I have wanted one of theese tassimo machines since they first hit the market. However having just set up home i could not afford one. the story begins with the death of my beloved Russell Hobbs coffee maker due to miss use! Let this be a lesson to descale your appliances & to clean the milk off the frother nossle as this is what busted my old coffee maker.

...The Tassimo is made by Braun and Kenco. What sort of drinks does it make?

On Christmas day I made my first cappuccino with my new toy. It was relatively easy to set up, rather like plug and play type technology. The first time the machine is used it needs to be flushed through or cleaned using the cleaning T-DISC™ which is provided.

I absolutely adore my Tassimo, it was a spur of the moment buy whilst I was in Argos looking for a gift. I got it in silver to match the rest of my kitchen appliances. I thought it was a fair price, I paid £99.99, I know it seems quite expensive for a brewing machine but as well as basic coffee you can have cappuccino's, latte's, tea and even hot chocolate. I thought it was a bargain.
With my Tassimo I got the machine (obviously), a cleaning disc, ... ...registration card.
I love the design of this machine, it's really sleek and shiny (for now). It is mainly silver but the cup stand is a nice gleaming black. It looks really modern and fits in brilliantly with my kitchen décor. There is a 1 litre water tank. It has an adjustable cup stand and drip tray. Braun have broken the predictable mould and obviously gone for quality and a range of top suppliers
The pods themselves are supplied in packs which in turn contain two separate cardboard dispenser packs of pods , a well thought out and useful idea . They are easy to open and convenient for both neat storage and access .
The Hot Chocolate variety contains a total of 16 pods , in two packs of eight , the tea has 20 pods ... ...extremely reasonably priced considering that Braun have created their own " captive market " .
Had I not received this as a gift , I would definitely pay the £69.99 or even the £99.99 for this machine .
It certainly isn't one of those faddy gadgets that will end up in the back of the cupboard in a couple of months time . I'm sure I will have lots of use and pleasure from mine , and I've already seen how impressive it is at a dinner party .

OK, I must confess I am addicted to hot chocolate! I have been looking for a hot chocolate machine for a long time and then along came Tassimo. For £99 (now around £79) i thought it was a little pricey but I decided to go for it anyway.
I got my machine from Argos, after opening the box there is a minimum of setup required - remove the protective cardboard, put the water container on the back, run through some water to clean ... ...'quick start' booklet leads you through this and it takes about 5 minutes.
You now have a very nice coffee machine on the kitchen counter!
My machine came with a selection of T-Discs to start with (I'm not sure if they are still doing this). T-Discs are the 'cartridges' that contain the drink. Advantages: Excellent quality cuppa every time! Disadvantages: won't fit in my back pocket to take to my friends house!
My partner had to redeem himself big style at Christmas after buying me a pair of carpet slippers even my granny wouldn't wear last year, and he certain did with the Tassimo.
The black and silver machine fits nicely in the corner of my kitchen standing approx 30 cm high, width and breadth 25cm x 25cm (just higher than a slimline kettle and the width of two slimline kettles).
Its easy to clean and easy to use (my nine year old son loves to use it)! ... ...pod and press auto (making sure you have water in it of course)! When the water needs replacing all the lights flash like a spaceship!
There's quite a variety to choose from some of which are decaf, classic, cappachino, hot chocolate and breakfast tea.
The decaf is great for me when I want a cuppa in the evening and don't want to be staring at the ceiling all night! It tastes just as good as the classic, in fact I can't taste the difference.

I recieved my Tassimo as a present.(Which i asked for.)
Its retail price is 100 pounds.
However if you look around you can manage to get it cheaper. The person that bought me the Tassimo managed to get it on Amazon with free delivery for 75 pounds.
Also, when you register your Tassimo online you recieve free 'T-disks'.
Yes, 'T-disks'. This is what the machine takes. The T-disk is a small round plastic disk with the chosen drink mixture inside. ... ...hot water enters the disk and out comes nice hot tea.

Suchland -Hot chocolate (One of the best hot chocolates)
Kenco - Cappachino
Kenco - Caffe Crema (fresh coffee with a creme layer)

When the Braun Tassimo was being advertised on telly on almost every break, I have to admit I was well inticed !
Most of all cos of the list of drinks available, and also because it looked so good on the telly and matched my Braun toaster and kettle !
COST OF MACHINE
I did a lot of shopping around and at first it was costing approx 99 pounds but finally i got a bargain at 72 pounds from the Tesco website with free delivery and also earned some ... ...between 3.50 and more and can get a approx 18 coffees or teas but only about 8 cuppachinos. U have to buy separate milk cartriages which are not much cheaper so the cost of that is rediculous in my opinion and u have to do the work twice, put in the coffee cartriage and the after disposing it put in the milk one, what a waste of time if u have to make loads of cups! I have to say that for a single person or a couple its barable but invite ur friends ...

The Tassimo is a easy to use system which sits comfortably in any kitchen area. The system can be easily be turned off by a switch to the rear saving the need to unplug the device each time after use and therefore saving that all important electric bill. Once on this system takes all of a few seconds to heat up the water needed. The lights to the right hand side as you look at it light up whilst heating once heated the lights advise you of this fact. ... ...to be placed in the system. This is placed to the top. Once inserted the barcode reader in each system reads the barcode placed on each individual disc and produces that drink. If the water to the rear runs out during making a drink the lights to the side all light up and the machine comes to a hault until the reservour is refilled. The pods are quite pricey, and the quantity in a box has reduced, but they must be value for money, as we keep going back for more. We bought some pods on the web, and several milks had leaked, but replacements were quickly sent. Now we stick to supermarkets...

Like many others, I can't start the day without a caffeine hit. But being very lazy, I can never be bothered or never seem to have the time to boil the kettle, put the coffee in the cup, get the milk etc etc
With the Tassimo things are so much easier. I just have to lift up the lid, slip in the pod of my chosen drink and press auto and bingo there it is - a nice hot drink.
It is easy to set up and use. The water container is at the back of the ... ...machine has an adjustable base so you can use small or large cups.
The machine is quite compact just 30 cm high, width and breadth 25cm x 25cm. Just slightly larger than a kettle.
My choice of drink is the classic coffee but there is plenty of different drinks to choose from. My wife's favourite is the latte which comes out layered with steamed milk coffee and creamed milk. There is also decaf, cappachino, hot chocolate and breakfast tea.

The Tassimo is absolutely great. Me and my wife have wanted one since we first saw it, being coffee addicts, but couldn't afford it for a while. However, once a sale was on, we couldn't resist and spent approximately £80 of our hard-earned cash on one. We have now had it for about a year, and haven't regretted the decision even once.
We love how fast and easy it is to make coffee now! No fuss, no mess, just nice coffee, time and again. No need for ... ...either, as it comes out great everytime. You have the choice of stronger or weaker coffee by stopping it just before the cycle finishes or by adding water in the end.
The other great thing, which at the time we couldn't find with other such coffee makers, was the different drinks it can make, from your standard filter coffee, to espresso, cappuccino, hot chocolate and even tea. And they keep coming up with new ones every once in a while as well, ...

Ive had my tassimo machine for around 3 months now and i am really impressed with it. It makes you a drink in about 30 seconds, and is very easy to use. You can make tea, coffee, espresso, and of course hot chocolate, which is what I make most!! You can make adjustments if you like you coffee a little bit weaker, as I do, there is a manual mode that allows you to adjust the volume of water to taste. I thourghly recommend this machine as the drinks ... ...get to free packs of disks in the box.
The only down side to this machine is the cost to the environment. The extent of packaging involved in making a single cupis really quite scary, I have limited myself to one or two cups a day. I know this is a little silly considering the cost of purchasing the machine etc., however I have been feeling a little guilty about how the pods are made, and think that the makers should be aware of these problems too.
