“Interferring little blighter”

Takes calls while you are on the internet

Gets on your T*ts

Oh boy, do I hate change! My beloved answerphone has been spurned and cast out by my flatmates! They never got the hang of how to play a message and tripped over the little thing every time they needed to reach the video cabinet. It's days were numbered - then erased. In an attempt to de-clutter...

A good idea!

1571 is available in two ways these days. You can pay for it; or you can get it free. Obviously you’d go for the free feature, but the one you pay for is fairly cheap and you can a lot of extras with it! **THE SERVICE YOU PAY FOR** This is a mere £4 a quarter - £1,25 a month – and has...

So please leave a message after the tone.... BEEEP! followed by a phone hanging up! Why is it that people seem to listen to the answerphone message and THEN decide to hang up? I dont think anyone has the answer to that. But BT have taken the sting out of paying £20 for an answerphone from a shop...

Free, works

None, I'm afraid

BT - bloody awful in terms of reputation, customer service, responsiveness and attention to detail. However, in terms of product offering, technology and ideas, I'm so bloody annoyed to say, BT actually have quite a lot going for them in terms of their goal of being a global, technological...

“FREE”

Free for me

Not free to the person calling

When we switched over telecom provider from our somewhat frustrating, and at times annoying Eurobell to BT, we were offered the option to have BT’s free 1571 answer service. Having had a similar service with our previous telecom provider, I was a little unsure to say the least. You see when...

The "free" service that's only "free" for the subscriber. BT have to make their money somehow I suppose, and this is how they do it. You can subscribe to BT 1571 answer service for free, by calling 0800 003 800 from a BT landline, or subscribe online at www.BT.com. The service allows your phone...

Free, easy to use, no 'physical' machine.

Need to have a BT phone line, not your own voice.

BT Answer 1571 is a free alternative to buying an answer machine for your home. Firstly, I must add, you have to have a BT line, so NTL users and alike - sorry this is not for you!! Basically the service is done entirely through your phone line and so you don't need to find a space for an answer...

“Nothing in life is free”

A free service

Only stores 10 messages

You do not get anything in life for free, that as a saying is fairly accurate. But you can get things free provided you can understand why the company is offering it in the first place. Remember companies want to make money, be it the company giving free virus protection or a company paying you...

“Is this thing on”

It's very handy

Costs the caller

Finally, a convincing way to stop being nagged to get off the internet because somebody MIGHT be ringing. In theorie, BT have come up with a very good service for there customers. In the services infantile stage it was not so reliable, and many customers were unsure whether it would be a success...

The Curse of BT1571: This has got to be the most inflexible answering service on the planet. You have absolutely no control over how it operates and the marketing ploy is that all new customers get it free, the truth of course is that the person calling gets charged for a connected call and you...

Hello everybody! I myself have this service, and I think that it is a good idea except that you don't know when you have a message. It allows plenty of time to be answered, which is a good thing, and is just as good as a real answerphone. It's free and easy to install, but there should be some...

Not for me

Free

But useless for some

A problem with the 1571 Text Alerts system that BT's website fails to point out at this date (7/6/07) is that if you have retained your mobile phone number and transfered it from another provider to either Virgin or T-mobile, the text alert sytem will simply not work. In other words, you may have...
