Bomberman DS is a classic puzzler developed by Hudson Soft and Published by Ubisoft If you have never played Bomberman man before let me tell you how it works: The levels are a top down view of a maze-type map divided into squares. Some of these squares are unbreakable walls, some are breakable objects and the others are empty. The idea of the game is to strategically place bombs to eliminate the enemy. Placing a bomb within range of a breakable object will destroy it, and it will possibly leave a power-up. Collect these power-ups to make you stronger and be able to lay more and better bombs ... more

Advantages Advantages great game, lots of new bombs

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none really

Bomberman, this is one of the classics and the DS has brought it back to life without ruining it for the rest of us by adding silly features or anything to fancy to the game. The basic principle of the game is still the same, it is a puzzle game where you as 'bomberman' go through a puzzle structured maze blowing up blocks and baddies with bombs to get to the finishing point and proceed on to the next level. This game is made interesting by the different kinds of bombs that you can pick up while you are playing it, remote controll activated, the new voice activated, complete destroying, fire ... more

For the uninitiated, the concept of Bomberman is simple. The aim is to be the last (bomber) man standing. The game is view from an asymmetric top down perspective and you can survey the whole of the ensuing chaos. You start with the ability to plant one small powered bomb which destroys the bricks blocking the maze. As you proceed to annihilate the level (and hopefully the opposition) power ups become available. These range from the obvious increase in power and number of bombs you can drop at any given time to more obscure, and wicked, remote bomb. And that's it, you drop bombs to blow up ... more

Yes bomberman has made yet another appearance this time on the Nintendo DS. For those of you that have not yet come across one of the many bomberman reincarnations let me bring you up to speed. Bomberman is an explosive maze based adventure. The game is set on a Arial view screen made up of square block walls. These wall are arranged to form a maze of sort with various walk ways some of witch accessible and some blocked off. This doesn't pose a problem to bomberman though, as at a press of a button a bomb is dropped. The detonator is set for about five seconds just enough time to retreat from ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages Graphics but they aren't that bad.

Fantastic! The first similar bomberman game I played was atomic bomberman which was years ago and I recently remembered how amazing the game was. I went to look for it and was disappointed that it was only for Windows 98 and below. Anyhow, I discovered Bomberman for DS and decided to purchase it. It hasn't got the same things as Atomic Bomberman such as customising the character, destroying other bombermen and escalators, but still it was well worth it. Amusing and original, this game is brilliant to play just to past time, for rainy days or just for a bit of entertainment. The game graphics ... more
