On contacting the Binatone helpline, they were unable to resolve it over the phone as it looked like a software issue and would need to be sent for repair, or the other option was to contact the seller. Here, I have to say Amazon were superb bearing in mind it was ten months since purchase. They provided me with labels to send the phone back Freepost and within 4 days I received a full refund. I brought the Binatone X350 from Asda for £50 on the 5th April 2009. I opened the box in the car park and thought I'd test it out. Anyway, first impressions we're it looked good for £50, after all you get what you pay for and obviously I hadn't purchased a £350+ Sat Nav. I plugged the charger in, set my postcode (after much fiddling) and off I went. As you'll know everybody gets familiar with the area they live and what roads run quicker, what short ... ...manual refers you to the Binatone website to download maps, don't bother you can't download maps at all! The icing on the cake comes when the unit says turn left and displays right, no this is not a joke! After using this Sat Nav for 3 days I think £24.99 is a more fair price, who knows it could even be sponsored by the police/dvla and petrol stations sending you 90mph through numerous speed cameras in the wrong direction. Avoid this Sat Nav at all ...
Advantages: Easy to use, quick re-calculation, clear voice, nice screen Disadvantages: None come to light after ½ dozen trips.
Never owned one before, so bought this as a Christmas present to find a simple satnav to get me around the hockey pitches of Yorkshire. Don't travel for work, cheap satnav is all I wanted.
With: car charger, non-marking screen holder, usb cable, stylus. Charged it on Christmas day using the computer, around 3½ hrs. Picked up the GPS in the conservatory, around 3-5 minutes first time. Menus easy to use with either stylus or finger. Found a pedestrian ... ...address), next hockey fixture (pcode) and mother-in-laws. Car charger cable is about 4ft, straight wire, though charger is a bit big - about 2" sticks out. Screen mount flexible and easy to take off and adjust.
London was calculated in around a minute, less for the others. Following the route was easy; I used the 2D map, and I saw that it knew where I was instantly. Clear voice and easy map (I zoomed out a little from the initial close picture). ...

A great entry level system with all thats required from a basic sat nav. Easy to use straightforward menus. Sadly let down badly by the non existent customer support. I have tried to phone twice and got through to no one, I emailed twice via the contact us page on the web site and still no reply. Potentially this could be a top selling system for anyone looking for a basic no frills system but with no means of support for additional maps or how to ... ...gone for one of the more recognised systems. The current maps are out of date yet this is a fairly new system to the U.K market. I suppose you get what you pay for. If you look for more info on the website, good luck it's a waste of time. ...

This satnav i have found is extremely hard to find signal, it will find it half way through the journey which is clearly no good, currently looking to get an antenna to improve reception but struggling to understand how and where and what is right to get.
