Big Brain Academy For All You Clever People!!

Advantages: Great gameplay and fun activities
Disadvantages: Can get a bit repetitive

...test first to see how big your brain is and learn how to do everything. The games are very fun and enjoyable, also great for ALL of the family. At the start you will find that children have bigger brains because they are quicker with the remote, but with a bit of practice adults do normally turn out better. This game is great for keeping your mind active! So a great educational game for your children! Also for adults it keeps your minds working ...

In each of these 5 activities, you have 3 different games which test your brain. The quicker you answer them and ...

Big Brain Academy

Advantages: Simple, colourful, amusing
Disadvantages: Not much to it

...such as Brain Training and Big Brain Academy on the DS, Nintendo obviously realised they were onto a winner with their claims of games that can actually help to improve memory and knowledge. Therefore here's a review of Big Brain Academy, Nintendo's first attempt at brain training/memory games on the motion sensing Wii. Big Brain Academy is an extremely simple game. There's not exactly very much to it and you could easily complete all that the game ...
...is where the addictiveness in Big Brain Academy comes from - the desire to get all gold medals. Let's look at the games: IDENTIFY Whack Match: In this game, you are given some symbols at the top of the screen. They can be flowers, foods, any random thing. Moles will pop up from holes holding items - some of which are the symbols at the top of the screen, some of which aren't. The idea is to hit the moles that are holding the correct symbols. ...

Flex your brain the fun way!

Advantages: Good games, easy for kids
Disadvantages: None

Big Brain Academy - Flex your brain the fun was with family and friends. This game, in my opinion is a great game for adults and children alike. We've had it for a while now and play it from time to time as its great fun and we still haven't bored of it. The great thing about this game is that it is for kids 3+ and up and is a great learning tool as well as fun. It's always good as an adult as well to keep the old brain ticking over and this I think ...
...Big Brain is a game that measures your brain's weight by utilising a set of games and puzzles to solve. When you fist start the game you pick your Mii character (I always think its great fun to be able to play with your Mii character, especially as mine looks freakily like me!) and then enrol in the academy... The Mii character is then set as the photo on your student record book. The controls for this game are very easy. You use the Wii remote by ...

Brain Traning - "For teh kidz"

Advantages: Fun in short burst, Colourful, Entertaining.
Disadvantages: No long term appeal, a term off for gamers.

...: Making quality games. Big Brain Academy is a spin off of the more serious Brain training, and at it's roots are a series of simple puzzles meant to increase your brain power. Will it truely make you more intelligent? Who knows? But damn will you be able to pick out a cartoon donkey from miles away. We all know thats what counts. The menus are clean and crisp, and the cute visuals (For example, the animals on some of the mini games) will appeal ...
...this game will know that Big Brain Academy consists of numerous tests that determine your 'Brain weight'. Heavier being better. This may make some adults cringe as they'll see it's a gimmick however, again, children will lap this up as the fictional character 'Dr Lobe' takes them through their ' Wii Degree'. There’s no getting away from the fact this is an easy game, for adults they will Whizz through this and achieve a huge brain weight after a ...

Big Brain Shelf life??

Advantages: MiniGames that anyone can play, Good 2+ mode which saves the same, Fun presentation
Disadvantages: Limited excitement, needs more to entertain, annoying sequences in-between games with headteacher!

One of the first features that you are made aware of with this game is the fact that the game is Mii data compatible. This is a lovely way to again use/play with the mii’s that were creating them for games such as WiiSports and WiiPlay. This allows the game to store/save all your data in a student record books, which has your Mii face on it. I am not a DS owner whoever I had played the game on a friends and enjoyed it and hence why I went out and ...
...which is currently at the cheaper end of the gaming market and to a certain extent it needs to be. It is very similar in the terms of layout to the DS version, but I was expecting a lot lot more from the Wii version. I wouldn’t really call this a video game, more of a mental/brain task game. Like the DS version the solo game is spilt into ‘test’ and ‘practise’. The practice area is spilt into five separate areas categorised as "Think", "Memorize", ...

Big Brain Academy - Wii

Advantages: fun, educational, good value for money
Disadvantages: more difficult for younger players

Nintendo wii - Big brain academy : This game is great value for money and is one of the cheapest nintendo wii games i have seen. Priced anything between £15 and £20 i'd say it is fantastic value for money. I purchased this about 4 months ago now and i'm still hooked. I wouldn't say i play it every day but i do try to have a go at least once a week. Not only is this game great fun but you do learn whilst playing it. I love to have a go as it gives ...
...and gives me a real mental workout! You have the choice of playing mini games or working on your profile to see how your score is getting better. I love doing both. I work on my stats to give me the much needed practice to outsmart my dear husband! It's great to see his face when i beat him. From memorise to visualise, compute to identify and not to forget analyse, everyone will find their strong and weak points. For me my memory isn't too good ...

The REAL Family Feud: Big Brain Academy (Wii)

Advantages: Absolutely wonderful multiplayer for the family. A major party game
Disadvantages: Weak singleplayer once you get it down.

...immense popularity of "Brain Age", Big Brain Academy for the Nintendo Wii is the same mind game, but now expanded on for the whole family as well as friends to join along. Yes, indeed, now you truly can prove that you are smarter than a college graduate and your parents aren't smarter than a couple of grandparents.......hopefully that sounds right. Onto the review, my fellow classmates. Idea: Big Brain Academy introduces the plot that the ...
...the headmaster of the academy, puts you through multiple mental questions to challenge your mind's capacity of knowledge and accuracy. Graphics: Cutesy 2-D animations fill the screen as all characters show off the power of the Wii as much as is possible for this type of game. However, graphics do not mean much in this game, as it is the gameplay that is more interesting. Gameplay: As is usual, solving the tests and moving quickly is rather fun, ...

Brain Academy is GREAT!

Advantages: Feeling really intelligent and is lots of fun!
Disadvantages: Teacher talks *way* too much. Would like more categories.

...categories and get a really big brain! You can go on the practice mode and earn medals for how good you do, as well as the teacher telling you how much your brain weighs so you can monitor how well you are doing. On the brain test, which tells you the size of your brain and how heavy it is, and which categories you are best at. It also suggests a job type (though I am a little skeptical of how they choose these, having got Leonardo Da Vinci a couple ...
...memorise, compute, identify and visualise. And what the teacher says is true! The more you practice, the better you get. The Wii teacher speaks a bit too much and sometimes I wish you could push the button to fast forward the speaking, which unfortunately you cannot do! I really feel like this is a good educational game that is also a lot of fun to play. And the plus side is also that you can play with your friends at the same time. I highly recommend ...

I can prove I have the bigger brain...

Advantages: Fun for everyone. You can finally prove who's smarter
Disadvantages: Boring if you go solo

Much like brain training, big brain academy offers players the chance to test their brain power and improve with friends. The first thing to note is that the puzzles are different, and split up into 5 catagories: identify - For example, 4 pictures will show on screen and you have to click which thing is fastest eg bike, car, boat, rocket. Memorise - Commiting things to your short-term memory. For example, 5 numbers will come up and you have to ...
...questions. For example, red and blue balls will be thrown into a basket and you have to say whether more red or blue balls landed in. Analyse - Analyse what's on screen then answer questions. For example, lots of animals will appear on screen and you have to say whether there are more monkeys, elephants or cats. Visualise - Take in some of then picture then visualise the answer. For example a puzzle will be shown and you have to identify the missing ...

Big brain academy, the low down

Advantages: Fun and educational, multiplayer
Disadvantages: slightly repetitive after a while

OK firstly, yes this game is available for the nintendo DS and if you already have that version i would not recommend buying this also, unless you are planning on playing it at a small party or with a group of friends. Getting used to the game is very simple, the only buttons you need to press are A and possibly B and all movement is done using the wii-mote so the nunchuck add-on isn't necessary. You begin by enrolling in the academy using your ...
...starting the game is very simple, just follow the clear on screen instructions. Once you have 'enrolled' your mii you are ready to begin training that brain! You have the option of either a solo activity or a group activity. The solo option lets you choose whether you wish to practice or take the test and although practicing helps you get used to the game, i would suggest that you jump straight into a test as this is more fun. The questions themselves ...

Quick review of Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree (Wii)

This is another fab game for the Wii. It is a simple enough game for kids but also has adult appeal too. Every level is covered from easy to expert and plenty of gaming combinations too, solo, group, against the comp, test yourself etc etc. The music can get a bit annoying as can the remote coach but these can be muted. ...

Testing your brain, to the MAX!

Advantages: Good selection of objectives.
Disadvantages: Annoying Teacher, talks to much.

Big Brain Academy, what a great idea, a learning game? It probably sounds boring, well it is if you have no friends. But is excellent to play with another 2 or more friends! Top reasons to buy BBA: 1. Improves Mental Skills. 2. Gives your brain exercise. 3. A great quick game. 4. Compete with mates 5.Enjoyable, and a laugh. Top reasons not to buy: 1.The annoying teacher man, he talks to much. 2. For kids my age (12) Get bored of it after ...
...4. Makes your brain hurt 5. Can only play with up to 8 players Ok so you have basically just read, a few good and bad reasons to play this game. My main opinion is that its a good game, it gets your brain going, and everything you do has to be very fast, but correct. The thing I rate about this game is the annoying man at the beginning, that talks a load of rubbish that you didn't need to know. Also, after a while I got bored of playing this game, ...

Big Brain Academy (Wii)

Advantages: Quick to pick up and play
Disadvantages: Dull after a while

It's not often you can get a brand new game delivered for less than £20. The game is great fun for a short period of time when played alone, but becomes more fun when payed with a group! There are some really fun tests which look great and it makes good use of the speaker on the Wiimote. The graphics are very basic and cheesy but the game makes good use of using your pre-maid Mii characters. The main downers is that after a few hours playing, you ...

Big Brain - but not from playing this game.

Advantages: It's cheaper than most new games.
Disadvantages: Basically....everything.

I brought this game thinking that it was going to be some amazing game that would get me thinking whilst allowing me to have fun with friends and family members. Did it? Did it heck as like! I remember the first time I played it and I was majorly disappointed. The Wii was new out and this was a new game so I was expecting it to be clever games, great graphics and what not but the games were repetitive and I think my little sister could have made ...

Big Brain for Big Parties

Advantages: Single play/2 player races/group play....
Disadvantages: Voice on the game is annoying at the start!!

Brilliant game!! Fun to challenge yourself alone, with family or even at a party. The racing games get everyone excited and shouting out, injects a lot of fun into any situation. The added bonus of being able to assign yourself to a team makes it an extremely good choice for a large group, something no other console has really acheived before. The cheapness of the game is an added bonus, coming in at around £10 - £15 cheaper than others. I would ...
