...of sending off films to Tripleprint to get back one normal size print (6 x 4" I think) and two smaller ones (about 2 x 1.5") which we'd cut off and share. Recently I 'rediscovered' Tripleprint photo processing mailing service and since the existing reviews are a couple of years old (or more) I thought I'd add a newer one.

1) Tripleprint This is the arrangement I described above - two normal size prints and two little ones off a 35mm film. The little ones are handy for wallets, but they're pretty small, so if you have people in the pictures, you'd want the person to fill up the picture rather than be way off in the distance, otherwise you'll need a magnifying glass to see them on the two little prints. It costs £3.50 for up to 27 prints, and ...

Advantages: Low prices, good quality and good service Disadvantages: You have to wait for your photos, limited liability if things go wrong
As many of you will know, I spend a lot of time on the internet. This means that many photos I take, I like to share with poor unsuspecting internet friends. However, I do not have a digital camera and I have a crap scanner, so this presents a problem. Bonusprint have just solved this for me with their new ‘photos on CD’ facility (more on this later).

They annoyingly fall out of magazines, they are often in leaflet racks and often in the bin. If you still can’t find one, you can phone them on 0800 849 5555 or order them from www.bonusprint.com.

Advantages: Inexpensive, good quality, reliable, several sizes possible, free index prints Disadvantages: Takes about a week, only works in the UK, no free film, possible confusion over print sizes
...Bonusphoto. The DoublePrint and TriplePrint versions send back small wallet-sized photographs attached to the larger ones, useful for grandparents! However it's a bit of a nuisance cutting the photographs up, so I tend not to use these much. This report is about Bonusprint itself, but the others work in the same way, at similar prices.

OED definition – express: with speed. Bonusphoto, a division of Bonusprint needs to purchase a copy of a dictionary, any dictionary, as they have absolutely no concept of the meaning of the service they offer.
I have used the services of Bonusphoto a couple of times in the past and have been pleased with their service. So, armed with films, processing envelope, personalised labels and cheque book, I set about the task. I opted for the ‘NewExpress’ Service, at an extra cost of 30p per film. This, I add, is not because I am so impatient that I can’t wait 7 days (well it is partially that) but, some relatives were coming up from Kent ...

Advantages: Low cost, great quality, free film! Disadvantages: Photos could get lost in the post
...hobby. I was first recommended Tripleprint from a friend 6 years ago. I liked the idea of 1 6x4 print, and two smaller wallet sized pictures for sharing, (or what I do is use the smaller pictures to make one large mirage) I must say I was sceptical about sending money through the post. Just like Tripleprint and Bonusprint and Truprint and, erm, York Photo, Doubleprint is a send away photo developing company, and I’ve been using them for coming up to 5 years now I would imagine. **** The Procedure **** How it works is simple. You take your photos as normal and get to the end of the film. After re-winding you remove it, stick a sticker with your surname and postcode on, and pop it in one of their envelopes (I always put it ... ...your cheque or postal order (made payable to Doubleprint). You then fill in the envelope, selecting the prints you want (see below) and pop it in the postbox. **** The Pictures **** 1. Normal 35 mm Films Doubleprint’s main selling point is that they give you “double” the normal number of photos per negative. So that’s two then. With their original offer you would get 1 6 x 4 photo, and a smaller 4 x 2.6 one, the perfect size ...

Advantages: Excellent quality, value for money and customer service. Disadvantages: Takes longer to get your photos than high street processors
...I started to use Tripleprint a few years ago after spending a fortune on processing at my local store. I saw the leaflet for it and decided to give it a whirl, simply because it was so cheap and easy.
Prices start from £2.99 plus 70p p&p for up to 27 exposures on a 35mm film, or £4.99 plus 70p p&p for up tp 25 exposures on an APS film. Tripleprint also develop single use cameras, and with this you also receive a free film, which seems a little pointless. These are treated as 35mm films.
You also get the option to take priority in the lab for just 30p more, although the speed of processing is incredibly fast anyway. The last set of films I sent off for processing were returned to me in just 5 days - wow. Tripleprint state that they try to return photos within 3 days ...

Advantages: cheap, high quality Disadvantages: still no use if you want your photos immediately
I'm no great photographer but whenever I get my photos developed I use Bonusprint (you may have been annoyed by their envelopes falling out of Sunday newspapers). All you do is put your film and cheque/postal order in the freepost envelope and - hey presto! - a few days later your photos are returned. The service is pretty quick - I sent a film off on Monday and received my photos through the post on Friday morning.
The two best things about Bonusprint ... ...In a recent "Which?" survey Bonusprint/Tripleprint scored the highest marks for the quality of photos, beating Boots, Jessops and the rest.
The prices are very low. A 24-exposure film with photos 6"/4" costs £3.19 inc. p&p. A 36-exposure film with the same size prints costs £4.19. 24 APS photos costs £4.69, 36 APS photos £5.69.
Prints are available in regular size (5.2"/3.5"), 30% bigger (6"/4"), 50% bigger (6.4"/4.3") and 100% bigger (7.5"/5"). ...

I have been using double print for several years now and despite the relativley slow (in this day and age anyway!) turnaround time I continue to use their service.
