Simple, effective, easy to swallow, inexpensive

Not instant, won't work well on serious pain

Background I'm sure most of us keep at least some painkillers in our medical cabinets; sooner or later they're very likely to be needed, and it's a welcome relief (in more ways than one!) to be able to get some from within the house rather than trekking down to the nearest corner shop or chemist...

Cheap but effective

None at all

I’m not the biggest sufferer of headaches fortunately but when I do tend to get them it’s normally when I am work under a little stress. I have found over the years that no matter what I take for a headache whether it is the gel capsules which are supposed to be fast acting or just normal...

Cheap

Not very fast acting with severe pain

When it comes to Paracetamol, I don't see much point in paying over the odds and I am not at all brand loyal. I picked this pack of paracetamol up a couple of weeks ago now while in Boots. At just 45 pence for 16 caplets, this was one of the cheapest options available which is why I bought it...

“Boot that pain away”

Effective, cheap

Not as cheap as supermarkets stores own

I’ve had a dodgy lump on my jaw line for a couple of months now. I wasn’t experiencing any discomfort for the first few weeks, but just recently it’s been playing up when eating a big meal. Going around town last week, the aching pain turned up out of the blue, I hadn’t eaten something which...

cheap and work well

none

I remember when I was working as a nursery nurse before I had my son and one of my best friends at work used to swear by buying expensive branded pain killers. Frequently I would tell her that it was the same product inside fancier packaging for the most part and that store branded equivalents...

Nice shape and easy to swallow

None at all for me

I always used to take an own brand painkiller, one with the same ingredients as Anadin Extra but since becoming pregnant I have had to resort to just paracetamol if I need a painkiller as I’m not allowed aspirin. I recently popped into my local Boots chemist to collect a prescription and picked...

The product These are 500mg Paracetamol caplets from Boots. Caplets are designed to be easier to swallow than standard paracetamol tablets. The packaging These caplets come in two blister packs and each one contains 8 tablets. This means I can keep one in my medicine box at home and one in my...

does numb pain

takes a while to kick in

The other day I was suffering from a really sore back and I needed something to take that would make the pain go away as it was really ruining my day. I always buy my medicine from Boots as I trust them as a pharmacy and feel their products are always successful at helping me with whatever I need...

“Pain relief on a budget”

Works well

none for me

As most people the last few years money seems to get tighter and tighter and so we have downgraded on just about everything and paracetamol is one of them. I really detest having to take pills so often leave it until the last minute when my head gets too sore to handle and always try and find the...

Great on headaches

Not brill for me in other areas

I get an awful lot of aches, pains and general headaches. I have a bad back every day and I suffer with M.E which explains all the other issues as well as sore throats and a swollen gland in my neck. Because of this I often pick up paracetamols and the likes to pop in my very large bathroom...

Although I would say Boots isn't the first place that springs to mind when it comes to finding a bargain, their own brand range of medicines is one exception. Boots have a value line which carries the 'Value Health' branding, and the (slightly) more costly Boots branded range which appears to be...

None for me.

I always buy a shops own brand of paracetamol because I think they work as good as any branded kind and for a far cheaper price. I have bought these caplets a few times in the past and found them to be very effective to ease my pain. The caplets come inside a cardboard box, inside the box there...

“Caplets with dents”

Price and very fast acting

Non good for migraine

I have recently been using some paracetamol tablets that are made by Boots. These are the caplet variety, which I actually really like because they are nice and small, easy to swallow and if I feel I want to take any less than a whole tablets at any one time, then there is a slight dent right...

easy to swallow

not the cheapest

My work is quite stressful and occasionally staring at a computer screen gives me a headache. Unfortunately if I don't look at the screen, the work does not get done so I have to persevere and probably make it worse! If it gets really bad I take a break, have a drink of water and take two...

Mostly when I buy paracetamol I get it from Tesco, however, if I'm in town and need some then it's generally Boots to which I'll turn as it's the largest and easiest store to get to that sells this sort of product. Not being partial to paying the exorbitant prices expected when you buy branded...
