I used to visit Bridgemere Garden World a few times a year up until I went off to university 3 years ago. However, a few days ago I decided to go and visit with my girlfriend, and oh how it has changed.
Firstly some general information. Bridgemere Garden World is located on the A51, seven miles outside of Nantwich in Cheshire. It is very easy to locate as it is signposted well from all major roads in the area. For those who need to travel on the ... ...area known simply as the Bridgemere Gardens. Admission is free as with all parts of the centre. The point of this section is to provide inspiration for gardeners of all abilities. Mock ups of the winners of the Chelsea Flower Show and the Tatton Park show are created here. In addition, the television show Gardeners' Diary was filmed here. The gardens combine old traditional ideas with more modern contemporary ones.

Advantages: Plenty of choice with beautiful gardens to wander through Disadvantages: Little seating and somewhat more expensive than your average garden centre
My very first visit to Bridgemere Garden World was during late summer, 2001. I’d recently moved to South Cheshire and having seen the ads in the local newspaper decided that I wanted to visit what sounded like one humungous garden centre! Even so, I can honestly say that I hadn’t anticipated anything quite as large as Bridgemere.
Covering more than 6 acres, this is a gardener’s dream come true! Thousands upon thousands of plants are for sale and, ... ...we decided to pop into Bridgemere on the way home to pick one up. It wouldn’t be entirely honest of me to say that they didn’t have one, but those they had were far too large for a pot on our patio. They were easily a meter in both height and width and at £27.50, out of our price range. We wanted one half the size that we could enjoy watching grow from year to year. Unfortunately, it was the big ‘un or nothing. The same applied to most other rhododendrons. ...

Advantages: The one-stop-gardening shop. If Bridgemere don't sell it, then it doesn't exist!! Disadvantages: Easy to find and get to, however, not very accessible on foot.
Bridgemere Garden World is situated on the A51, just south of Nantwich and off junction 15 and 16 on the M6. It is set over 6 acres, so you imagine my amazement at the vast amount of plants, shrubbs and flowers they sell. I was particularly pleased with the range of garden accessories Bridgmere stock. The friendly staff helped with carrying my heavy "buys" into my trolley and offerred to help me to my car. To the rear of the garden centre is a large ... ...used regularly on a gardening programme - and I can understand why. I found that Bridgemere Garden World isn't just "another garden centre" - it's much more than that. I could easily spend a whole day there just looking at the different plants and getting ideas for my own garden. ...
