    Advantages Advantages Quick easy.

Disadvantages Disadvantages hurts like hell. (but only for moments)

I was talking to a friend of mine on the telephone about beauty treatment here in France, and thoughtfully they sent me a treatment made by Boots because they thought that instead of having pain inflicted on me and having to pay for it, I could inflict pain on myself very easily without the charges !!! This is a Boots product, not a fancy designer product that promises the earth. It comes in a packet and you get a pot of liquid wax or honey looking stuff, some rather skimp looking strips of material which actually turned out to be too large for the job, and a powder that you apply to the skin ... more

    Advantages Advantages no hair (duh)

Disadvantages Disadvantages lack of guidence and having to have hair to use it

The thought of lots of hair makes me shudder, I think the people that invented waxing knew this and decided if we are going to have 4 weeks of hair freeness, we must have a couple of weeks of hair growing time to be able to rip the little buggers out. So, for the past week I hid my razor and walked around in trousers, secretly feeling like a yetti, until the blessed day finally arrived when the hair reached that magical length of 5mm. woohoo! I decided to buy Boots wax because of the opinions I had read on here, and thought I would contribute to the praise given to it. I have never waxed ... more

Advantages Advantages Better consistency, stays warm longer

    Disadvantages Disadvantages need more strips

I have been subjecting myself to this painful but essential job for about 3 years. Until recently I always paid someone else to inflict the pain upon me but having falllen on harder times have been undertaking this task myself (with the help of an understanding sister). By accident the leading brand name I was looking for had sold out and having only 1 day to de-hair before a sexy date I decided to take a chance with Boots Liquid hair Wax. It was by far the best wax i have used. The consistency was better than other products I have used and stayed warm for longer. The only criticsm is that you ... more

Advantages Advantages smooth hair free skin for weeks

    Disadvantages Disadvantages the pain factor

After recently trying Boots waxing strips, i thought i would go the whole hog and get the liquid wax kit to try. My first impression was that it was not as painful as i had thought it would ( or perhaps i just enjoy pain?!). The kit contains a 250ml jar of liquid wax, 10 cotton strips and a wooden spatula. You can microwave it or use the traditional stove top method of heating - i microwaved it as for the full jar it only takes about 40 seconds. At first it can get a bit messy but when you get the hang of it, it is ok. There is enough in the jar for several applications, and for the £7.09 ... more

Advantages Advantages the bottle, the application, the strips, the powder!!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none

Boots own brand warm wax applicater, is the best thin on the market and at 6.99 it is the most affordable!! I have asian complex and get very dark hair, the boots wax it quick and reletaively painless, the talc that it comes with really does help in reducing the pain. The applicator is very much like the ones many salons use and it very very easy to use. It only takes a max of 50 secs to heat and if it does become too hot just allow to cool for aboiut 2 min. If you have never waxed before this is the product i would recommed. As i have tried all the product son the market from shavers, to ... more

    Advantages Advantages No hair

    Disadvantages Disadvantages danger of death

Just thought i'd review some liquid wax that i bought to wax my boyfriends hairy back! Seriously i would recommend treating such problems as not only will they be left silky smooth, they will also be left in agony!! its a win win situation!! The stuff works brilliantly but jus twatch out that you dont put too much on as the wax can soak into the strips that you get to rip the hair off with an they rip. This stuff was so good that i even used it on myself! Results were pretty good although i didnt leave the hair grow for more that 1 1/2 weeks cos lets faceit, who want to look like a yeti for a ... more
