Advantages Advantages Relieves pain, easy to use, not too messy.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Doesn't smell fabulous

After upping my training hours in the last few months I have been noticing a few more aches than usual, especially in my legs and shoulders, I have also suffered with shin splints on and off for the last few years and even doing all the stretches after working out I do still get a few niggles in these areas. I have been searching for a product that would work to ease my muscle pains reasonably quickly so I can keep training, rather than having to take time out to wait for these little niggles to heal, I have tried everything from Ibuprofen tablets to ice packs and most things in between. Advantages Advantages Effective, non greasy, non staining.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Some chemical components.

I suffer from chronic pain and as a result am on pain patches and various other things. Advantages Advantages easy to use, pain relieving and no tablets!!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Quite pungent smell although personally i quite like it!

I work with both acute and chronic pain patients and so see the instant and long term effects of different treatments. Each patient is different and no two patients respond to a treatment the same. I first used biofreeze a few years ago as a substitute for regular massage oil on a patient who had chronic trapezius tightness and spasm. These spasms were caused by an underlying problem with the cervical spine and this was my primary focus yet symptom relief ... more

    Advantages Advantages works well

    Disadvantages Disadvantages expensive

My partner and I do martial arts training twice a week with our son and this can often result in a lot of pulled muscles and other strains. Ordinaly pain relief to get rid of and reuce inflammation such as Ibuprofen works, to a degree, but it feels sometimes like it is not hitting the spot enough. We have bought a gel tube for £7 (which seemed a bit dear at the time) of Biofreeze Pain relief. This is quite hard to find and we had to buy it online until we then discovered it later in Boots The gel is thick and green and you must be prepared for the pungent smell it gives off - not unlike Vicks ... more
