My son and his partner recommended me to this site as they always used it for there hotel bookings. They go to Amsterdam quite regularly and once they went to Naples.

Very simple to log in . www.bookings.nl is all that is needed. You are then into the home site. It comes up in the Dutch language at first which can seem a little daunting. To find your own language you need to click on your home flag which is near top left . ... ...the one you require then you need to look for the Search for hotels section.
You now have a choice of searching for your preferred destination and putting in your check in and out dates or doing a general search for different locations. The site at first was for Amsterdam only but now they are all over Europe, USA. And lately The Canaries.
Once you have selected your hotel of your choice it will give you availability and price. There are lots of ...

So when you decided which hotel would meet your expectations click on the hotel's name, choose which type of room do you want, the quantity of rooms and press book now. You have to give your name, e-mail address, guest's name, credit card details. Then they need your address and ... ...charge a day in advance. Booking.com didn't charged me neither in that case. So I have only good experience with the site. I highly recommend it. I will surely use it in the future as well. I booked a room at the Travel Inn in Reykjavik, only to find, upon arrival, that my wife, son, and myself were escorted to a car with no explanation. Eventually the clerk told us that we would be driven to the "other" location. The Travel Inn has, it seems, bought ... ...for (155 Euros), not what Booking.com promised us. By charging the same for this bait-and-switch the hotel, and therefore Booking.com, are being throughly dishonest.

Booking.com guarantees lowest price, but they refused to cover this difference. Yesterday I saw the same hotel at booking.com advertised with a 70% discount... looking closer at the room rate the price had been even more inflated

We decided to stay at the Blue Rainbow apartments in Manchester as a change from staying in a hotel when visiting family. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment for £100 a night. This price included bread, butter, tea, coffee, cereals and a pint of milk. The apartment was large, with 2 decent sized bedrooms, though they are not the biggest Ive ever seen. One bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, with just a shower, sink and toilet. There is also another ... ...The kitchen is compact but has everything you need, including a dishwasher and combined washing machine and dryer (with the relevant washing tablets included). In the lounge, there is a nice large TV, a dining table and a coffee table. For some strange reason they only have one sofa in an apartment that could easily fit four adults in. My experience of booking.com was good up to the point of checking in the hotel booked. Despite my proof of reservation at booking.com there had been no reservation made at the hotel at all.
The Hotel had rooms but at £40 extra per night than previously booked.
The customer service at Booking.com was next to useless, asking them to re-confirm the booking over the phone, they absolutely refused saying they had already done it and the hotel must have ... ...The excuse at booking.com was that they were not allowed to make any changes, repeating this everytime like a stuck record- yet I was not asking for a change.
After 15minutes aguing the valid point with Booking.com customer service and getting nowhere, I have come to the conclusion Booking.com are useless, and will no longer use them.
This is the first and last time.
I have tried many of theses sites and my recommendation is Bookinhotels.com which ...

I have used BOOKING.COM where we have made the booking and stayed at the Hotel and also where we have needed to cancel.
BOOKING.COM is another site that often appears to be the cheapest when we trawl HOTELSCOMPARISON.COM.
We booked for Vila Gale in Tavira Portugal for our January trip.
Booking process was very easy, we had two double Rooms with Buffet Breakfast and Pool View (Pool View was 1 Euro per night per room, Saga were Charging 2 Euros ... ...present to Hotel.
Booking.com is one of those Agencies that do not take any money off you at the booking, you pay the Hotel Direct.
You do register your Credit Card number with them, so in the event of no show they will then take the charge.
But cancellation policy is very straightforward, as long as you give 2 days notice then no charge is incurred. And it does work as we have cancelled a booking with them.

...hotel was 125 euro, but booking.com offered 50 euro rate. I think I was a big deal for me. And at that time, I could not make print out of my booking because it was an urgent situation. But I did not have a problem at all with it. Just need to confirm my name with hotel's reception, then I got my room's key within 10 -15 minutes, of course I need to fill up some details again for the hotel's form.
Pity that we could not find lots of hotels in Asia. ...

...one about the fact that booking.com took the payment for my hotel booking prior to my arrival at the hotel, when normally I have been used to paying on check out. I was aware that it was a non-refundable price, but had not read that they would take payment immediately, and felt that this information should have been much more clearly stated. Their response was to initially blame the hotel, then to misunderstand my complaint by saying that it was ... ..."Couldn't Care Less" And THEN, when checking out of the hotel I had to laugh because another guest was having the same discussion about whether the payment had been taken or not already. The hotel blamed booking.com, and booking.com blamed the hotel. I won't be using them again. ...

I booked to stay at Hotel Post in Kelkheim, Germany, with booking.com, but needed to change the duration of stay from 2 nights to one. I followed the instructions to do so via contacting the hotel giving 3 days notice.
However, when I got back, I found I'd been charged for two nights.
Whether it is fault of hotel or booking.com is hard to say, but what is unforgiveable is that neither of them responds to emails. No point in booking.com giving out an email for customer service, as they don't actually serve customers. ...

WARNING! Beware!!! I am still trying to resolve a very bad experience with booking.com. I had a CONFIRMED reservation with "Red Bed and Breakfast" in Sofia, Bulgaria. This place turned out to be nothing like the advertised representation. Our room was switched, it was dirty and the breakfast was unavailable at the times stated on the website.
