...I purchased a car from Bristol Trade Centre. I am so streesed and upset by the experience I am starting to feel ill! I have had the car 3 months, it has been back to them 3 times for the same problem and its still not fixed. The car is at present sat on my drive completely useless! I have written to the manager requesting a refund. They offered me an exchange but when i went to look for something else this too was faulty and they wanted me to start ...

Advantages: Some of their cars are not that bad Disadvantages: Run by ruthless, lying, arrogant management
I must be honest, we are delighted with our new Vectra and it is running very well, however the experience getting there has been somewhat stressful.
We were offered £2000 part exchange, which we were not happy with so we walked away. A salesman actually chased us out to our car and offered us the £3000 that we were looking for, so we agreed to go ahead with £2500 deposit and £2000 finance.
After being pushed to leave a deposit, we returned ...

Advantages: 0000,00 Disadvantages: all
...like to inform you about BRISTOL TRADE CENTRE. Few weeks ago I bought a car from them, and basically, I can say that is my worse experience as a customer since I am living in this country. as I discover in the internet that I am not the only one who is not happy about them.
To be honnest I was very naive, I just trusted them thinking that they were honnest.
BTC sold me a car with lot of problems, firstly I had to wait a week before taking the ...

I bought a car from BTC that cost £5000.00. It was only 2 years old with 21,000 miles on the clock. The salesman promised the earth to me. If I left the car with them for two weeks before I collected it they would sort various things out such as filling in a scratch on the paintwork, new wheel covers and a full valet amongst various other things. On collection nothing had been done to the car since I last saw it! and I had made another 3 hour journey ...

Advantages: Very good at making the sale Disadvantages: Crap after sales
I bought a VW Golf GTi from BTC recently. I was encouraged to part ex my old car and take this one home the same day as the salesman would earn extra commission. This suited me at the time and I arranged to take the car back up (130 mile round trip) to have the cambelt service, valet! etc done then. A courtesy car was provided and the cambelt service and brake discs & pads etc were replaced. As I collected the car, they didn't have time to do the ...

Advantages: Big choice Disadvantages: Dodgy reputation, hard sell
BTC has had some terrible reviews on ciao, but my experience with them was ok. I bought a Ford Fiesta LX for £6400 (screen price £7000) and it's just gone in for its 1st service since I've had it. Nothing bad to report, the car is fine.
I did get a hard sell at the centre, but that's pretty much par for the course with 2nd hand car dealers! As always the trick is to insist on a lower price and stick to your guns, and be prepared to walk away if ...

Reading these reviews does not surprise me because of the way Bristol Trade Centre was ran, the good news is that in August 2007 their was a New Managing Director who taken over and has made drastic changes to a lot of things, there is now vehicles bought from suppliers which are better condition, better mileage and warranties issued to each sale. Professional Sales executives are now in place and there is a better friendly atmosphere. There is now a main aftersales department in which problems are quickly solved. All round Bristol Trade Centre is now a very professional place to buy a decent car at low cost.

Purchased a Renault Clio from BTC in May 2007 for £4000. Since day 1 they have proved unhelpful, taking several weeks to get the MOT certificate to me, then claiming they could not find the service history, which they now claim they never had. Subsequently failed to fix a recurring problem with the car claiming it was not covered by their warranty. Never return phone calls and have been extremely unhelpful at every step of the process. Now stand to lose over £2000 on the sale of this car due to the lack of service history

I do wish I'd have read these reviews before I went there and got totally ripped off!
The whole set up is a fake! When we wanted to secure a car on finance the salesman laughed at us wanting to borrow from the bank, he assured us if we took finance from them it would be cheaper interest rates than a mortgage!
So we chose the car, waited for 3 hours, felt totally knackered, signed our lives away, then got home and realised what a mistake we made. ...

Advantages: Lots of (questionable) choice Disadvantages: No aftersales service, prone to stealing (allegedly)
I can honestly say I have never had such a hellish car buying experience.
I purchased a car in December. Within 1 mile of leaving the showroom the engine management light came on. After repeatedly trying to get them to fix this with no success, I paid to have the problem fixed myself. Cost: £260. Several months later the problem recurred. This time a sensor had failed (around £50). I was still having no success with BTC (who say it is not their ...

Advantages: Let me know if you find any Disadvantages: Everything
I went to BTC not seeing any reviews - i wish I had.
Salesmen were pushy and didnt give me chance to breath! They took £1100 off me as deposit for a car on credit. I changed my mind and cancelled the agreement the next day (hadnt even got the car yet) and they refused to refund the deposit.
When I cancelled the salesman was extremely rude and made me feel intimidated as he tried to bully me not to cancel. I tried to complain to the manager but ...

If you are considering buying from these people,DON'T...I got taken in by them and am now bordering on small claims court with them. They will appear to be caring, helpful and extremely efficient when you approach them, they will suck you in, brainwash you and once you've signed and 'accepted' that vehicle you have more chance of becomming pope than of any after sales service...and after service YOU WILL NEED, I can assure you, you will probably also ...
