Advantages Advantages It certainly won't dry your skin

Disadvantages Disadvantages Greasy, overpriced and overhyped

One crisp, autumnal evening in 1981 I eagerly attended a much-anticipated one-off music performance at Tiffany’s in Glasgow by a then notorious quartet from San Francisco by the name of Dead Kennedys. I had travelled through from Edinburgh accompanied by my then girlfriend, Linda, and we were primed and ready to enjoy. But the evening was a mild disappointment. The band was insipid, and the crowd was, consequently, irksome. Our evening wasn’t brightened any when on exiting the hall I was struck on the side of the face by a beer glass hurled across the heaving throng by some anonymous twat ... more

Advantages Advantages It really does work, perfect for anyone of any age, smells lovely.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Slightly over priced.

**Introduction** I may only be 22 years old and not yet have to worry about the effects of ageing but I still do as through media articles it's always shoved in your face on a daily basis. So when a friend told me that she had seen an advertisement in a magazine for a product called Bio-Oil I had to find out more about it…. Having taken a liking to what I had researched, I then headed straight down to my local Boots store to buy some… **Bio-Oil History** Scientists for years have attempted to develop a unique oil that will replicate the same properties of the human skin and they did this by ... more

Advantages Advantages Easy and pleasant to use.

Disadvantages Disadvantages No guarantee it will work for you as we are all different.

My favourite facial moisturiser was half price at Tesco's and having bagged myself a bargain I was perusing the shelves and I noticed the Bio-Oil. I have read several positive reviews on the product and thought I would give it a try. My reason for buying is because I have several brown blemishes on my face called melasma. What is melasma? Well, the short explanation is that it is a skin condition producing irregular brown patches. It has been linked to hormonal causes such as taking the contraceptive pill, pregnancy or HRT (but obviously not all at the same time!) and exposure to UV light ... more

I unfortunately have a few stretch marks due to weight loss and they get quite itchy and annoying. I have tried numerous creams, lotions and potions and none of them ever did anything to help the situation. Then one day I asked a Pharmacist in Boots what she would recommend and she brought Bio-oil to my attention, and I thank her for this. I was a bit dubious at first as it costs around £10 for a 60ml bottle of the stuff, but it was money well spent. You can get it online however for a great price of £5.99 for 60ml at www.multipharmacy.com they also do two 150ml bottles for £20. I apply it ... more

Advantages Advantages Reduces stretchmarks, uneven skin tone, scars etc

Disadvantages Disadvantages A little bit expensive but worth it

I have been using Bio Oil twice a day for the last six months and I am amazed at the results. I had never heard of Bio Oil before until my mum bought me a bottle, she bought me a bottle of it because I was forever complaining about the appearance of the stretch marks I have on my belly and boobs. My stretch marks started appearing at the age of seventeen when I was pregnant my son and I'm now twenty two. So for the last five years I have been really embarrassed by the look of them because they were bright purple and clearly visible. I was convinced that the stretch marks would always remain ... more

Earlier this year my daughter, Erin, aged 11 had to undergo major surgery to have a large benign tumour removed from her abdomen. It had been hoped, at the time, to separate the tumour using keyhole surgery and then remove it from her abdomen through a small incision below the bikini line, but due to the size of the tumour the surgeons were unable to do this and the tumour unfortunately had to be removed through a large incision just below Erin's ribcage. My initial reaction to this was despair for my daughter but then I realised that she had really been very lucky and that a large scar was a ... more

I was first introduced to Bio Oil about some years ago. My sister had recommended this product after she had her baby and it had left her with unsightly stretch marks that refused to budge even with recommended stretch mark creams. When I was younger I had a serious accident that left me scarred and being so young I was very conscious about my appearance and refused to show my arms and legs off after the scarring left behind numerous operations. At the age of 17 I had the world at my feet, I was in my final year at secondary school and was studying hard for my impending exams. As well as ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages A BIT EXPENSIVE, DOESN'T GET RID OF STRETCH MARKS

After hitting my teen years, I noticed that I was developing stretch marks on my buttocks (yuck, not a good look!). After trying a variety of things to help combat the problem, I found that nothing really works. One day, I noticed Bio-Oil on an advert, and was pleased to find that my local Lloyds pharmacy stocked the product. I was wary of the price at first, as it costs around £10 for a 60ml bottle of the stuff, but I'd say it was worth every penny. You can also get it online for a brilliant price of £5.99 for 60ml at www.multipharmacy.com they also do two 150ml bottles for £20. By applying ... more

Advantages Advantages Has multiple uses and works rather well

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Doesn't 'cure' everything

At almost 35 years old I have blemishes and scars I've collected over the years. Shaving almost daily since I was 14 has means war wounds in abundance and also going from 16 stone down to 8 stone and then back up to 9 and a half stone means that my poor old body has been stretched and shrunk meaning stretch marks. On top of that of course as we get older skin gets drier, less elasticity giving us dehydrating looking skin and an uneven skin tone in places. I so wanted to try this out but was wary of it due to the prices of it though really there is nothing on the market to compete with the ... more
