I bought this blender for the sole purpose of preparing my own baby food for my daughter, which I did never once turning to a jar of ready prepared. Prior to this my household was blenderless and I have never bought another one. The blender is mains powered (as opposed to cordless) and the blender shaft is detachable and suitable for cleaning in a dishwasher. The trickiest thing to get off the small rotating blade is minced beef as forms underneath the blade like string and you need to use a sharp knife to get it off. Not a criticism just an observation.
