Bid up tv and its sister channels, price-drop tv and speed auction, which are all part of 'sit-up channels'.
They are shopping channels which are easy to view and easier to order from.
**WHERE IS IT?**
Bid-up tv is found on freeview channel 23, Virgin channel 745 and Sky channel 644.
**WHAT IS IT?**
It is a shopping channel which sells everything from Kitchen essentials, like pots and pans, plates, crockery, to electrical equipment, like television, ... ...price.
Each lot is sold in quantities, depending on what is in stock. It is aired for as long as it takes for the quantity to sell.
Who ever buys will always pay the final lowest price when the product sells out. ** THE SHOW**
Firstly, there are different presenters working through out the day and into the small hours. They all do a good job in 'selling' the product they have at the time.
The presenter will chat through out the product airing, ...

There is something about the British character that causes some awful selective blindness about everything that we do. Some mental ragged remnant of the British Empire that makes us believe, despite all evidence to the contrary, that we have the best football, cricket and rugby teams in the world. We make the best cars, ships and chocolate. Our railways are a by-word for reliability and our policemen are brave, incorruptible, loyal public servants. ... ...am as ready as the next man to don the rose-coloured spectacles, but that last one is giving me real problems. Was it ever true? When I look back to the supposed golden age of television, the sixties and the seventies, what do I see. For every ‘Steptoe and Son’ there was a ‘Love Thy Neighbour’ and ‘On The Buses’, for every ‘Morecambe and Wise’ a ‘’Little and Large’ and ‘Cannon and Ball’ (if you’re too young to remember these don’t worry, you missed ...

Bid TV is a lot of fun.
I was talking to someone recently who told me that Bid TV and it's sister service, Price Drop were "not very good." How did he know this? It seemed that someone who he knew had read something in a newspaper. Or something, or other. He was very hazy on the details. And the more we talked, the clearer it became that he really was not talking from a position based on knowledge!
Several weeks later I started watching Bid TV ... ...a Digital tuner for our TV set and had been flicking through the channels.
The first thing I noticed was that the auction staff were very friendly and had obviously been chosen for their friendly natures and their ability to work under pressure and without a script and with no teleprompt device! These two channels are great to watch, even if you do not buy anything, as they are the only examples of entertaining live TV that I can think of. Things ...

...(QVC, Shop!, Ideal World, Screenshop) Bid-up.tv has to be the best because of it's unique auction-style shopping and it's HUGE savings on products.
At first, the concept maybe quite hard to follow (especially if you have never used an auction before) but it's really easy to use and you will soon become completely addicted! E.g There are 5 televisions at a RRP of £200.00 but Bid-up will start the bidding at £20.00. Once there are 5 or more bidders ... ...have to 'bid-up' if you want the product. They also run great adverts showing how to 'play' and after watching these a couple of times you will soon become an auction expert.
They have fantastic brand name products which go for virtually next to nothing. The shopping hours are:
Switched on: You will find everthing here including televisions, videos, DVD players, MP3 players, Mini-disc players, camcorders and plenty more.

...the usual, mainstream items.
bid-up.tv has taken that concept and evolved and expanded it. On no other channel or web site can anything even close to bid-up.tv be found. The products are totally unique, the presenters not only come across as friendly, funny and knowledgable, but you really can choose the price you want to pay.
bid-up.tv is just that - an auction on your TV. I have done most of my Christmas shopping from there this year!
Something ... ...health and beauty to jewellery, bid-up.tv have always had the product I have required. Their product range doesn't seem to stagnate either. Whereas some shopping channels sell the same products for months on end, I have always found that bid-up.tv always renew and update the products on offer.
Bidding for the products is not only unique, it's also fun. Watching the price rise and hoping that I won't be outbid makes buying the items seem enjoyable ...

...--------- INTRODCUTION ---------
bid-up.tv is slightly different to conventional shopping in the fact that you pay ‘what you want to pay’ for the goods and not an actual asking price. It sounds interesting doesn’t it? So what’s the catch? Well they only have a certain number of the specified items for auction per day and if you’re not one of the highest bidders, you don’t get one.
For those of you that weren’t fully awake during my last sentence, ... ...never hear of again. bid-up.tv is different, you know where and whom you bought the goods from and you can actually return the item if there’s a problem or even if you simply don’t like it.
~~~~~~~~~~ Now that I’ve introduced you to bid-up.tv I hope you’ll stay with me for the rest of the opinion as I talk you through how to join and get the most from the fascinating world of this live interactive auction channel ~~~~~~~~~
It was about a year ago I had heard a woman talking about a certain TV channel where she had saved so much money and become so addicted that she had to stop watching the channel. She told me those 3 digits and then my life was officially taken over. That magic number is 647 for sky viewers. These numbers are not just any numbers but the key to the channel that is.... bid up tv. So, it did start a year ago and I think that is now enough experience ... ...is that items will come up and you bid for them hoping to win. There is bid up tv and price drop tv both run by the same company and have more recently started to become similar. So there are a range of items sold from tables, towels, to clothing it really is a wide variety. All are put up with a guide price which some may say is not true but I have noticed some items they claim to be hundreds of pounds really are so it is not a lie. When I first ...
The good thing about bidding on the website is the feature which allows you ... ...these things for £30 on bid-up.tv thinking they had a great saving. WRONG!! An ARGOS or INDEX catalogue is a great asset when comparing the recommended bid-up.tv price with the real world price. Bid.tv. What went wrong, there was a time when we had a beautiful relationship. I used to tune in and buy all the time, I bought clothes from you, towels and pans and toys and film cels and I always thought I was getting a bargain. But then you betrayed me. There I was happily sitting in my house waiting for my Gianni Sabatini watch to come via your trusted courier service that usually 7 - 10 days, and it came within 2 days. Some people in Ciao-land ... ...post. 8 bleedin quid for a stamp. My heart sank and my eyes welled. The postage cost more than the damned watch. If it had come by courier I wouldn't have complained. It's a bit more personal when you have to get up off the settee and open the door to find a burly delivery person on your doorstep with a two tooth smile and a spring in the step.
I would assume that this is only now used for the smaller items, but delivery charges now start from £7.99 ...
Bid-up TV is based on exactly the same format as the other two shopping channels (Price-drop TV, QTV) I have on my Freeview box. A relentlessly enthusiastic, but hopelessly, or deliberately?, amateurish commentary runs over a succession of obscure jewellery, hideous clothes, ridiculously expensive beauty products or jewellery of dubious quality.
I envy the job of the presenter myself. Imagine having to ad-lib drivel about how wonderful this latest ... ...zirconia earring is. They do a pretty impressive job considering.
On bid-up TV, most of them seem to hail from Edinburgh, judging by their accents and there is a rather freaky pair of twins who giggle at each other incessantly.
Then again, the point of the channel is not entertainment, it is simply to get people to part with their hard earned cash in return for some cheap tat.
I have honestly never been tempted to pick up the phone and actually ...
