Advantages: I now have new carpets Disadvantages: perhaps the cost
...they?**
As a company, Bissell have been in existence for over 125. Apparently the first cleaner by them was patented in the US in the 1870’s. Bissell have been active in the UK for about 100 years. Even Queen Victoria insisted that her palaces be ‘Bisselled’ every day!
** What is it meant to do? **
Deep clean your carpet! Basically the process of this cleaner loosens and removes dirt and ground-in grit, which is probably embedded in your rugs ... ...haven’t thought about. As Bissell is an American company, it was obviously designed with American plugs in mind, so it is a bit of a fiddle getting the standard UK 3-pin plug through. The power cable is quite long 30 feet, which I think is a good thing for any type of cleaner.
There is also a built in hose, for use with the crevice tool, and the upholstery tools. This hose can be wrapped around the tool holder using the guides provided. The end ...

Advantages: fantastic clean, easy to use Disadvantages: heavy and problems with seal falling in motor
I have used my Bissell Proheat for around 2 years and use it around a large fully carpeted house every 3-4 months. I have used a Vax carpet cleaner in the past.
On opening the box the handle need screwing but once in place doesn’t need to be unscrewed. The instructions are good, but take a while to read and can be understood by most people. If I have lent my machine to friends I usually show them how to use it rather than give them the instructions.
... ...the machine. Although the Bissell claims to heat the water I use hand-hot water to fill the water pouch so I would know if it heated it up.
Bissell carpet cleaning fluid cost around £6, I am not able to find this easily (have seen it advertised at currys.co.uk) and refuse to pay £15 for one with added Scotchguard. I mostly use Vax carpet cleaning fluid and I have also used another brand from a cleaning shop that is non-foaming carpet cleaner. I ...

Advantages: On board heater ! Disadvantages: Very expensive for a hoover
...a normal hoover and a Bissell Deep Cleaner is that it has an onboard heater that will raise the water temperature to 25 degrees for optimum cleaning performance. Its proven that hot water cleans better so why not take advantage of this handy feature to remove those tuff stains.
Now guess what..... until i saw this hoover i had never heard of one that had a 'perfect pass system' that will electronically monitor your hoovering speed for the best carpet ... ...revolutionary scotchgard protector that will amazingly protect your carpet against stains and mud etc keeping it looking cleaner for longer. Applying the protector is simple and only takes seconds to spray down on the carpet.
Now this wouldn’t be a hoover if it didn’t hoover as well which of course it does, (quite effectively at that). There are five brushes in total that lift out far down to reach down and gently groom the carpet.
Now i know this ...

Advantages: Removes most dirt, with simple enough instructions Disadvantages: Can be difficult to move around and doesn't remove tough stains
We were bought a Bissell after moving into a rented flat, with extreamly dirty and smelly carpets. The previous owners had obviously taken no care with the carpets, and the once cream floor colouring was now a dirty grey with several stains. The smell of Nicotene was also a problem. I found the product very easy to set up, with clear and very concise instructions. The actual cleaning of the carpets however was difficult. I found the machine made ... ...leaving a tear in the carpet. But, the Bissell did indeed lift a terrible amount of grime, and left the carpets much cleaner and smelling like new. Some stains were not lifted, but for general grime lifting and taking out a lot of the rubbish and odors, it worked wonders. ...

Quick review of Bissell 7920 Proheat Pro-Tech All Surface Deep Cleaner
purchased from Hydro electric at a price of £260, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this to other buyers
The spray is of poor quality, the machine does not live up to the deep clean standards stated
A complete waste of money with little or no improvement in carpet cleaning and no value whatsoever for the money paid. A COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME
I have borrowed a vax since and will be purchasing one of these instead ...

Advantages: Heats the water, the uprightness makes it easy to use Disadvantages: Blocks up easily, flimsy, breaks down, doesn't clean that well
...of sending back the 2nd Bissell proheat cleaner due to faults. The first one I had had a damaged hose at the back, the second one: 1. didn't really clean that well - not for the money anyway. I think that my previous Vax (which was much cheaper) did a better job. It really didn't perform as I expected it to do by reading everyone elses reviews. The carpets looked ok - but not really clean
2. used lots of the expensive cleaning products (we started ... ...so much). I was getting through 1 bottle per carpet (these bottles cost around £8 each) 3. By the 3rd carpet I'd cleaned, the cleaning indicator thingy had stopped working
4. The front bit gets clogged up with bits of carpet fluff - the design means it's impossible to get out. Each carpet was quick and easy to clean, but I then had to spend ages unblocking the cleaner, which wasn't a pleasant job
5. The power brush removed some of my carpet (which ...
