The 7 Promises of Eragon Shadeslayer and Saphira Bjartskular

AdvantagesCharacters, the tale, the action, Paolini's care and attention

DisadvantagesIt dragged a lot in parts

"...extended it to four books. Brisingr is the third chapter in the cycle, with the promise of the fourth being published just as soon as he's finished writing it. If you are planning to read this, then I strongly suggest you read Eragon and Eldest, the first two books in the cycle. The books are best read as a series, as those I have spoken to who have read the books out of sequence have been rather unimpressed, and confused, with the whole thing. ..." Read review

It does DRAGON a bit (sorry for the bad pun)

AdvantagesGreat imaginative world, good characters and descriptions

DisadvantagesPlot a bit muddled, some disapppointing anticlimaxes

"Brisingr is the third of four in the Inheritance Cycle, a series currently being written by Christopher Paolini. === Intro === Eragon, the main character in the series, and name of the first book, came into being when Christopher Paolini started to write the novel aged 15, after completing his high school diploma. Upon completion and publication in 2003, the book immediately hit success, becoming the third highest selling hardback book of 2003, ..." Read review

Fire? More like a flickering matchstick that never lights.

AdvantagesEasy to read

DisadvantagesWhy woulds you want to read it?

""Brisingr" means 'fire' in the ancient language of the world Paolini has created; unfortunately, 'fire' is exactly what this story lacks. In fact, it plods. Conversations are followed by internal moralising (of a very limited nature) which is followed by some political debate (ie. more conversation) and every once in a while there is an extended action sequence (more on these later). I find it very revealing that this should have been the final title ..." Read review

Brisingr review- drags on but awesome!!!

Advantagesan intriguing and exciting fantasy!

Disadvantagesdrags on a bit, and i have to wait for the fourth!

"...the inheritance cycle so far, Brisingr is an action filled read and a big development of the first two. Paolini's writing has clearly matured and his story becomes more dimensional. It is full of fantasy, darkness, evil, and excitement. If you enjoyed the first two of the cycle, i would definitely recommend the third. The middle is slow, but the last few chapters more than make up for it with dramatic relevations and exciting battles. Definitely ..." Read review

If you read the first two, you better make sure you read this!

AdvantagesExciting from the first page, explains a lot about the series

DisadvantagesEnds abruptly, have to have read the first 2 books to understand anything

""Brisingr" by Christopher Paolini is a very exciting book, and is the 3rd book in the Inheritance series. The main character of this book, and the series, is Eragon, a young farm boy who becomes a legendary, heroic Dragon Rider. With his dragon, Saphira, they travel across the land of Alagesia, in an attempt to win the war against the evil king, Galbatorix, and his dark army. This book focuses on the beginning of the open war, where the Varden (the ..." Read review

Brisingr Book Review

Advantagesawesome storyline

Disadvantageslengthy

"Brisingr is the third novel in the highly acclaimed Inheritance Cycle of books written by the young author Christopher Paolini. Although this was supposed to be the last book, it did come as a shock for all fans to know that there will be another book in the series and that the Inheritance Trilogy has been extended to the Inheritance Cycle. I just finished reading this book a couple of days ago and like the previous other novels, I was once again ..." Read review

Brisingr Review

AdvantagesBrilliant story again, great re-read value.

DisadvantagesI can't really think of any. It's a little long but for me that's an advantage.

"Brisingr is definately the best book in the Inheritance cycle to be released yet. Story - ***** Probably the best book in the series yet (still waiting on the final book to be released). There's not much to say other than wow. It's just that good. It has a great start, just like in Eldest, bringing you right back to the world of Alagaesia. Lots of twists, turns and bumps, it keeps you interested until the very end, which has the final and biggest ..." Read review
