Bosch WFF2001/L

An ultra-reliable family workhorse, until this year. This machine has been used day-in, day-out since October 1998: it's been extremely reliable, but earlier this year, the heating element literally blew up, then the lock broke a couple of months later and, most recently, the pump died. The replacement lock isn't that good, either: with the application of a small amount of brute force, the door can still be opened and closed mid-cycle. We've had a BOSCH WFF2001 (Not sure what's with the /L) in our kitchen for a number of years now, bought brand-new..... I think it was from SCOTTISH POWER in Scarborough, but can't remember. Prior to that, I recall the thing had come top in WHICH? magazine tests for 2 years running....... so I guess that's 2 prestigious recommendations it has (mine & theirs). Wanted a machine that would last at least 10 years and Meile was a bit too expensive for me so I bought this machine 14 years ago and it's still going strong with no issues. Spent a bit more initially and it was a worthy investment. so far it has worked out at about £28 a year! And no Engineer call outs. The manual although fairly slim gives all the relevant details you'd need and also there is a nice fault finder section that you can use if any simple faults occur saving you a small fortune on an Engineer call out.
