All their cars are faulty!

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Everything!

...I purchased a car from Bristol Trade Centre. I am so streesed and upset by the experience I am starting to feel ill! I have had the car 3 months, it has been back to them 3 times for the same problem and its still not fixed. The car is at present sat on my drive completely useless! I have written to the manager requesting a refund. They offered me an exchange but when i went to look for something else this too was faulty and they wanted me to start ...
...I have already paid. They have said i'm not paying any more a month so whats my problem!! I have written again stating that I do not want an "exchange" but i want the money back i've so far paid and the credit agreement cancelled. I have been in touch with trading standards but have yet to hear back. How are such a big company getting away with this, aren't there governing bodies out there that protect innocent people like us? Has anyone out there ...

Read the paperwork carefully

Advantages: Some of their cars are not that bad
Disadvantages: Run by ruthless, lying, arrogant management

I must be honest, we are delighted with our new Vectra and it is running very well, however the experience getting there has been somewhat stressful. We were offered £2000 part exchange, which we were not happy with so we walked away. A salesman actually chased us out to our car and offered us the £3000 that we were looking for, so we agreed to go ahead with £2500 deposit and £2000 finance. After being pushed to leave a deposit, we returned the ...
...We were surprised that this whole process only took 30 minutes, and left feeling quite pleased, as we overheard several people saying that they had been waiting around for over two hours. When we got home we looked over the paperwork again only to discover that £3000 had been put on finance, I called the next day so they could correct their mistake only to be told that the extra £1000 was for various insurances and guarantees. We definitely never ...

Advantages: 0000,00

...like to inform you about BRISTOL TRADE CENTRE. Few weeks ago I bought a car from them, and basically, I can say that is my worse experience as a customer since I am living in this country. as I discover in the internet that I am not the only one who is not happy about them. To be honnest I was very naive, I just trusted them thinking that they were honnest. BTC sold me a car with lot of problems, firstly I had to wait a week before taking the car. ...
...problem of code etc...the first day I took the car I arrived at home and as soon as I parked on the street the petrol was pourring a lot, it was really scary because both me and my girlfriend had cigarettes in our hands. when I return there they did not bothered at all making me wait more than 2 hours. and finally telling me to leave the car and come back the following day. amazingly it was 2 other customers very angry and complaining. The other ...

Don't Get Sucked In!!!

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Dodgy vehicles sold, appauling customer service, very stressfull

I bought a car from BTC that cost £5000.00. It was only 2 years old with 21,000 miles on the clock. The salesman promised the earth to me. If I left the car with them for two weeks before I collected it they would sort various things out such as filling in a scratch on the paintwork, new wheel covers and a full valet amongst various other things. On collection nothing had been done to the car since I last saw it! and I had made another 3 hour journey ...
...things such as a manual and a jack and a toe rope loop etc. So, I went back down to the salesman who proceeded to take these things out of another car of the same model, therefore leaving some other unsuspecting person without them! When I eventually drove away in my new car I discovered it had many things wrong with it including the fact that I was driving with my feet in a puddle of water whenever it rained. They made me make another 3 hour journey ...

Don't buy a used car from BTC!

Advantages: Very good at making the sale
Disadvantages: Crap after sales

I bought a VW Golf GTi from BTC recently. I was encouraged to part ex my old car and take this one home the same day as the salesman would earn extra commission. This suited me at the time and I arranged to take the car back up (130 mile round trip) to have the cambelt service, valet! etc done then. A courtesy car was provided and the cambelt service and brake discs & pads etc were replaced. As I collected the car, they didn't have time to do the ...
...disgustingly filthy on the inside) and noone had looked at the poor acceleration issue until i mentioned it again, result an air intake sensor had gone. result - to be booked back in 2 weeks time for another round trip of 130 miles and another day in an awful Daewood Matiz. As it happens, I also had negotiated in the deal a new key which had arrived but not been programmed. I left the car with them on the 2nd visit for 3 days - during which time ...

A room full of Arthur Daleys?

Advantages: Big choice
Disadvantages: Dodgy reputation, hard sell

BTC has had some terrible reviews on ciao, but my experience with them was ok. I bought a Ford Fiesta LX for £6400 (screen price £7000) and it's just gone in for its 1st service since I've had it. Nothing bad to report, the car is fine. I did get a hard sell at the centre, but that's pretty much par for the course with 2nd hand car dealers! As always the trick is to insist on a lower price and stick to your guns, and be prepared to walk away if ...
...you they can't possibly go any lower. I think I could have got more off than I did - I'd say aim for 10-12% and under no circumstances accept less than 5 or 6% discount. I haven't had any cause to use the aftersales, which I hear is awful. And one of the tyres got a flat after a month or so, when I had it changed the guy at the tyre place told me it was a van tyre and was very surprised to see it on my little fiesta. I suspect that they had a flat ...

Quick review of Bristol Trade Centre Car Supermarket

Reading these reviews does not surprise me because of the way Bristol Trade Centre was ran, the good news is that in August 2007 their was a New Managing Director who taken over and has made drastic changes to a lot of things, there is now vehicles bought from suppliers which are better condition, better mileage and warranties issued to each sale. Professional Sales executives are now in place and there is a better friendly atmosphere. There is now a main aftersales department in which problems are quickly solved. All round Bristol Trade Centre is now a very professional place to buy a decent car at low cost. ...

Purchased a Renault Clio from BTC in May 2007 for £4000. Since day 1 they have proved unhelpful, taking several weeks to get the MOT certificate to me, then claiming they could not find the service history, which they now claim they never had. Subsequently failed to fix a recurring problem with the car claiming it was not covered by their warranty. Never return phone calls and have been extremely unhelpful at every step of the process. Now stand to lose over £2000 on the sale of this car due to the lack of service history ...

ABSOLUTELY SAW US COMING

Advantages: lol NOTHING
Disadvantages: everything

I do wish I'd have read these reviews before I went there and got totally ripped off! The whole set up is a fake! When we wanted to secure a car on finance the salesman laughed at us wanting to borrow from the bank, he assured us if we took finance from them it would be cheaper interest rates than a mortgage! So we chose the car, waited for 3 hours, felt totally knackered, signed our lives away, then got home and realised what a mistake we made. ...

Avoid like the plague!

Advantages: Lots of (questionable) choice
Disadvantages: No aftersales service, prone to stealing (allegedly)

I can honestly say I have never had such a hellish car buying experience. I purchased a car in December. Within 1 mile of leaving the showroom the engine management light came on. After repeatedly trying to get them to fix this with no success, I paid to have the problem fixed myself. Cost: £260. Several months later the problem recurred. This time a sensor had failed (around £50). I was still having no success with BTC (who say it is not their ...

Rip Off Merchants

Advantages: Let me know if you find any
Disadvantages: Everything

I went to BTC not seeing any reviews - i wish I had. Salesmen were pushy and didnt give me chance to breath! They took £1100 off me as deposit for a car on credit. I changed my mind and cancelled the agreement the next day (hadnt even got the car yet) and they refused to refund the deposit. When I cancelled the salesman was extremely rude and made me feel intimidated as he tried to bully me not to cancel. I tried to complain to the manager but ...
...fighting to get my deposit back (which I am entitled to under the consumer credit act). They even tried to tell me I couldnt cancel the agreement so I am also reporting them to the FTA Financial Service Authority and the Office of Fair Trading. Avoid at all costs! ...

Don't buy from Bristol Trade Centre.

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Lots

If you are considering buying from these people,DON'T...I got taken in by them and am now bordering on small claims court with them. They will appear to be caring, helpful and extremely efficient when you approach them, they will suck you in, brainwash you and once you've signed and 'accepted' that vehicle you have more chance of becomming pope than of any after sales service...and after service YOU WILL NEED, I can assure you, you will probably ...
