Hey Baby! Come and park your BUM over here!

Advantages: Durable, light. comfy, portable, a Godsend!
Disadvantages: Hefty price tag

...'''What is a Bumbo?''' A Bumbo is a seat, and it is designed for babies who can hold up their own head without it lolling around, but who are not old enough to be able to sit by themselves without assistance. The Bumbo has won awards for its innovative design and high safety standards. It can be used anywhere, you can take it to the beach, to other people's houses to feed your baby in, or as a parking spot for a baby when you are attending to another ...
...'''What does a Bumbo look like?''' Many people are mistaken for the Bumbo being a potty, as its a similar design of the babies legs peeking through holes at the front of the chair. There is a section at the front of the chair which is higher than the leg holes, this stops the baby from falling forward and supports their lumber joints. The back of the Bumbo is built even higher so that this helps the babies posture, and stops them from falling backwards! ...

A Bum Buy for us!

Advantages: Looks cute. Can be used for babies that can't sit unaided. Easy to clean.
Disadvantages: Our baby hated his. Expensive. A Bouncy chair does the same job for less.

...more traditional bouncy chairs, a Bumbo supports a baby in an upright position and the deep-cut leg-holes and the design of the chair mean that a more active baby can't (allegedly) get out of one of these by themselves. The Bumbo comes in a range of colours, including pink, blue and aqua. These seats weren't really around when my oldest was a tiny baby but they seemed really popular when I was expecting my youngest. I think they look really cute ...
...Unlike fabric baby seats, the Bumbo can just be wiped over with a damp cloth and, as it made of a rubbery foam material and comes in one piece, there isn't really anything to get broken or show signs of use. Having said that, the day we bought this our oldest was prancing around with it on his head and, from what I'm not sure, he left a small grease mark on the inside of the Bumbo that we never managed to get rid of! Typical! So long as you use this ...

...low for one of these bumbo chairs. This was when they took the UK b storm I do believe. We got one thought in babies r us. Though the only colour left was Aqua. Which was a nice colour actually. ================ The Bumbo Chair. ================ From what I can make out. The Bumbo chair came from South Africa and is one of the most clever inventions yet. A Baby Seat I'm Not Potty About

Advantages: portable, lightweight seat; comfortable design; baby can sit up unaided; wipes clean
Disadvantages: baby might not like it; it tips back in an unsafe way; only suitable for baby from 4 months and up to 22lb in weight

Bumbo baby seats are all the rage at the moment. The bumbo originated in South Africa, and has now taken the UK by storm. Cool babies have bumbos! The bumbo seat looks at first glance like a large foam potty. It's a peculiar looking seat that looks inflexible and uncomfortable, but the reverse is actually true. It is designed so that the babies own weight holds them securely and comfortably in position, with their bum lower than their legs. The base ...
...bouncy or recliner chairs, the bumbo supports baby in an upright position, which means a greater field of vision for curious little learners. Some babies can't wait to sit up on their own, as they realise they can see more from that perspective. Until they can sit unsupported it can be frustrating for them, which means the bumbo is a great alternative to being sat upright and supported by an adult. Hence the bumbo "babysitter" has more than one meaning! ...

Don't be a dumbo, get a Bumbo!

Advantages: Enables baby to sit unaided, so handy for parents.
Disadvantages: Can be dangerous as baby becomes more active, only got a few months use, quite expensive.

The Bumbo is a seat that enables babies to sit unaided. It can be used as soon as baby can lift their head - I would say at around 3 or 4 months. The Bumbo should stop being used when the child is able to remove themselves from the Bumbo - the company suggest at around 12 - 14 months but I would suggest around 11 months depending on how active and developed your baby is. The Bumbo is deep and has high sides and high back for support. There is also ...
...I brought a Bumbo for my daughter when she was around 4 months old and it was an immediate god send. She took to it instantly and really seemed to enjoy the independence of sitting up by herself. I would give her toys and surround her with toys so she wouldn't get bored and could make her own fun. She had just started on solid food but couldn't sit up by herself so a high chair was out of the question - feeding was made so easy for both of us thanks ...

Looks like an oversized potty (Bumbo Baby Seat)

Advantages: Lets you child sit unaided safely
Disadvantages: Baby could get out of it when they are older

...to wipe clean. The Bumbo is designed to support your baby in an upright position safely so it gives you peace of mind that they are safe so you can get on with what ever you need to (although I have read that when they get older they can wriggle out of it), it also lets them sit unaided with both hands free so they can play. My little girl loves this seat although one problem we did have was she kept dropping her toys and would then start crying ...
...chair, I will try the Bumbo again when she is a bit older. The Bumbos are not over expensive, Amazon have them at £27.95 with free delivery but I found that if you look in the new & used section (usually next to the main price) you can get a brand new one for £10 with £6 postage so a saving of over £10. There are also play trays available for these chairs, I do not have one but they look like quite a good idea, they give the chair a tray like you ...

A comfy looking but confining lump of foam

Advantages: Very stable and easy to use.
Disadvantages: Not good for and length of time.

This came highly recommended by a friend of mine at a time when I was looking for some way for my son to sit near me and see what I was doing while I worked on the computer. I liked the fact that it is stable enough to sit safely on the desk next to me and hold him securely while I got on with some work. After reading some of the other reviews on here, I was slightly less convinced that it was the solution to my problem, but I decided to give it ...
...which is about £30 - £40 depending on where you shop, I found one on ebay. There are loads of them on ebay (which also set me to wondering) but they still go for good money. I got mine for £20 and actually had a last minute scrap to get it. The chair itself is a formed lump of foam rubber. It's nice and substantial, and squishier than it looks, so more comfortable for baby. The cut outs at the front are for your baby's legs and the idea is that ...

Plonk Me Bum on Me Bumbo

Advantages: Great handy seat for carrying around
Disadvantages: Baby may not like it

...It was called a Bumbo Seat. By looking at it you would think it was made of hard plastic and I wondered what it was all about. The picture on the page showed a baby sitting on a beach. While chatting to friends, a few of them mentioned the bumbo seat that they had bought and how great they were for using when going to granny's house or to a friends house or even in your own for allowing the child to sit up more easily. I checked through the net ...
...difficult to explain. A bumbo is recommended from 4 months when a baby can hold their head up without support. The maximum weight the seat can hold is 10kg which works out roughly to about 22lbs. It can be used on any flat surface, but I have always used it on the floor as I was concerned that the baby may tip it. The seat is a round shape with 2 shaped holes on one side, which the legs fit through. One child who saw it in my house mentioned the ...

...I brought the Bumbo as my child is already out of her bouncy chair (she kept leaning right foward in it and nearly tipped the chair over). She also isn't keen on being held for long period of times and gets frustrated on the floor. A babysitter in a box

Advantages: Lightweight portable, very easy to clean
Disadvantages: Some babies just don't take to it!

The Bumbo Babysitter baby seat originates from South Africa and has taken the world by storm. Priced from around £20 - £25 it comes in four colours, blue, lime , aqua and yellow. ( other colours are available outside the UK) Distibuted in the UK by Grobag (www.grobag.com) it can also be bought in nursery shops across the UK. The Bumbo is made of fantasically soft foam material, almost rubber like, this makes it superbly easy to clean and it is ...
...15 months of age, the Bumbo is designed so that the babies own weight holds them in securely and comfortably, the seat base is sloped, giving good support to the lower back and holding baby in a good postural position. A few words of warning here, some babies absolutely hate ...

It's Bumbo Time!

Advantages: Cute, No assembly required
Disadvantages: Usefulness shortlived, Expensive

...when I spotted a pink bumbo and decided to put our baby in it "just for fun". That curiosity to see how our baby looked in the bumbo ended up costing us GBP29.00 as she looked so cute that we just had to buy it. The bumbo looks like a mini armchair seat for babies. It has a slightly raised back so that baby can lean against it and has some support, and has a center post between baby's legs, so it prevents baby from sliding out of the seat. It is ...
...and cutest thing about the Bumbo is that it comes in several candy colours. Ours is a very pretty powder pink for our baby girl. It's suitable only for babies who can hold their heads up themselves, which for our baby was about 4 months old. As a result, I found it a really useful thing to have around the house because by that age, our baby did not like to spend too much time lying on her back and preferred to sit up. It thus freed up some of my ...

Bumbo Baby Seat

Advantages: Great for babies ..
Disadvantages: .. if they like it!

The Bumbo baby seat was given to last Christmas as a present for my little boy. He was nearly 3 months old at the time, and after being recommended one by a friend, I suggested it to a family member who eventually got one for me. The Bumbo baby seat is designed to comfortably support and help a baby to sit in an upright position. The seat is helpful in gifting your young ones with their first experience as sitting up, like their Mami and Dadi. The ...
...marks. The texture of the Bumbo means that it is very easy to clean up any stains that it picks up. The Bumbo is recommended for babies from around 3 months up to 14 months, although I wouldn't have thought that a baby of that age would still use the Bumbo, or indeed even get into one. It is important that the bay's neck and back muscles have developed well enough before using the Bumbo, as they do need to be able to hold their head up to use it ...

Bumbo - A Safe and Different View of the World

Advantages: Portable, wipe clean, sturdy & safe.
Disadvantages: Honestly? I cannot think of one!

Bumbo is designed for babies who can support the weight of their own heads (sit up without their head falling suddenly back or forward). This is usually around 4 months but may be a little later for some. The Bumbo is designed to support baby sitting upright without any danger of them falling out. A high sturdy back rest aids comfort. This is a chair and so does not require power of any kind. It is of the upmost importance that the Bumbo is only ...
...considering the excellent quality. Bumbo is a very reputable name and used correctly is, in my opinion an essential baby item. I purchased a Bumbo for my second child after my first child developed a flat side to his head. This was mostly to do with the fact that babies of course spend most of their time lying down, and with the introduction of the "back to sleep" campaign spend even more times in this position. Being a first time mum I was happy ...

Mummys best friend - The Bumbo Baysitter

Advantages: Easy to clean, comfortable for baby, well designed
Disadvantages: Once baby has figured out how to get out of it you can no longer use it, quite expensive

When we first saw a Bumbo sitting in Mothercare we thought it was some sort of trendy potty. In fact it is a very clever baby seat which uses the baby's own weight to help them to sit up. The Bumbo comes in a variety of colours to suit baby boys and girls and are aimed at babies from about 4-6 months to 12 months, or when baby is able to wriggle out of it. Once baby can hold up his head then he is ready for the Bumbo. In my experience this differs ...
...buy it. The Bumbo is made out of a low density foam material so no sharp corners for baby to catch themselves on and it looks like a little armchair with leg holes. The seat area of the Bumbo is lower than the leg holes which keeps baby steady and the front guard between the legs keeps baby from sliding out of the front. The Bumbo itself is lightweight making it easy to take with you on trips to relatives or holidays near to home. It is very easy ...

As mentioned, it can be used as a mini-highchair, and if anything was spilled on it, you could literally just wipe it away. - For a younger child, it gave a little independance: it means that instead of being permanently laid down or reclined in a bouncer, a less steady child can be sitting up watching mum or siblings. - It is sold as being free from 'uncomfortable straps', ...
