    All my best mates are men. Men make good friends in my opinion. They’re funny, loyal and much less likely to judge you like other girls might.     I started taking Brevinor a couple of years ago, mainly for contraceptive reasons, but also because I'd suffered for ages with the periods from hell, even ended up in casualty once because of the little devils! Anyway, I needed something to sort me out and the pill seemed the obvious solution. I have to say, I had a lot of concerns about taking the Pill, you hear so much bad press about it, personally, I was particularly worried about the possibility of weight gain.     I've tried a wide variety of contraception methods, everything from condoms to the contraceptive injection and in my opinion Brevinor is by far the best. I began taking Mycrogynon (a combined pill) when I was 15 as I was suffering from severe period pains. they were so bad that each month I was being violently sick, fainting and occasionally even being rushed to casualty! At first Mycrogynon was brilliant, my periods were really light and completely pain free. However, in exchange I developed splitting headaches and gained about a stone.     i was on brevinor for 2 years. It started of okay. I grew a cup size and after having heavy periods for many years ( and sometimes having them three months straight ) brevinor really helped my period be sooooo much lighter! and my face and skin cleared up so much and wasnt oily at all. This was great until i started experiencing MUCH anxiety, moodiness, heart palputations and not even wanting to leave the house. It got so bad.     I changed to Brevinor approx 2 years ago and I have to say this is the best contraceptive pill I've ever been on. I wont bore you with technical details because they are readily available elsewhere. With previous pills I suffered from varying mood swings; one minute being very aggressive and the next being very emotional and crying over the slightest thing. I found when my doctor changed me over to Brevinor, within weeks I was a completely different person. I'd become very calm, level headed and for once in my life I actually had patience!     Brevinor was recommended to me when I was in my late teens and was suffering really terribly with heavy painful periods that seemed to last forever. At the time I felt a bit too young to be taking them, think I was around 16 or 17 and the thought of taking a contraceptive pill scared me a little. The pill is a tiny little blue tablet and if you happen to drop one on the floor, they are a nightmare to find!! The tablets are so small that I find I can take mine without having any water.     I have been on the pill for 9 years at 16 i got put on dianette for PERIOD Pain, I had 6 happy years on dianette with NO side effects bar the odd headache, Then i stared to get major side effects to cut along story short i was ill for 2 years didnt know it was the pill till i stopped taking it the like magic all my systoms went, however 6 months after stopping dinatte i got acne all over my face and back [id never even had spots as a child i was horrified] So with my new found acne problem i rang up the doctor he said it was one of the possible side of coming off the pill again long story ... more

    This is without a doubt the best pill I've ever been prescribed. Unlike all the others I've tried (cilest, trinodial and microgynon) Brevinor did not kill my libido - in fact, it's sent it through the roof! This could be a negative to some people, but for me it was a godsend as I'd suffered from low libido and vaginal dryness on all other pills which kind of defeated the purpose of taking them. As well as enhancing my sex drive I've found that this pill has not had the negative physical effects of other brands, for example it did not give me headaches which I have had before now.     I started this pill about 2 years ago when I realised that things were getting serious between my current partner and I. Having tried Dianette & Microgynon in my late teens & early 20s I wanted something that wouldn't cause me to gain weight. After stopping the pill at 21 the weight I gained dropped off and my self-confidence went up loads. I asked specifically for Yasmin but the FPA would not prescribe it as it was too expensive and told me to try my GP. She gave me Brevinor instead.     When i first started to take brevinor i ahd been changed from microgynon 30 as it didnt seem to be helping the pain of my periods as effectively as before. As with all new pills i was told that there would be some break-through bleeding but i didnt stop bleeding for three weeks, had constant headaches and was extremely bloated. I thought I was alone but got talking to another lady who had been on it for nearly two months and had hardly stopped bleeding in that time.
