The Bose SoundDock is a smart, stylish sound system for your ipod.
The look of this piece of kit is smart, It looks very stylish. Available in white or black. The Design is arched which allows for the sound to be angled when in use. The back is pretty plain and houses most of the components. Bang centre on the front you will see the docking area fro your beloved ipod. This unit has a larger footprint than its competitors 6.65" H x 11.91 W x 6.48" ... ...supplied was multi voltage.
Bose claim there product is compatible with all dock connector ipods. The adaptors supplied cover the ipod video and mini and other ipods. The Nano insert was not included with mine but Bose sent me one directly. However I don't use it. We own two ipods a 60 GB Video and a 2 GB nano I use the adaptor that fit the 60 GB video player as I find the nano sits happily on the dock connector without any further support.

...wonderful sound docks from Bose. Bose are well know for the quality of there sound systems. The sound they produce is just simply amazing. You hear and feel deeper depths to the songs you already know and you fall in love with the tracks all over again. This being said i did my research and found i wanted this one. Picked it up for £279 with 2 years free guarantee from my local John Lewis. Which for me is a bit pricey, and there are cheaper ones ... ...CD or other MP3 players using AUX output.
The Bose SoundDock is situable for all classic ipods, new nanos, ipod touch and the iphone. This SoundDock is a must for any one who lives and die with their ipods. I recommend it highly.

...size. As with almost all Bose speakers the quality is amazing, so long as the source you are playing it from is high quality it will allow the speakers to each its potential.
I have a surround sound Bose set up in one of my rooms but now prefer to use this product as it is very simple to operate. Just plug the mp3 player in and press play and your set. Can't get much simpler. It also runs off a wall socket and depending on the country of purchase ... ...are often purchased for travel use, and although it is a small unit, it is still not that small enough to be ideal to travel with. It also should be run of a wall socket thus use of batteries clearly isn't a great option.
Another major factor is its price. Of course you are getting high quality and warranties by paying the high price but it is expensive. Although it can fit other mp3 players its main focus is on ipods, so please buyers, make sure ...

The Bose sound-dock is a piece of mastery in the area of audio technology. Beautiful, sleek and streamlined; it's large frontal speaker provides both volume and sound quality. The music I play on the sound-dock sounds almost incomparably better than CDs played on a CD player. It is almost unbeleivably easy to use. From opening the box to playing my favourite tracks took a grand total of about 30 seconds. It's as simple as; put the correct ... ...fault, my one gripe with BOSE is that you can't buy these remotes on their own. So, for the foreseeable future, I'm reduced to getting up off my couch when I want to skip a track or alter the volume!! (oh the horror!!)

I bought this unit in November this year. There are two models, the original sound dock which I think is about £199 and the second generation one (the one I bought) which was £279 from John Lewis. The second generation one is basically the same as the first except:
a) it has a rechargeable battery
b) it has a swing out dock
c) it has an auxiliary (3.5mm) jack input
If you just want a basic model, then go for the first gen one. I got the second ... ...addition as is the auxiliary 3.5mm input - I have mine connected to an apple airport express that streams itunes from my laptop to my bedroom although I have used it in a friends house with my ipod too.
The sound quality is good for its size which is about the same as a hardback book and it weighs in at about 1 kilo. You can take the battery off as this is the bit that weighs a lot. The controls are easy - you put your ipod on the dock (or connect ...

...want to state that the Bose soundock is an exceptional piece of kit. Before i bought mine i toyed with the idea of a lesser quality and obviously less expensive option but was lucky to hear a freinds unit before i spent any money,needless to say the difference in sound quality is like compareing a honda to a porshe. Personally i'm a convert but i will try to be unbiased.

The Bose Sound Dock.... where to begin.... well I bought this in autumn 2004 to go with my apple ipod. I had great expectations but sadly I was disappointed. The unit looks smart in the usual Bose way but in the areas you need it to excel it just doesn't.
Firstly this isn't a cheap speakers solution, so you expect a reasonable quality product from such a specialised manufacturer. I own other Bose products but this one doesn't meet the same standard.
... ...highest quality tracks, but the Bose shaped speakers just don't seem to have the usual Bose ooompff you would even get from a Bose radio. Since buying the system it has had minimal use because of this, it was bought to use in the office but we have gone back to using our stereo system or playing mp3's via our computer speakers. This may just be a dud unit I've ended up with but other people I know who have bought the Bose Dock don't seem particularly ...

I got this as a very generous housewarming gift after I had been lusting after it for months and I really honestly cannot say enough good things about it. The sound quality off of it is properly amazing, to the point where you can pick up all sorts of subtleties in songs you've been listening to for years that you may have never heard before. It's phenomenal how something so wee can produce such sound, this sits unobtrusively on a side table, and ... ...fantastically ease to use, the term plug and play was invented for this thing. I mean that's literally it, you plug it in, stick your iPod in and away it goes. It has a remote control too, which is only credit card size, and has few functions, limited to volume, skip, pause and off, so there's not an array of buttons that it takes a year to figure out what they do. It also charges your iPod while it's docked, so there's no worry about it running ...

I didn't want a cheap tinny sound, but am always a bit wary about spending a lot of money on electronic goods - how much are you paying for the quality of the item and how much for the hype of the name? In my opinion the Bose sounddock was a great spend. I was looking for a quality product to enable me to listen to my iPod. I shopped around and tried out a few other speakers, e.g. JBL onstage. The Bose sound was remarkable. It was so clear it was unbelievable. I got a surround sound feeling whilst listening to the speakers and there was no sign of the low hum or odd crackle one sometimes finds accompanies certian speakers. I have now had my Bose ... ...the Bose Sounddock comes with a very well equipped remote. Not too small to lose it among you things, and not too large to be mistaken for a TV remote. ...few years ago in a Bose store and was blown away by the quality of the sound it produced.
Since then, Bose have made it smaller again but there seems to be no loss in sound quality. There are no stickers stuck to it saying "Accentuated Bass" or "3D Sound" or any of that rubbish - this is because it doesn't need any of it. The sound is rich and provides a great output across all frequencies giving a clear and accurate reproduction of the audio you ... ...of i-pod up to the 20/60GB Video models, Not sure about the newer 30/80GB video models although it's only a case of having the correct dock adapter, which i have a feeling is provided anyway with this system - i've not been able to test that. This might come with the newer models of i-pod anyway.
The one small complaint i would have about it is the slight lack of control using the remote. While you do have +/- volume, next/prev track, off and play'pause ...
