It's that time of year again - fleas, bugs, ticks and the like. I've noticed my dog, Ollie, scratching quite a lot lately. (And now me after watching 'Aracnaphobia' on telly last night!). I've even managed to pick a couple of flea's off the poor dog and squash them! Urgh! So, on a recent trip to Tesco's, I bought a couple of Bob Martin products - the 'flea and tick spot on' and some spray for the home. I was dertermined to the kill those wretched flea's if it killed me! I paid £2.98 for 3 very small tubes, which will last you around 3 months. The packaging is red on top, and yellow on the ... more

Every couple of months we decided to make sure our dog did not get fleas or if he had a couple to put a stop to them before he got them or got more of them. We had tried shampoo but oh getting him to have a bath or catch him while he was having fun getting wet was very hard to do let alone put the shampoo on him and then wash it out so we decided to try Bob Martin Dog Spot on. You can buy Spot on in pet shops or like we did and found it very handy in Tescos along side the pet food. The cost can be between £3 and £5 all according to how large your dog is and how many treatments you want to give ... more

I find flea powders and sprays messy and the dog usually doesn't stand still long enough anyway. With a spot on liquid product it's very easy to use because you just snip the end off the small vial and apply to the skin on the top of the neck. The packs come in different sizes for different sized dogs and for a large dog you use two vials, which lasts for 4 weeks. Each pack comes with 12 weeks worth of protection. Not only does it kill any fleas already there, it also protects against another infestation for the four weeks, so if you use it continuously you should never get any fleas again. If ... more

This product is unsafe and should be withdrawn from general sale. In my experience it is far more likely to cause your cat a horrible death through toxicity than to kill any fleas. It seriously is not worth the risk. Spend a little more on at a licensed pharmacy or vet practice and get a safe product that actually works with proper professional advice. Bob Martin Toxicity cases are so common that your average vets won't bat an eyelid if you mention it. Seriously do avoid this product. It rarely kills fleas and is more likely to kill your much loved ... more

    Advantages Advantages Kills SOME fleas...Maybe

Disadvantages Disadvantages Does Not Get Rid Of All Fleas, VERY Harmful to Cats

Bob Martin Flea Drops are a complete waste of time & money, because it basically does not work effectively. Because Bob Martins can be sold anywhere, it is only liscenced to kill up to 60% of fleas. The stuff from your vets (Advantage, Frontline, Stronghold) can only be sold by a vets, and that is because it is liscenced to kill 100% of fleas. Basically, you are just going to end up spending more money. By the time you buy Bob Martins (from a shop where the staff can't advise you on anything) and it doesn't work properly, you end up going to your vets in the end anywhere and buying more flea ... more

Having tried the product recently on my two dogs due to not being able to get access to the vets to buy frontline I would have to say that I am totally unhappy with the effectivness of the product. This product does not kill fleas, does not break life cycles, and made one of my dogs itchy! The poor thing already has fleas and now his skin has come out in rashes and welts and he is pulling all of his hair out scratching himself trying to get some relief. The dog that is itchy has expereinced skin problems previously, although never with flea remedies, so I presume he is allergic to something in ... more
