N800 from them on Sunday 4th November late evening. Item stated 24-48 hour dispatch. As item not dispatched by Wednesday Evening, I thought I would phone them and see if everything was OK. No contact phone number on the BestPricedBrands site, also no address. Now I was getting conserned. Did a quick Google search for BestPricedBrands, and Google lit up like a Christmas tree with a huge number of complaints and cries of SCAM.     Best Priced Brands are an American outlet that is portraying itself as a UK based outlet. It's web site shows UK branding for products, and prices in Sterling. However, you will not find any contact details other than an e-mail address. They are able to undercut most genuine UK outlets because they do not have to pay or pass on tax. They blatantly mislabel product packaging in order to deceive HM Revenue & Customs. If HMRC open your package you will be faced will a tax charge and a charge for collecting the tax.     STAY CLEAR FROM FOUL MOUTHED CUSTOMER SERVICES After waiting over a week for delivery of a camera , I sent several emails as no phone number on the website. Finally got a reply which said ship next week and no reason for the delay . Not good enough so I kept forwarding the same email about 25 times for a response as to why the delay and needed an explanation.     They should say that the goods are not sourced from the UK ! I bought a laptop computer a few months ago. Not only is the use of the electrical adapter quite painful as it falls off all the time but most scandalous was the following: My computer had a technical problem that prevented it from turning on. No problem, I thought, I am still under warranty. However as the computer was a US one it couldn't be repaired in Europe but had to be shipped to the US (very expensive as you can imagine).     Okay l wanted a nintendo ds for my partner for christmas,my brother in law ordered it and paid £150.00 on his credit card. It can't be said we are asking to be ripped off by going to this site because £150.00 was well over the retail price.l couldn't get one anywhere else.That was on the 10th December on the 23rd l began to panic especially when l looked at the reviews and realised it was an american site not uk as implied.     I ordered two nintendo DS bundles, gold and white and a red nintendo DS on its own at the beginning of December through sheer desperation as no shop in the UK appeared to have any. I was kept up-to-date through email regarding my order status and eventually received a package from UPS on Christmas eve (I was guaranteed delivery before Christmas).     BEWARE THIS TRADER! I purchased a Panasonic DMC TZ3 camera - thought I was buying from a UK company, but subsequently found out it was coming from the US. Best Priced Brands says delivery in 24-48 hours, but I had to wait one week, and that was after prompting them with an e-mail. When the camera arrived, it was a Japanese version, Japanese box, manuals (not a word of English) & warranty, not valid in the UK.     Avoid this site at all costs. I purchased a Nintendo DS Lite from them for my daughter. It was well over priced but it was xmas time so I had little choice as they were sold out everywhere. The item arrived on time as stated. I was concerned when the shipping invoice stated the value was $25 for DS Software (obviously to avoide custom tax). The item was faulty and I emailed them as that is their only method of contact.     Well after complaining about this company a miracle happened! I got a reply form my many e-mails I had sent (they probably got fed up with their in-box being bombarded by me), They promised to send out my missing game or refund me and to my amazement I was refunded the full amount of the game very quickly. This might have had something to do with my last e-mail accussing them of theft and that I was willing to get the police involved, So all in all despite very slow respnse to e-mails my experince with this company could have been worse and thats why despite my good fortune on the stength of ... more
