Advantages Advantages Lots of (questionable) choice

Disadvantages Disadvantages No aftersales service, prone to stealing (allegedly)

I can honestly say I have never had such a hellish car buying experience. I purchased a car in December. Within 1 mile of leaving the showroom the engine management light came on. After repeatedly trying to get them to fix this with no success, I paid to have the problem fixed myself. Cost: £260. Several months later the problem recurred. This time a sensor had failed (around £50). I was still having no success with BTC (who say it is not their responsibility as they were bought out). I decided I would simply utilise the "5 star" 3 year warranty I had purchased with the car for £900 only to ... more

I went to BTC not seeing any reviews - i wish I had. Salesmen were pushy and didnt give me chance to breath! They took £1100 off me as deposit for a car on credit. I changed my mind and cancelled the agreement the next day (hadnt even got the car yet) and they refused to refund the deposit. When I cancelled the salesman was extremely rude and made me feel intimidated as he tried to bully me not to cancel. I tried to complain to the manager but he was always 'in a meeting'. I am still fighting to get my deposit back (which I am entitled to under the consumer credit act). They even tried to tell ... more

If you are considering buying from these people,DON'T...I got taken in by them and am now bordering on small claims court with them. They will appear to be caring, helpful and extremely efficient when you approach them, they will suck you in, brainwash you and once you've signed and 'accepted' that vehicle you have more chance of becomming pope than of any after sales service...and after service YOU WILL NEED, I can assure you, you will probably also need councelling too...it is that bad! They sold me a vehicle for £8.000 and sent me off with less money than I went there with and an ... more

Not being from the bristol area, we didnt know about BTC's terrible rep,we went down there and seen a £11.000 car, we was offered £5000 for ours and left a £1000 deposit, later to recieve a phone call telling us the car is now £12000 and they can only give us £3500 for our car but wont give deposit back,. The matter was later rectified but they tried there level best to rip us off, the car i bought lasted 3 months until it needed new ANTI ROLL BARS replacing and the ENTIRE PROP SHAFTgiving us hefty repair bills, no warranty was ever mentioned to us by BTC, weve had numerous problems with the ... more

After buying a vw passat from bristol trade centre last year I have had no end of trouble from the company and customer service. I found that they sales people will tell you anything to get you to buy the car and to sell you additional products. Dont be fooled like I was by there nice tone of voice as they act like your friends but all that they come out with is lies and different ways to screw more money out of you. A few problems I had were: I was told I would recieve a like for like car if I had a problem with my car when in fact this was not the case they wanted to give a tiny 1.0 ... more

I just collected my new 61 plate corsa yesterday, and I love it. Every one at Lookers Trade Centre Bristol was very helpful. The finance was quick and painless, well as much as it could of been! I spent most of the afternoon yesterday driving it and its great! Thanks a bunch! I was going to get a VW Golf but due to insurance issues I had to go for something smaller, but was shown this corsa as an alternative and it was perfect, a lot cheaper on the insurance. The collection went without a hitch, when I got there I just had to sign a few bits of paper and then the car was mine, mot'd, taxed and ... more

these people taken £300 off me for doing nothing they should be closed down bad business they was willing to take money from me and not give service, I will never set foot at that place again. I paid a deposit of £300 on an old mercedes but because it was so old I could not get a loan on this, I told them about it, and I was told tuff, I told him that you know that I can not get credit on this car, so why take the money, he told me to get lost, so he had £300 for doing nothing, I wish I could make money like that, no wonder that they are well off, should not be aload. ... more
