    Manuel Rivas' unique novel was a complete fluke of a find. As a prospective English Literature University student, I am trying to open my eyes and my mind to works of authors from alternative backgrounds, rather than the traditional works of Shakespeare or Dickens. And what a way to do it. From the moment I began reading the book, until the very end, I was completely lost in Rivas' simple yet elegant storytelling.
