Midget Power To The Rescue

Advantagesa good solid professional Organisation

DisadvantagesNONE

"...and in the case of Britannia Rescue I am firmly of the opinion that they are one of the most under rated Roadside Assistance/Rescue organisations in the UK....We've been voted Road Rescue 'Best Buy' for the 4th consecutive time by the UK's leading consumer testing magazine - and the following pages show you why. o0o I have been a member since 1986 when I joined through working for the Local Government and being a member of Unison, they were ..." Rescue me

AdvantagesVery efficient; brilliant customer care; reasonable prices

DisadvantagesNone

"Britannia Rescue may be one of the least well known of the breakdown organisations, and they obviously have much smaller marketing budgets than the AA or RAC, but what they lack for in size they make up for in quality. ~ THE COMPANY ~ Britannia Rescue is owned by the Civil Service Motoring Association (CSMA) which is a private, non profit making leisure and motoring organisation. (Membership of the CSMA is limited to those who currently work ..." Read review

Simply the best

AdvantagesGreat service,prompt response,good value

Disadvantagesfound none in nearly 20 years

"I have been with britannia rescue for nearly 20 years and in all that time i can honestly say they have never let me down when i have needed them which in the early years due to me running old bangers and dodgy motorbikes was probably a couple of times a year. The longest i have ever waited for assistance was 35 minutes on a cold frosty boxing day a number of years ago when i totalled my motorbike into the back of a lorry. The shortest wait was ..." Britannia Rescue

AdvantagesFast Reliable Rescue Service

DisadvantagesNone

"...have been a member of BRITANNIA RESCUE for the last ten years. I have had new cars in the last ten years until August last year when my Skoda Octavia was written off following an RTA and had never needed BRITANNIA RESCUE's services. In November my brother gave me a Vauxhall Astra (F Reg). The car has not been particularly reliable and has broken down several times. I managed to coax the engine back into life on several of these occaisions (I used ..." Read review

Reliable Britannia Rescue

Advantagescost, speed of response, helpful telephone staff and drivers, nothing too much trouble.

DisadvantagesNothing I can think of.

"I took out Britannia cover many years ago and was drawn to them by recommendation by a family member. I liked that I could cover the car, regardless of driver, rather than covering the driver. Over the years, I have changed vehicles and covered more than one vehicle on the same policy when I have owned classic cars. Britannia don't have restrictions on age of vehicle, to my knowledge. Cost was the other factor important to me - cheaper than the competition. The ..." Read review

PROMPT AND EFFICIENT

AdvantagesEFFICIENT, CURTEOUS

Disadvantagesnone

"...have been a member of Britannia rescue for about 10 years and never had to call them out till the other week when i broke down at 11.30 pm on a dark country road 5 miles from anywhere. I had my mobile with me so i put a call to britannia Rescue. I was told someone would be with me in about 30 minutes ans to sit in the car with the lights on in case someone else ran into me. Just 8 minutes later a local garage brakdown truck turned up and got under ..." Read review

To the rescue

AdvantagesSecurity and total peace of mind.

Disadvantagesnone that i've found.

"10 years with no cover and numerous breakdowns I asked friends where the best value for money could be found. I tried another organisation and felt patronised and disillusioned. Then a friend recommended Brittania. For less than £90 I ended up with prompt reliable cover fully comprehensive including my partner and any car. I have called them 4 times. Twice for flat tyre - I felt like a useless typical woman, unable to change a tyre! I shouldn't ..." Read review

Confessions of a Garage Mechanic

AdvantagesUses 'local' garages, different types of cover to suite

DisadvantagesNone

"I've been a member of Britannia Rescue for over three years, having previous been in the AA. I've called Britannia out five times in the three years and every time the service has been faultless. 1) Broken wipers during servere storm and local floods; came within the hour, with a phone call to say mechanic on his way. 2) Puncture on sloping driveway; arrived within 20 min 3) Radiator protector panel partially dropped off at speed on the ..." I'm not driving in my car.

"Stating the obvious first, this review is on the Brittania Rescue breakdown service. Owned by the Civil Service Motoring Association, it is onnly possible to become a member if you work for some local government services. However, that said close family members (but no other relatives) can join - spouse/ partner and/or children. My dad worked for the Civil Service in Plymouth, and I joined through him. It costs me £52 a year to be a member, and ..." Read review

Excellent Service from Start to Finish!

AdvantagesVery good service

Disadvantageserr nothing

"I have been with Britannia Rescue for 3 years and have called them out 4 times. Each time they got to me in about 45 minutes which was good. The phone customer service is very good and helpful. Each time I have had a callout, they seem to use the best recovery agents in the area as each mechanic has sorted the problem out at the roadside and all of them were friendly. I used the service only 2 days ago when the car would not turn over, I have ..." Read review

MY KNIGHT IN SHINING ARMOUR!

AdvantagesSUPER FAST-COURTEOUS-SUPERB VALUE FOR MONEY

DisadvantagesNONE, ZIP, ZILCH, ZERO

"I joined Britannia because I worked for the civil service, we got preferential rates. I began driving with a couple of old bangers, the usual story, and felt I needed the protection and back-up of breakdown cover. It was great value for money, and for a couple of years I was lucky enough to have trouble free driving. However, one day I was flying up the M5 in my Fiat Tempra station wagon with my two little boys in the back. We were on our way from ..." Read review

Slow response times

Advantagesprice

Disadvantagesdo not bother to check that their contractors can really attend in times they give

"Joined Brittania through CSMA as price was good. Used them twice in 2 years and each time they took 2 hours to arrive. Both breakdowns were in populated areas which were easy to get to and neither were in peak breakdown periods. Problem seems to be that they use contractors who basically will lie about how quick they can get there so they get the job. each time I was told help would arrive within the hour, but Brittania don't check with customer to ..." NOT INTERESTED IN FIXING JUST TOWING

AdvantagesResponded in reasonable time

DisadvantagesNo interest /ability in geting the car going.

"The above summarises the reponse to my vehicle stopping due to running out of fuel, due to a faulty fuel guage. There was from the ouset no interest ( or ability?) in diagnosing the problem. The car was transported to a garage , which charged £100+ to work out that the car had run out of fuel and put some diesel in it! Will look at alternative services. As I am obliged to enter another 50 words in order for the feedback to be published (although ..." Read review

Britannia Rescue

AdvantagesCheap, fast, reliable

DisadvantagesNone

"...are no recent reviews for Britannia so thought it was time one was added. I joined because as a civil servant i got a cheap deal, but the service has surprised me and I can't see me leaving for one of the other main stream providers unless they have a drastic reduction in price. I pay about £70 for all singing and dancing cover. This is far cheaper than AA and the likes that charge over £100 for the equivalent. I have only used Britannia ..." Read review
