    ~ ~ The big Ciao Meet in Birmingham has been and gone, and I think a great time was had by all. Well, I can’t really speak for others, but as far as the ‘mad cabbie’ is concerned, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience, the best part of which was finally being able to put a face to the many different members that I’ve got to know so well online here at Ciao.     I know, I know, I stole my title idea from someone else, so sue me lol. Okey Dokey, after my much needed few days of recovery time, what with the huge amounts of alcohol I consumed over the weekend in Brum.     I’m kinda on the same vibe as Boxing Day. You know the day you have been waiting for has been and gone and now you are left being skint but happy and with a bagful of Lush goodies.     Aren't you really bored of reading these opinions yet? Or are you waiting for the one that has all the juicy secrets, you know, the things that people wonder whether they should mention or not.     You know, this is my fourth attempt at writing about the events of the Ciao Meet – it’s a lot harder than you’d think! After all, what do I put in? What do I leave out? Which characters do I assassinate, and who do I elevate to the stature of Ciao God? The power’s intoxicating! Well, not quite, but I think you get the point. I think that a chronological rundown of what went on would be a bit pointless / too long / boring (delete where applicable), so I’ll just split this into sections and write about what I think was most relevant.     Finally August the 17th was upon us and it was time for us a a group to meet up. It was in Birmingham near New Street Station in a place called the Britania hotel. A great choice I say. The Britania was a very largge hotel with 8 - 9 floors and thousands of rooms. It was lcated right in the town centre near to all the shops, restuarants, pubs and clubs and was fairly posh inside.     I was going to write this as soon as I got home, I’m sure I was one of the very first, arriving back at around midnight, but I was a little bit pie-eye having drunk a bottle of southern comfort and figured I’d probably just write a pile of garbage.     Typical. The day of the Ciao meet and they're doing 'essential maintenance work' on the Stoke to Birmingham train lines. A journey of under an hour becomes a journey of over two hours, taking in the unnecessary delights of Rugby station on route. That means getting up at 7.30, which for someone who only ever sees 7.30 if she's been up all night, is almost enough reason to cancel the whole thing. Sitting on the train, half asleep, she begins to think that it should have been enough reason.     I can hardly believe that a whole week has already gone by? This time last week I was just about arriving in Norwich to meet up with Moose before we began our foray northwards. I was already melting! I sit here with the computer room window open and it is decidedly chilly this morning..bet the hotel isn’t though!!     17th August 2002 This morning Mommy made me get ready early, I had to eat my breakfast and have a bath without being able to play with my toys. She keeps saying ‘Come on Jessica we’ve got to catch the bus soon to meet some friends up town’.
