Advantages Advantages A Great Engrossing Read, Well Loved Characters In A Brilliant Story

Disadvantages Disadvantages The Series Ends With It

As the final instalment of a series I would just like to mention firstly that I will attempt to keep all major points of this story out of my review, but may touch on past events in the series. My apologies if I mention anything that you have not already read, but please note you have been warned. Continue at your own risk. Right… Background / General Info ----------------------------------- Breaking Dawn is the fourth book in the hugely popular “twilight series” written by Stephenie Meyer. Released in August 2008 and is an impressive 756 pages long. It’s a mammoth book and as far as I’m aware ... more

Advantages Advantages Great writting, compelling reading!

Disadvantages Disadvantages It brings the saga to an end!

Breaking Dawn is the fourth and currently final book in the Twilight Saga written by Stephenie Meyer. I say currently as although this book does have a definite ending, like all good money spinners I am sure there is a way more could be written at a later date as either prequels or sequels! Also I have heard rumours of a further book being partly leaked already. And Tesco’s are already selling books about ‘The Real Forks’ and the such, including a documentary type DVD about the town and surrounding areas! As this book is the last in a series please do not read this review if you intend to read ... more

Advantages Advantages Draws all the threads together - certainly a few shocks in there!

Disadvantages Disadvantages A bit too descriptive in parts.

Breaking Dawn Breaking Dawn is the fourth and final book in the Twilight Saga, at present it only seems to be available in hardback, as the paperback isn't available and is an extortionate price anyway. Plot ***I am going to write this assuming a certain amount of prior knowledge - that the reader has read the first three books, so BEWARE only proceed if you accept this.*** The final book resumes with Bella and Edward still and couple and about to go ahead with getting married - it is then accepted that Bella will then make the change to become a vampire. Jacob is now at a distance from Bella ... more

Advantages Advantages Fab storytelling and characterisation

Disadvantages Disadvantages Drags at times, disappointed at ending

Breaking Dawn is the fourth book in Stephenie Meyer's series, aimed mainly at the teenage girl market, with elements of romance slightly outweighing those of horror, fantasy and action. It is a brilliantly scripted fourth book, and does the other three justice. It is worth pointing out that it would be very hard to read this book as a stand alone novel, as events that have occurred in the previous three books are very relevant, and I feel you may flounder with incomprehension should you attempt this fourth tale without the experience of the first three under your belt. Similarly, in reviewing ... more

Advantages Advantages A true love story, with a captivating twist!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Couldn't put it down!

Truly Captivating! The heart-wrenching story that seems to have held so many people captivated finally comes to an end, but not before more tale, emotion and fear reel themselves in! Breaking Dawn starts off where Eclipse left us, with Edward & Bella's wedding, the arrangements, the day and the after. We see the lead up to the wedding with all of the worries and anxieties that normal people would face, and then the day itself which turns from wonderful to perfect and then into tense as a situation arises. We then see Edward & Bella head of for their extended honeymoon, and the tension between ... more

Advantages Advantages The perfect ending to the amazing saga.

Disadvantages Disadvantages I don't think the film will be able to live upto the book, but I cannot fault this novel at all!

Introduction I started reading the Twilight series last year, and was hooked from the first couple of paragraphs. Stephenie Meyer is the author of the Twilight series which includes 4 books: Twilight; New Moon; Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. The books all follow the lives of the people of Forks, Washington in the USA, namely Bella and Edward. They met when Bella Swan was shipped off to Forks to live with her dad, Charlie when her mother re-married and moved away, Edward lived with his weird family, the pale skinned beautiful people, The Cullens. Soon learning their secret, Bella is entranced, the ... more

    Advantages Advantages good escapism Saga

Disadvantages Disadvantages Breaking Dawn Hardback book to large should of been split into 2 paperbacks

Synopsis: To be irrevocably in love with a vampire is both fantasy and nightmare woven into a dangerously heightened reality for Bella Swan. Pulled in one direction by her intense passion for Edward Cullen, and in another by her profound connection to werewolf Jacob Black, she has endured a tumultuous year of temptation, loss and strife to reach the ultimate turning point. Her imminent choice to either join the dark but seductive world of immortals or pursue a fully human life has become the thread from which the fate of two tribes hangs. Now that Bella has made her decision, a startling chain ... more

Advantages Advantages Great storyline and very readable.

Disadvantages Disadvantages The saga is over

This was definitely the best book in the series. I have read the whole of the twilight saga and this book was my favourite. As a twilight fanatic I'd like to think I knew the story well but I did not expect the dramatic twist in this fourth and last book. At the start of the book Bella is adjusting to her new and luxurious lifestyle, now that she has agreed to marry into the rich and gorgeous Cullen family. With an expensive missile proof car and exclusive member credit cards she is uncomfortable with the materialistic transformation, however, once walking down the aisle to the sexy vampire ... more

Advantages Advantages The next in a heavenly series for the vamp fiction fans

Disadvantages Disadvantages Out of character, out of sync and out of it's depth

I encountered the first book by Stephenie Meyer quite by accident, I was browsing in Waterstones, looking for something easily digested and fantastical. I'm an adult, a mother in fact, but I don't rule out teen fiction as a potential genre. I read Twilight very quickly, entirely consumed by the power of the story and the depth of characters. I was impressed by her writing style, a fluid experience with vast emotive capacity which was entirely fulfilled. The whole series is a vampire love story in essence, it sounds mushy and juvenile with such a brief description but it is accurate. Bella is a ... more
