Advantages: Nightlife, Education, Vibe, Atmosphere. Disadvantages: Not that cheap, accomodation bit of a distance away.
Brighton University, first time around, was my second choice. That was 3 years ago. Now I have finished the first year of my course there, and have to say it should have been first choice straight from the start.
The University itself is situated approx 1 mile from the centre, a bit of a trek, but found that the buses and trains are fabulous.
If you are looking for a University which has the student as the top priority, the education and facilities ... ...reason why everyone is genuinely friendly to each other, and attitude is a no-no.
I urge anyone thinking about Brighton to make a visit. Take a weekend off, and check the place out. It isnt as cheap as some Uni's, but, by God, it makes up for it in quality! ...

Advantages: location, nightlife, facilities Disadvantages: can be expensive
I graduated from Brighton University last summer after four years there doing a degree in education and business studies.
The university is spread over several campuses some closer to the city centre than others. I was at the Falmer campus which is right on the outskirts of the city about a ten minute drive from the centre. The facilities there were average with a student bar, cafe restaurant, large library and computer suite. Parking there is limited ... ...courses are top quality.
Brighton itself is a fantastic place to live. There is a mix of different places to live - I would recommend investigating the area you choose as some areas do have a bit of a bad reputation. The nightlife is great and varied with everything from gay clubs to 80's nights plus the more mainstream nights. All clubs cater towards the student scene with discounts available to students union members.
Shopping is also good in ...

Advantages: Great place to live Disadvantages: not always that supportive
...in my 2nd year at brighton uni, and I am still excited everytime I see the sea! (that's what growing up in London does to you!).
The uni is split over a few campuses, and where you are based will tend to dictate where you live. There is a campus in Eastbourne, but I only ever hear bad things about being there - nothing to do, too far away from anything.
I am based at the Falmer site, which involves quite an annoying little bus journey (it stops ... ...such a great place.
Brighton has something for everyone, and is very tolerant of all 'types' of people. It has music for everyone, on the whole it divides into r&b or Indie, but there is really everything from world music to drum and bass to hard house.
It is quite expensive to live here, not much different from London really, but it's a wonderful place to belong to.................ahhhhhhhh.........can you feel the cheesy smile?! ...

Advantages: Friendly, Sociable & an overall great city Disadvantages: Busy, quite costly to live here
I have been at Brighton Uni for 2 years now, studying BA Education at Falmer. Lovely place, environment is clean, people are generally nice and friendly and the facilities are all 5*. I would recommend Brighton Uni as it has literally everything you need to succeed in getting the degree you want. The student life is also amazing! I started off living at Paddock Field village the student living accomodation at Falmer campus, lovely rooms, en-suite, ... ...evenings to the many nightclubs Brighton offers... Falmer has a big library, mainly for the education department and english but still focuses on many more subjects. Computers are available most of the day until late evening aswell as some days during the holiday periods. I am now living in a 4 bedroom shared house with 3 pharmacy students, I got on well with the people from the halls but I wanted a change, so I have moved to Hollingdean, just outside ...

Advantages: Great facilities, good variations of courses to study, nightlife is great Disadvantages: To much temptation to go to town, must be disciplined!!!
I studied at Brighton University from 1999 - to 2002, and can 100% say that they were the best three years of my life. Anyone thats knows Brighton will agree that the nightlife is fantastic, with a great range of bars/clubs night that cater for any taste in music. Great restaurants and other eateries, you can't fail to find what you want. Shopping is brilliant as well, even for those on a tight budget!
Most of my uni friends loved Brighton so much ... ...I unfortunately had to move out of the arrear due to lack of job prospects for my career choice, but I still visit at every opportunity!
The Uni. You couldn't ask for anything more, the range and variations of courses that you can study is commendable, the facilities are top notch and the library (over three floors) will more than cater for your needs. There are 3 canteens and various coffee and stationary shops dotted around the complex.
For first ...
