He calls it 'me new car seat'

Advantages: The Security of the Britax Name, longevity of use
Disadvantages: Installation difficulties might put some people off

...the US, we took our Britax Eclipse on the plane, but noticed that our son’s feet were unavoidably cramped against the seat in front – the Eclipse is quite bulky, so we didn’t fancy trying to package it up with our checked luggage either. As such, we decided to look for an alternative solution, and we settled on the Britax Trio. To me, Britax is to car seats what Hoover is to Vacuum Cleaners – they are the natural choice as experts in the field. ...

Keeping your options open

Advantages: Three modes of transport in one
Disadvantages: A bit heavy and clumsy to use

I bought a Britax Travel System back in 1999 when I was expecting my first daughter. It was quite expensive, about £300 in total. The most important point for me was that it included a carrycot, which could be attached to the chassis wheels to make a proper pram. I was very anxious to make sure that she could lie completely flat so that I could let her sleep in her pram without worrying. The pram is my favourite mode for the travel system, and ...
...out draughts so she was nice and cosy, and she was able to take her naps in it when she was downstairs. I used it in this mode until she was six months old, although most mums do move on to a pushchair before then. The main disadvantage is that when it is set up as a pram it won't fold flat to go into a car boot without unclipping and removing the carrycot from the chassis. But the travel system also includes a Rock a Tot carseat (useful up to about ...

...was not much choice. The Britax and Silver Cross seemed the 2 options. After a lot of looking around we decided to go the whole hog and buy the Travel system with the carrycot. And well we are now 2.5 years down the lane and I still love it and use it several times a week (even though I now have 2 kids who both at times need a ride) It is lovely to look at, such a nice drive and a good height for the handlebar (I am quite tall) We bought it in the ...
...how to. (I believe that Britax have now made a new model where you dont need to take off the actual pushchair seat to fix the car-seat so that should solve the time issue) Also as it is meant for inter changing the covers comes off easily and washes beautifully and without any trouble at all. (always handy) A extra bonus for me is the fact that it has a VERY LARGE shopping basket at the bottom. AND it is so easily assessable. When I am out shopping ...

Do you get what you pay for ??

Advantages: Good value for money
Disadvantages: Doesn't recline

The Britax Trio Car Seat has received a lot of bad press recently, as a Which survey put it in its top 100 worse baby seats. We've had this seat over a year now, and have found it generally good value. The main advantage of this seat is its versatility. It is suitable from 9 months to almost 9 years old, as the straps and back are both removable. However there are two major disadvantages: Firstly and most importantly it does not recline. This means ...
...budget, and want a seat that will last for years, then the Britax Trio is perfect. It is worthwhile however going to a store such as Mothercare or Halfords that fit the seat for you, so as to re-assure yourself that your seat is correctly fitted, and your child safe. ...

Advantages: ease of use, adaptability, price

...in 1996 I bought the Britax Trio travel system which cost then approx £400 and is the best money ever spent. The system which incorporates a from birth pram which later converts into a pushchair and a from birth to 15 months car seat. The car sear however did neither of my children until they were 15 months, both being large babies, they had outrgown the car seat by about 9 months, and by about 6 months carrying them in it was almost impossible. ...

The covers were easy to remove and wash on both the seat and pram. I would definately recommend it ...

Well worth the money

Advantages: Very versatile seat
Disadvantages: Can be fiddly to fit

The trio is three seats in one, suitable for children from 9 months to 12 years old! Assuming you can keep them in a childseat that long. From 9 months to 4 years, it's a forward facing seat with a 5 point harness. Remove the harness at 4 years and you have a comfortable booster seat which will do nicely until the child is too tall for it. At this time, you can remove the back of the seat, converting it into a booster cushion. These seats retail ...

Fabulous System

Advantages: Very Comfortable for baby , huge basket
Disadvantages: Need to buy a buggy at about 15 months

When I was pregnant with my daughter I didn't have a clue as to which pram to buy. I knew that I wouldn't use a carrycot so decided that the Travel systems looked like the most cost effective option. I paid £170 ( i believe)from Toys R us, for mine and thought this was very good value. Lucy always looked extremely comfortable in the rock a tot and when she was very small it would often calm her too sit her in it and rock it. which could be done ...
...tot ( car seat) was very easy to get in and out of the car and with lucy in wasn't too heavy to carry around. The pram/buggy has a huge basket it and i could easily fit a days shopping at bluewater into it. It always felt very steady and not too heavy too manouevre around. The wheels can be locked or on swivel. There is a handy pocket which is useful for your purse/keys/mobile/dummies etc. The cosytoes appears to keep her very warm. It collapses ...

Be my Baby

Advantages: Very versatile
Disadvantages: pushchair is fairly heavy and bulky when folded

We bought our Britax Travel system on special offer from ToysRUs before our little boy was even born, and it has served us well ever since. The Britax may not be the most stylish, or the lightest of Travel Systems, but it offers very good value for money and Britax is a well known and trusted brand in the UK. All Britax Travel systems include a forward facing Pushchair/Pram which is fully reclinable and therefore suitable from birth, and a Group ...
...Travel systems include the new Britax Isofix system on their seats). The car seat is fitted to to pushchair by a lockable metal frame. This took a bit of time to get the hang of, as the frame must be locked onto the pushchair in exactly the right place before te car seat can be clipped onto it. The Britax Travel system also includes a nice large shopping basket at the bottom of the pushchair and a clip on foot muff. (You can also pay extra for a ...

Riding in style

Advantages: Made by Brittax, Maximum toddler protection, Room to grow
Disadvantages: May not fit every car

Having got to the age now where my daughter is comfortably getting in and out of a car seat by herself. My Wife and I finally decided to upgrade to buying a second car seat to avoid the hassle of swapping our original baby seat from her car to mine each weekend. The Trio incorporates a 5 point safety harness, for toddlers below 15Kg, and allows you to adapt the seat for a child right upto the age of about 11 years old. I found the seat easy to fit, especially with the help of the nice lady from the store where I bought ...

Trio Car Seat.

Advantages: non I can think of
Disadvantages: arkward to fit.

Having to move the Trio regularly from one car to another I find that the threading the seat belt through the seat around the back and back out and down to the seat belt catch, while the recoiling mechanism of the seat belt is working against you, makes the whole process very tedious and prone to twisiting of the seat belt it self. The catch on the harness is extremely poorly designed, having to match to sides of the harness clip together before ...

It's a real nightmare when the baby is crying and getting upset. The comfort pads which I suppect should be in front of the baby tend to position themselves more on top of the shoulder. The seat itself, when adjusted down to the accept the smallest child the head rest does not ...

Britax Travel Systems

Advantages: excellent design and name
Disadvantages: on the small side

First of all i must say that i am not in anyway saying that Britac Travel Systems are no good, i am just going to explain why it was no good for me! I bought on older design back in 1999, just different pattern not changed style at all since then, and it comprised of the Luxury carrycot, pushchair and carseat. Firstly the car seat was excellent and my son seemed very comfortable in it, however it was meant to last him until 9 months but had to change ...
...Eventually we put our son into the pushchair and again, he seemed very at ease in their howver again, he seemed to grow out of it very quickly and we soon bought a lightweight buggy! Now my recommendation is for people who now that they are going to have big or tall children......The Travel Systems seem to be on the small side and for us, they didnt last as long as we intended them to. We spent nearly £400 on all the items and our son didnt get much ...

Travel In Style

Advantages: Easy to Use
Disadvantages: None

When it was time to start shopping for that all important baby travel system it had to be the combined car seat and pushchair, this travel system was going to last me from newborn through to toddler stage. My friends had opted for the proper silver cross prams - what a waste of money, how long does a baby actually stay that small and putting it in and out the car is a nightmare. When my son was born I used the carseat attachment until he reached ...

It is so easy to fold down and open when pulling in and out of the car. The system consists of the following 1 x Car Seat & Attachment 1 x Travel System (Pushchair) There is a pocket attachment for you to put things in and a compartment by the push handles to store cans of pop - for when ...
