I first saw the Brother HL-1250 Laser Printer at Office World. (I know many people do not like this shop, but I found the staff very helpful on the day I visited).
Back to the printer. This printer system is computable with Epson, IMB, PCL6 and Windows emulation. The Windows drivers include features such as a ‘quick print set-up’ (allowing control of the print settings on the task bar) and ‘on screen help’. This copier is ideal to use within a professional environment, daily. It produces excellent print quality, whilst being economical enough to use at home as well. The Brother HL-1250 Laser Printer is versatile, being very fast yet reliable. Paper saving, power and toner saving facilities also help to make this machine a viable option for all needs. The print quality is impressive too, giving a crisp and clear graphic quality. It has a large 4Mb along with a powerful processor allowing this professional printer, to print twelve pages per minute and is claimed to be ‘exceptional’ with 1200 dots per inch and has a 500 sheet printing volume when a second 250 sheet is added.
The Brother HL-1250 Laser Printer having multiple emulation’s and print drivers ensures that compatibility wide a wide rang of computer environments. It has a USB and parallel ports, which allows connection to any system. The Ethernet interface also allows connection to the Internet.
The build quality of this printer also seems sound. The Brother HL-1250 Laser Printer is designed for durability, making this machine an ideal solution for all applications, from home to the office. The cost of this machine is £260.00 from Office World and includes a twelve-month guarantee.
I thought of including all the technical specifications within this opinion but felt it may confuse the non-techie minded such as myself and have written this opinion in a language that I understand. Needless to say I like this machine and will be using it in the future for in a home and study environment.

...had no previous experience of Brother printers, or any other make apart from HP, as I had owned 3 previous HP inkjets and had borrowed a LaserJet. SETTING UP THE PRINTER The set up of the printer was fantastically easy thanks to the provided quick setup guide. Having never set up a printer before, I don’t know what I would have done without the included poster. Instructions were precise and included pictures to help. 4. Grey text prints out black when using the Brother drivers. To fix this, I have the printer installed twice, once with the Brother drivers and once with the Windows ones, as the Windows ones print with the right colours but do not have all features of the Brother drivers.

The Brother HL1250 cost around £250 and was the best thing I have ever purchased. It is very reliable and can take up to 250 sheets at a time. It also has a manual feed which stops all the messing about just to print one envelope.
It can also be set up to print at 50% saving mode when printing draft documents saving you even more money on toners.
This is perfact for people that seem to constantly be printing for school or anything ...

For many years i had a slow unreliable ink jet printer. It could only take black and white ribbons and went through them in about a month. I decided to try out laser printers in the hope that it would cut down on running costs and would speed up my time spent printing off documents.
After having used this printer i can never see myself using another ink jet printer again. I have had the HL-1250 for just over 6 months and not had to change the toner ... ...have been astounded by the speed at which pages can be printed and the loading tray has saved me much time and effort. The tray is sturdy and has a very helpful gauge showing how much paper is left. A far cry from having to put in a new individual sheet everytime a new page is reached. ...We run a small office, and originally bought two Kyocera FS-600 laser printers for printing the small quantity of technical manuals that we produce. The Kyocera drums are supposed to be super-environment-friendly and last for 100,000 pages. Sadly, this proved not to be the case. After our fourth drum at a total of only 60,000 pages, the first printer was out of guarantee and we looked around for something else. Cost is of course important, but to us, print quality is a number one concern. After comparing lots of print-outs in PC World, we opted for a BrotherHL-1250. This printer ran wonderfully for a year, but when the drum needed replacing it turned out that we could buy a brand new BrotherHL-1440 for just £20 more than the cost of a new drum. This is a great printer for the price, we have three in different departments where I work and we don’t seem to have any problems with them.
If a Faster printer with higher resolution and more memory is required then its worth looking at it the BrotherHL1250 is exactly the same as the BrotherHL 1030 but with higher specs....

The printer drivers are included in the box and there is no need for parallel- to-USB cables since both are provided right on-board. Professional business-quality 1200 x 600 dpi graphics resolution combined with microfine toner produces sharp quality printing. Paper capacity is a staggering 250 sheets of letter size paper and the HL-1250 allows you to obtain optimum print quality on different media types, every time. An optional second paper cassette allows you to expand you paper capacity to 500 total sheets should the need arise.
