Advantages Advantages can help your digestive system

Disadvantages Disadvantages can be expensive for a yogurt

Now i must admit that Christmas holidays for me, rhyme with chocolate excess every day! The obvious consequence being that by the 3rd of January, my tummy was pleading me to stop. Chocolates, but also all those greasy goodies that go with Christmas and the New Year, not to mention the alcohol! Having tried to satisfy my tummy's calls, I'd tried a couple of pharmaceutical remedies, which, strangely enough, had absolutely no effect what so ever. So i thought I'd try these. These are Activia Bio, who claim to have a healing effect within 15 days of daily consumption. Seeing as I'm rather a fan of ... more

Advantages Advantages No fat, good taste, not too expensive

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not as good as Onken!

I was looking at the special offers in my local branch of Sainsbury’s the other day when I noticed a ‘Buy one get one free’, affectionately known as BOGOF, on the Danone Bio Activa yoghurts. I love yoghurt but had not yet tried this particular brand so I thought I’d give it a go whilst the price was right. You know what I’m like where a bargain is concerned! The offer in question was on four packs of Danone Bio Activa Yoghurt in strawberry, peach or cherry flavour. Incidentally the packs are of four yoghurts of the same flavour. I had a pack of peach and a pack of strawberry. I’m afraid don’t ... more

Advantages Advantages peachy and creamy too!

Disadvantages Disadvantages too small a pot for such a delish product!

I love the Danone Activia Intensely Creamy Peaches & Cream flavour yoghurt. In case you think that is a long title, it is! But it is a brand new variety from those whizz-kids of sorting out your digestive system, Danone Activia. Danone make scrummy yogies, all my family agree, but only hubby and I agree taht the Peaces & Cream new Intensely Creamy variety is worth eating. The children are not keen on it at all. Ah well, it takes all sorts to make a world. My experience, and hubby concurs, is that this is THE most creamy and delicious yoghurt of all time. It is intensely creamy. It does exactly ... more

...full of life! ;-) Ah, January. The New Year. Resolutions. People trying to “be healthy”. I bet there are dozens of you out there who have decided to get 2003 off to a good start by pledging to eat properly, exercise and generally look after yourselves better than you did last year. Well, I’ll admit that I kind of said that too. Not a proper resolution, mind – more of a desire to shake off the ill health that had been dogging me for most of 2002. And this is where this product – Danone Bio Activia yoghurt – comes in, with a full and glowing reference from my mother (which should be ... more

Advantages Advantages Tasty , healthy , good for you , suitable for vegetarians , calcium

Disadvantages Disadvantages A little more expensive.

Since the early sixties when yoghurt , as it was spelt then , hit Joe Public and his shopping basket , I have always had a fondness for it . Initially there were only a few brands , Ski being one of the most popular . Today yogurt , as we now spell it , appeals to a much wider range of consumers and has developed into a little section all of it’s own . I regularly chop and change between different yogurts but have found I like Activia’s gentle creaminess . Activia is made by Danone , in France ,and contains ‘ Bifidus Actiregularis’ which is supposed to aid digestion . As the packaging says it ... more

When I first saw Activia yogurts advertised on TV, I thought, '...oh not another yogurt claiming to do wonders for your insides!' I also found the advert rather annoying and wasn't immediately keen to try the yogurts. However, I am not one to condemn something before trying it, so when I saw four-packs of Activia yogurts in Morrisons, I thought they might be worth buying. ○ Varieties and Flavours ○ The are four main varieties of Activia yogurt - 'fruit yogurt', 'fat free', 'cereal' and 'natural'. The fruit yogurt flavours are: * Prune; * Raspberry; * Strawberry; * Rhubarb; and * ... more

Advantages Advantages "mmmm Danone" is a catchy jingle at the end of the TV ads.

Disadvantages Disadvantages I found it to have a watery consistency.

I just ate one of these so I am in a great position to comment on it. For me it was too thin and watery in texture and tasted like a watered down version of a regular strawberry yoghurt. So I am a bit disappointed. I paid £1.50 for a 125g six pack that included 2 strawberry ones. It was a half price offer suggesting that the normal price is £3, but I won't be paying £3 because 50p for a 125g pot of yoghurt is too expensive in my opinion. A selling point of this yoghurt is that is has Bifidus Actiregularis in it so when I peeled the lid off I was expecting to see a scale model of a Roman ... more

I don’t want you to think I am cheap but special offers definitely attract me. So when I saw Danone Bio Activia Yoghurt on sale at 99 pence for four x125g pots they went straight into the trolley. I choose the strawberry flavour but was temped so I took four peach as well. It is unusual in the fact that four are all the same flavour rather than mixed. I think this is a good idea as with other brands I am always left with the black cherry as it is not my favourite. This yoghurt claims “a Danone a day is the healthy way “and when you are healthy on the inside it shows on the ... more

I am a member of Buzz. This is a website that gives their Buzz Agents the chance to try different items and then tell people about them, so you create what they call a buzz via word of mouth. My latest thing to try is Activia yogurts. I had never tried them before but as I received a coupon to get free packs I decided to give it a go. Off to Asda I went and straight to the yogurt section. I picked up a 4 pack if Activia Fibre, Kiwi Cereals flavour. **********A BREIF HISTORY********** Danone are the makers of Activia. In 1966 two French glass companies, decided they wanted to merge. Advantages Advantages At last, prunes in yogurt

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Not big enough!!

As a yogurt fan, liking fruit, and wanting to be healthy i thought i would try the Danone Activia bio yogurt with a prune fruit layer for a change. Well, it was the prune fruit layer that sold this yogurt for me. It is such an original flavour, and makes the yogurt a totally different taste. Not many other brands include prunes in a yogurt! Also, the prunes actually taste like prunes, none of this fruit FLAVOURED, but ACTUAL REAL FRUIT. There is a decent proportion of prune(10.4% of dried prune), and since prunes are quite sweet and strong, the taste remains strong when mixed with yogurt. As ... more
