Advantages Advantages Boots Botanics has a good reputation, Bottle lasts a long time, Suitable for sensitive eyes, Does the job!

Disadvantages Disadvantages There are cheaper alternatives, though not necessarily as good!

When you wake up in the morning, it's never very nice to wake up with sticky smudgy eyes having not removed the previous day's eye makeup. The solution... make sure you remove your eye makeup properly before going to sleep! But with what? There's plenty of products about that claim to effectively remove all eye makeup, even the waterproof stuff, but, when you try them they don't really do all that good a job - Boots Botanics Soothing Eye Makeup Cleanser does the job, and as far as i'm concerned, it does it pretty well! Boots own description of the product is: "Botanics Soothing Eye Makeup ... more

Advantages Advantages Removes eye make-up with very little effort.

Disadvantages Disadvantages The bottle opening could be improved for easier application.

I originally bought Boots Botanics Soothing Eye Make-Up Cleanser because I was given a free Boots voucher to spend (one of those that has to be redeemed on one of a few selected brands). Since I stopped using cleansers that removed all of my eye make-up, I had been going through eye make-up remover quite quickly. I therefore thought that it would make sense to spend my voucher on a new one. I had heard good things about this and another Boots branded eye make-up remover. In the end, I decided to try this one because it looked so pretty! Boots Botanics Soothing Eye Make-Up Cleanser comes in a ... more

Advantages Advantages Effective. Low price. Pleasant to use.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Screw cap which can leak. Not for those avoiding parabens.

Over the last few months I have been actively cutting back on spending on cosmetics and what I have been searching out are products which last, are easy to obtain, are pleasant to use and, of course, do the job for which they have been designed. The next task is to find which products meet all of these requirements but cost the least. Now I must confess that eye make up remover had not been on my shopping list on the first occasion I bought this Boots Botanics product. I had been shopping in a very small, local branch of Boots and noticed that this item was included in a range of buy-one-get ... more

Advantages Advantages Natural Ingredients, nice looking packaging.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Caused eczema to flare up. Not very effective.

I have been using the Boots Botanics range of face care for a few years now. I used to use the Daniele Ryman range, which was made from plant and other natural ingredients, however it became increasingly difficult to get hold of and I haven't seen it at all for at least two years. So I tried a one or two other brands and my eczema worsened, until one day I saw the Botanics range being advertised, made the connection that both the Daniele Ryman products I had been using and the Botanics range use similar ingredients and decided to give them a try - after all, what did I have to loose! So I ... more

Advantages Advantages removes make up easily

Disadvantages Disadvantages its a bit oily

I recently bought this as I used to get my eye make-up off with face wipes, but found I was having to scrub at my eyes and pull at my lashes, which really cant be good for them so I decided to invest in a make-up remover. Botanics currently have an offer on where there is a 3rd off their products so I decided to invest in their eye make up remover. I was torn between getting a cream based one and an oil based one, but since I have started to wear liquid eye liner I thought an oil based one would be more effective at getting off more stubborn make-up. The eye make-up remover itself has changed ... more

    Advantages Advantages removes make up

    Disadvantages Disadvantages greasiness

A couple of months ago, I started to wear make up regularly. Even though every day I tend not to put heavy make up on - just a bit of a mascara, eyeliner and blusher, I like to put heavier (perhaps waterproof) make up on in the evenings. Therefore I need a good make up remover. Being on a budget, I spent some time around Boots trying to find something sensible. In the end, I decided to purchase Boots Botanics Soothing Eye Make-Up Remover (from the reviews I have read and the description/picture above I conclude it's the same product that I am talking about - probably under a new name). It ... more

Advantages Advantages it works!, soothing on skin

Disadvantages Disadvantages can't think of any

I hate panda eyes, as I guess do most people. I also hate having to drag cotton wool balls/pads over and over my eyes to try to get my eye-makeup off. And this solves both those problems! Why? Well, let me tell you, in minute detail, just why I love this product. Packaging --------------- It comes in a small cylindrical bottle (hmm, is it possible for a bottle NOT to be cylindrical, that would make it a jar, I guess. Ah, semantics- on with the review), with a tin lid and a yellowy-green label. It's simple and I like that. Also, no excess boxes and plastic that only gets thrown away. I guess ... more

    Advantages Advantages Gentle, efficient.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages A little oily.

Boots' Botanics SOOTHING eye make-up remover is the most fantastic product of it's type I have ever used. It does require some shaking to mix the solution, however I only need 4 dabs on a cotton pad for each eye, and in a few gentle sweeps the magic is done. I have been faithfully using for about 3 years now; I often wear a lot of eye-liner & mascara and have never ever suffered from any irritation or stinging. A plus with the Botanics range, is that there is often an offer for 'buy 1 product get the 2nd half price' and so I often use these opportunities to stock up. Some people seem to have ... more

Advantages Advantages No panda eyes in the morning

Disadvantages Disadvantages Irritates my sensitive eyes :(

I am currently using the face wash, toner and moisturiser from the Botanics range and I love them, so I decided to try out their eye makeup remover as well. The range promotes itself as using naturally sourced ingredients from plant extracts within its products and being recognised by the botanical people at Kew Gardens. As you can see from the picture above, the product separates into two layers, one of which I believe is an oil. Before you use it you therefore have to shake it up to mix the two layers. I then put some on a cotton ball and hold it to my eye first to melt away mascara and then ... more

Advantages Advantages Removes all evidence of eye make up, suitable for all skin types

Disadvantages Disadvantages Leaves a greasy feeling on skin for a while after use

This product does exactly what it says on the tin, or bottle as the case may be. For this reason, i guess it should be considered succesful. However, i personally will most certainly not be buying this product again. I bought this product because i was growing tired of spending ages in the mirror trying to remove a build up of mascara and eye-liner with cleansing wipes every night. While this eye make up remover certainly works faster than cleansing wipes, as it effortlessly removes any eye make up, it does leave the skin around your eyes excessively greasy,(not to mention your fingers, which ... more
