    Advantages Advantages Cheap, comfy, reusable

Disadvantages Disadvantages Don't drown out noise very much at all

Sadly for me I've always been a very light sleeper. The slightest noise like a clock ticking can drive me insane so imagine if you will me moving into my dream flat a couple of years ago by the sea and drug dealers moving in right next door to me. Now cos there were loads of them coming and going and the place was where they dealt from never was it quiet in there, not for a minute. I was stuck in a tenancy I couldn't get of and couldn't afford to move at that point but the flat block I was in turned into a dirty, noisy and blood ridden place (yes blood because of the fighting) and next door to ... more

Advantages Advantages Work for background noises

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Hurt your ears

My Other Half works shifts and these include 12 hour night shifts so when he gets home at 8 in the morning all he wants to do it go to bed. The only trouble is that we live on a road that is not a main road but is well used with buses running past the house every ten minutes and a school just over the road so there is quite a bit of noise around while he is trying to sleep. He decided to have a look in Boots for some earplugs and found these disposable ones that were a reasonable price. The cost him £2.50 and you get three sets in there and he can use them more than once so last him a while ... more

Advantages Advantages They block out the noise

Disadvantages Disadvantages They hurt my ears

I often have difficulty in sleeping. Not actually getting off to sleep, but waking up during the night. This is not helped by the fact that my other half is a very noisy sleeper – most of the night she’s making such a racket she can even be heard if I pop downstairs to get myself a drink. She knows she snores, but she’s unaware (as are most prolific snorers) but as we have tried a ton of things to stop her and nothing so far has worked, I have resigned myself to the fact that the only option is for me to try to help myself by using earplugs. I have tried many different kinds of earplugs during ... more

    Advantages Advantages Cheap

Disadvantages Disadvantages Fall out, to uncomfortable

I decided to try these to see if they stopped me suffering ear pain whilst flying. I get severe ear pain when taking off and landing, and had been advised to try some ear plugs to see if they helped at all. I bought these boots ear plugs for £2.50 and they came in a pack of three, which i thought was pretty cheap. These claimed to be soft, comfortable and effective at reducing noise. Well i dont know if these ear plugs are any good at reducing noise as i couldnt even fit them in my ears! They were too big and i could not put them in, it was too painful as they were not soft at all, you could ... more

Advantages Advantages Cheap, incredibly long lasting, keep the noise out beautifully.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None.

I am from Australia and on my last trip to the UK decided to try some Boots ear plugs. I have slept using ear plugs for some years as I am a very light sleeper and was woken many times a night with the slightest noise, not to mention a husband who snores like a train! These are the best ear plugs I have ever used, so soft, just give them a squeeze and roll between your fingers then pop them in. They last and last, 3 pairs lasted me 6 months, and they are washable so you can just keep on using them. Luckily my daughter was over there recently so I asked her to get me some more, she brought me 2 ... more
