You too can have cafe style Pannini at home!

Advantages: Very easy to clean, quick consistant results
Disadvantages: none

I've had my Breville TR40 for about a month now and I wish I'd bought it sooner! My old sandwich maker had finally bitten the dust after it lost it's non stick plating, probably due to my having to scrape the contents out on nearly every occasion-not so with the Breville TR40. This cafe style appliance is medium sized but amongst the smallest in the range of new pannini style toasters, with an attractive chrome finish. It has quality non-stick plates ...
...much more adventurous which your Breville as it toasts all sorts of bread; foccacia, pannini, pitta, bagettes, slices of regular bread. I've been using wraps with various fillings and they are really sucessful. My husband even cooked quesadillas on it as the hot plate is large enough to take a small tortilla. Cleaning is really simple. The top plate is completely smooth with no lip so it can be wiped over with a damp cloth. The bottom plate has ...

Makes great Tuna Melts!

Advantages: Quick, easy to clean, great sandwiches.
Disadvantages: None

...£30. INTRO :- The Breville TR40 is a pannini press, NOT a sandwich maker. My point in saying this is to inform the reader that this doesn't have any sandwich shaped cavities as other breville sandwich makers have. As such it allows for other types of bread to be used, i.e. pannini, ciabata etc... It will of course toast sandwiches as well and has space for two large sandwiches in one go. The device is supplied with a manual and simple sandwich recipe ...
...of the press is a Breville logo which is surrounded by a large clear oval shaped plastic piece that houses a green and red light. (more on that later). FUNCTIONALITY :- Using the large handle (see picture), the top of the sandwich press can be easily lifted up and down. On the right hand side attached to the handle is a slider. The slider allows the user to lock the sandwich press shut, or select a level at which to keep it in place, i.e. to ensure ...

...the past now with the Breville TR40. It consists of a flat, non-stick, bottom hot plate which is where you put your sandwich and a flat, non-stick, top hot plate which is connected to the bottom one with a floating hinge. This means that it automatically adjusts to the thickness of your sandwich, without pressing too hard and squeezing all the filling out. The operation of the Breville TR40 is pretty simple. Plug it in and a red light appears on ...

Professional looking sandwich press

Advantages: Easy to use and clean

...buy. I've always had a breville sandwich maker as I feel they're very reliable but wanted to try a sandwich press as I like the various paninis etc. you can buy nowadays. At first I had a few mishaps - lowering the top too far and ending up with sandwiches that resembled pancakes more than anything else. This feels so healthy as you don't need to grease the bread. It has an adjustable height control which means you can use virtually any type or thickness ...

Basically I did a bit of research and discovered this is the toaster most grilled bread fans like. Its true to say it make superb tosties and it can be used to cook other stuff too. how brill is the breville

Advantages: good looks good cooks
Disadvantages: a bit big

well my first impression when opening the box "was where on earth are we going to store this" but as it was past my lunchtime no time to ponder the finer points,so straight on with the manual, well written concise and to the point. What a breeze, plug in and go, no messing around with oil this plate, have it switched on to prime it, take a holiday while waiting etc. So i was now plugged in and ready to go, well nearly, thought wait the 10 minutes ...
...2 minutes the light was green and ready to cook, very impressed as i was waiting now on my bacon in the frying pan. Panini bread in hand, filled with tomato, bacon and cheese I placed my parcel in the press, gave a lovely resounding sizzle and looking at the cooking guidlines of 5 to 8 minutes i thought i would be looking at a cremation not a toasted sandwich, but soon the cheese was melting and the aroma of bacon and tomato wafting through the air. ...

Breval Panini Maker

Advantages: Easy to use and clean, smart looking, great for cooking anything!
Disadvantages: None that I've found just yet!

I love this machine! I've had it a few years now and don't kow what I did before without it! Besides being a compact size and a remarkably convenient appliance, the stylish stainless steel and black colourings are a distinctive feature; which are easy to match with other kitchen appliances on the market at the moment. It's easy to use and has a smoth wipe-clean surface, it also doesn't get too hot on the outside when it's on and cooking. You can ...

You may never want another type of snack!

Advantages: Very easy to use and clean
Disadvantages: The slight lip around the base plate

I bought this great little sandwich maker just before Christmas from Amazon (and it arrived well before the estimated date) and I have used it for lunches every weekend since. The plates have space for a couple of long ciabatta rolls or panini placed side-by-side. If cooking only one, it's best to place it diagonally across the plate because during cooking the top plate sinks down. The instructions recommend placing one sandwich to the rear, but ...
...bread can be used, although it's better to have thicker slices or firmer types as the bread is squashed during cooking. There is no need to butter the outside surfaces of the sandwich, which in my opinion makes this toaster far superior to the normal sandwich makers. The upper plate can also be set to allow toasting of welsh rarebit-style cheese on toast or similar, although I haven't tried this yet. It heats up very quickly (in about 2 mins), the ...

Breville range

Advantages: Very nice and fast, and makes a keen toasty
Disadvantages: Can be aquward to clean

I got a Breville toasty maker for Christmas. (With a hidden agenda from the giver of the gift). I was not sure about whether I would use as it's very easy to get theses kitchen appliances and then find out that you do not use them. I also had thoughts about them being to big before hand. On the day following boxing day, when I made my first toasty I was impressed from then onwards. It made the toasty perfect and reasonably fast. (A fair 5-ish minutes). ...
...space, an issue for people with smaller kitchens. Cleaning of the appliance is relatively simple. All you need to do is wipe it down, or if it really needs cleaning wiping with a soapy cloth etc. does the job. I would recommend every kitchen to have a toasty maker as they have limitless use ahead of them. They are much nicer than a normal toaster and are well worth the unit space. ...

...decided to go for the Breville TR40 panini maker. I am so glad it did. It makes fantastic toasted sandwiches, paninis and I also use it to cook fried onions, burgers and meat in general, it is really versatile. I think this is a great product for the money and I use it on a regular basis to make great lunches for all the family. The machine has several different settings for different thicknesses of bread. It has a good instruction booklet with some great recipe ideas in. Also the hot plates are flat with just a raised edge around the outside to keep every thing in so cleaning ...
