Fancy something a little more exotic - like Africa or the Americas, well you could possibly do a lot worse than visiting this site. www.bookings.nl has been around for quite a few years (1996), initially designed specifically for hotels in the Netherlands. During that period, its facility has become more sophisticated and expanded its beady eye to cover hotels throughout the world, although having not tried any other locations I can only vouch for Amsterdam at the moment.     so many places to visit so little time There are literally hundreds of search engine type websites to help you choose everything you need for your holiday from hotels to car hire and flights. In this day of technology making everything supposedly easier for us with such a large selection it's sometimes hard to know which one to choose. For me when I'm looking for a hotel I always use booking.com to make my selection as it's the one I trust the most and the one I think is most user friendly.     My son and his partner recommended me to this site as they always used it for there hotel bookings. They go to Amsterdam quite regularly and once they went to Naples. *** THE WEB SITE *** Very simple to log in . www.bookings.nl is all that is needed. You are then into the home site. It comes up in the Dutch language at first which can seem a little daunting. To find your own language you need to click on your home flag which is near top left .     I used www.booking.com about 10 times in the last 5 years. We were in Prague, London, Strasbourg, Paris, Bourges, Nice, Orleans, Lido di Jesolo (some places for multiple plies). We booked our accommodation for our honeymoon as well via booking.com. The site When you click on http://www.booking.com you can see an orange rectangular panel. You have to fill the destination and the checking in and checking out dates. Press the Search button. Then if you wrote a large city like Paris there are some choices you can select from.     Disadvantages Disadvantages if a hotel cheats you, they will apologize, but do nothing.

    Booking.com: Colluding with Corrupt Hotel Owners to Cheat Customers? I am sorry to have to write this review, but I have tried for months to get Booking.com to address my complaint. I have reserved rooms using this service in the past, and have been very pleased. This, however, came to an end this summer. I booked a room at the Travel Inn in Reykjavik, only to find, upon arrival, that my wife, son, and myself were escorted to a car with no explanation.     This is a website to enable you to find and book hotels all over the world. Appearance/Layout It's not instantly appealing. The pages all have a white background and the hotels featured are in blue and black print mainly, with little pictures of the hotel. The home page has a small yellow rectangle for the 'search'. First Steps - how to use it Ok, I want to find a hotel in a city or area anywhere in the world. So, in the search box I simply enter that information. Then I have the option to specify dates, or to say that my dates are flexible, to say how many rooms and how many guests. The ... more

    ~~Personal use of the website~~ I was recommended to look on this site by a friend when I was going to Edinburgh and needed accomodation on a budget. When I went on the site I found it simple to use and the best offers were clearly visible. It was hard to believe it searched through so many different accomodation providers as it brought up the results so quickly. Before reserving a room I checked back on the website periodically to see how the rates changed and I noticed they didnt change for afew weeks so I thought Id better reserve the cheapest room on that date before they all went.     Booking.com is a very deceptive and badly constructed website that reflects the kind of business done through it. I strongly recommend any traveler to use a different hotel finder than this one. Unaware of it's awful reputation as it has, my husband and I tried to make a reservation to stay at the Country Hearth Inn in San Francisco for March 16th and the reservation was made for some time in January! When you start making a reservation on Booking.com you select the check-in and check-out dates, then the page changes and so do the dates!     Hotels can prevent dissatisfied customers from giving poor reviews on booking.com. The hotel reports you as a 'no show' (whether you stayed, paid whatever), and then Booking.com do not send you a feedback form, and if you ask for one, Booking.com will not send you one, unless you kept your signed receipt (if you remembered to keep it and sign it). On a recent tour of Sri Lanka, this happened to me twice - the only two disappointing hotels on the whole 10-day trip, both reported me as 'no show', though I did arrive at both, and stayed at 1 (the other was too bad, so I did not stay).     Key words - booking.com, complain, worst system, no responsibility, review I know it is a long comment but i think it will useful to understand worst system on booking.com. Booking.com is the worst travel agency in the world with no responsibility to their customers. Their system is to send the booking detail including customers' credit card detail to the hotel. Yes, it looks like the system is convenience to customers that put credit card for guarantee their booking with no charge and only pay the fee on arrival date.
