Advantages: Does most things it should simply and well whilst still being phone sized Disadvantages: Viewing some attachments is virtually impossible
...I also get a blackberry instant message from a mate asking if I want to go for lunch. Nice!
On the train to work I look at the emails to see what I'm going to face when I get to the office. Not much to worry about so I fire up the brickbreaker, the 'pearl' in the middle has taken some getting used to with brickbreaker but I'm starting to get some decent scores. More seriously though the 'pearl' at first is a little awkward but before long you're ... ...can get it on the blackberry as it's a word doc (pdfs I don't even bother trying because it's a nightmare with the blackberry).
On the way home I catch up on a few emails, the predictive texting is ok and takes some getting used to but I'm a speed demon on it now so I can ping off a couple of emails within five mins. Sort that out and then text the wife to let her know my train time.
I wouldn't say this is a smart phone, personal digital assistant ...

I love this blackberry - it is smaller then the "standard" 8310" and it saves space by doubling up on the keys. As your keys have dual letters on them it uses a typing technology called SURETYPE. This is not predictive text it uses software to understand what you are typing and you need to give it about 30 minutes typing, for the blackberry to get used to you. You correct the word once and it will remember that spelling forever. Sat Nav very useful ... ...a standalone sat nav system.
Emails are fantastic - wherever you are it will pick your emails up and you can add your business emails and hotmail style emails as well. very simple to add. And I have found the support people at Vodafone very helpful if there is an issue.
Syncing with your laptop is easy once you have set it up and it will sync with most Email systems to update your contacts, calendar etc.
Battery lasts about 2 days with low use ...

...good. Scroll takes some getting used to. Try the Face book aplication downloadable from the blackberry site through the phone, it works if your like me and a big facebook fan with doing lots of stuff on it then this is a good way to communicated with everyone via mobile. ...

The Blackberry Pearl 8110 is a great, affordable alternative for those who want more than just a mobile telephone. It does everything that a normal mobile telephone does; sms (text), make/recieve calls, has an excellent camera/video and has a great music player. However, it also has the many gagets designed to help you run your life more smoothly. I have had the blackberry pearl since march and i have to say it is the best thing i have bought.
You can add all your email addresses onto the phone and when ever you receive an email it goes to your phone as well as your pc.
The phone has a step by step to do this and is very easy to follow.
Text messaging is easy to do and you can surf the net practically any where as long as you have a signal.
I have accidentally dropped mine on a few occasions ... ...to get you started and a cd for blackberry user tools.
Also has interchangeable sockets for power lead so can be used abroad with out a travel plug being required.
So all in all this phone is good all round and would certainly have no doubts about having another one. ...
