    There was a time when you didn't need to think about food when you were taking a flight. Sometimes (although admittedly not THAT often) you'd actually eat quite well and I even recall a now long-defunct airline that could serve a hot breakfast on a shuttle from Manchester to London. But that all changed with the rise of the no-frills airlines. 'Buy-on-board' or 'Bring-your-own' soon became the norm and now even the full-service airlines don't go much beyond a liveried lady striding up and down the aisle with a bunch of rolls saying 'ham or cheese…..ham or cheese' and smiling until her ... more
