Take me down to Paradise City...

Advantages: Fun, addictive, seriously playable, and the CARNAGE :)
Disadvantages: Can be difficult to get used to, easy to get lost in races

...until now that is. Burnout is one of a series of games that I previously had a severe dislike for. The graphics looked a little too plastic, the physics and handling weren't the best and to be honest the games were totally infuriating. It wasn't until Buggy came home from a days shopping last year, clutching a copy of Burnout : Takedown that I actually wondered whether I may have misjudged. I need to digress a bit here, but most of the point of ...
...great delight that I got Burnout Paradise. Burnout Paradise doesn't have a story to it. You're basically one guy in a big city and apart from gaining all the licences by winning races, there is no other real aim. The lack of story though doesn't really stop it from being a great game. To be honest, actually having some sort of story would have probably detracted from the whole thing, while the open ended format works quite well. So let's have a ...

Burnout Paradise Party Pack

Advantages: New vibrant visuals, party mode is fun, vehicle dynamics changed, Criterion constantly supporting game
Disadvantages: None!

...the first premium DLC for Burnout Paradise, the Party Pack. Is it another success for Criterion Games? Read on to find out... So, I went into the PlayStation Store to download the new Party Pack which cost me Ł7.99 (Note: For those who not downloaded Burnout Paradise from the Store or bought the retail version, get the Ultimate Box from retailers or the Ultimate Bundle download from the PlayStation Store). I then updated the game to version 1.6. ...

Burnout Paradise : The Ultimate Box

Advantages: Longetivity, Custom Playlist, Graphics, Cars
Disadvantages: Too Easy, No in game GPS, No Car Customisation

...A nice edition to Burnout Paradise : The Ultimate Box which wasn't previously in Burnout Paradise is the offline multiplayer lobby. Here you and seven others can take part in challenges with the winner of each challenge collecting the points. each player takes it in turn to complete the challenge. The challenges can be hand-picked or chosen at random by the computer, with a maximum of 8 challenges being allowed for each competition. Another nice ...
...own music playlist to the game. Although, I feel this should be included in alot more games than it currently is. ~Improvements~ One of the few downpoints to the game is that when your racing through the city you can set waypoints on the map. So when going at high-speed down minor roads it is very easy to get lost, which can be a little annoying. A compass at the top of the screen and vehicle indicators are used to show you which way to turn, but ...

Super racing game!

Advantages: great free roam abillity and loads to do - great online
Disadvantages: have to adjust to large city

Burnout Paradise is the most recent racing (and crashing) game in quite a long series of great, well structured arcade racing games. However this one certainly breaks away from the norm and enters into this new 'open-world gameplay', and in my opinion they have certainly succeeded and have created a massive 30km wide city perfectly suited to Burnout's nature - to race and crash! At first the city can be very overwhelming particularly if you were ...
...and aim to get the Burnout Licence and rove you are the best driver. The better your licence the better cars you can unlock and more challenges can be participated in. If you don't fancy doing any of these races then you can always roam around Paradise City and try and destroy some of those billboards (120) or crash gates (400), or even complete some of the famous stunt jumps (50). If that doesn't take your fancy you can try and set some time records ...

Burnout Paradise: ALMOST Paradise.

Advantages: Fun driving, Great online functions, Good DLC
Disadvantages: Navigation issues, frustrating at times

Ever since Burnout 2: Point of Impact, this series of games has been the manifestation of ten year old boy's dreams the world over. Fast cars, loud noises, and massive crashes. If that's the sort of thing that makes your eyes light up with glee, then the rest of this review is irrelevant - you have to buy this game. For the rest of you however, primeval thrill alone is probably not enough of a selling point, so let's have a look at what makes Burnout ...
...something a little different with Burnout 2. Gone were the simple "first to the line" mechanics of old and in their place came boost functions and mini games rewarding the most carnage achieved in a single crash. Burnout 3 introduced the idea of "takedowns", where you ram opponents off the road in spectacular fashion in order to win the race, or as the sole objective in certain game modes. These radical ideas, coupled with cars whose main purpose ...

Wheel Spinning into Paradise

Advantages: Fantastic game with plenty of places to explore and will last a long time
Disadvantages: Not many really

Burnout Paradise has expanded into a huge freeroaming cityof chaos. Burnout Paradise is similar to the previous titles which were full of action packed crashing, smashing and general wrecking of other peoples and your own car. The main new feature of Burnout Pardise not seen before is the huge freeroaming city you have to explore. It is much more immersive as you don't have to do a race go to a menu pick another event and repeat, you get to drive ...
...games. The city in Burnout paradise is absolutly massive it, it is divided into a number of different areas. In each area there are a number of billboards you have to smash through, super jumps you have to jump and clear and smash gates you have to smash through to get into new areas and find new shortcuts. These are great addittions to the game but it can get a bit frustrating when you have one or two of these to find and you spend hours scaroughing ...

Sweet!

Advantages: Fantastic city environment; seamless online; online co-op challenges; well balanced cars
Disadvantages: Some bad EA Trax; Sat Nav and map are hard to read.

Burnout Paradise is the best game in the series, and possibly the best arcade driving experience on any console. Pros: Fantastic city environment; seamless online; online co-op challenges; well balanced cars Cons: Some bad EA Trax; EA servers; online racing is dull; single player can become repetitive; Sat Nav and map are hard to read. No other game this year that has had me grinning from ear to ear so much. What Burnout Paradise's clever online ...

Burnout Paradise - Is it too realistic

Advantages: Good Graphics, good gameplay, good everything
Disadvantages: Twitchy controls in some instances

Burnout Paradise is the latest game from criterion games, they are now releasing many downloadable packs that increase the enjoyment of the game. These include a legendary cars pack that has recently been released a few weeks ago. This pack includes a car which has an uncanny resemblance to the DeLorean from back to the future and has the ability to hover around paradise city. Then there is a car which looks like the car from the original GhostBusters ...

Burnout Paradise, for the win!

Advantages: "Showtime" mode is awesome, amazing graphics, addictive, online function is awesome
Disadvantages: repetitive

Burnout Paradise is a brilliant game, in my opinion, and is definately worth getting on PS3. Its extreem graphics and gameplay exceed the expectations of many. Throughout the game you can either be tidy and calm or release your inner destructive side and desroy other cars with a simple click of L1 and R1 to release "showtime" mode. With free updates such as, day and night time cycles, motorbikes and a customisable in game sound track... not alot ...

Another element of fun is observing multiple mug shots of people when you anielate their car!! Burnout Pardise is definately a game to get hold of. ...

Burnout Paradise, I never knew paradise could get boring

Advantages: Addictive crash scenes, Good Graphics and Fast pace
Disadvantages: Games too long and too much of the same thing

Burnout Paradise Creators: EA, Criterion Games Players: 1 Network: Network Features, Network players 2-8 HDD Required: 13535KB When I first got the game, I loved it. After about two weeks of playing. I found it to be a bit boring, just racing around and time trials. What I did like about it was the crash scene and the jumps. I was disappointed when I found out I couldn't customise the car very much, I could only change the colours. I enjoyed ...
...fun like, finding all the burnout boards scatted about Paradise City or smashing through little yellow fences. I didn't play the online mode much as I never got around to finishing the game. And there for my car wasn't good enough for the player with there high speed cars. I had fun losing really badly. You can also have your own picture on your Burnout Licence, if you have the Playstation Eye (Camera) The graphics are good; the game play is good ...

One of the best games avaliable for the PS3

Advantages: Tonnes, check review
Disadvantages: The DJ can get a bit annoying, Lacking offline multiplayer

This is by far the best PS3 game I’ve played so far. There is a massive city to explore with nice graphics and hidden things to find everywhere. It is a very original game. I was first introduced to it at a party where we played it in teams, which was so much fun, we were in stitches. It has a very cool and original way to access each race, every set of traffic lights in the city is a different race. There are lots of achievements aspire to, ...
...have to do a handbrake turn into a parking spot between two parked cars and it gives you a percentage of how well you did) The music in the game is pretty good but its confusingly varied and the tracks are not shuffled. So every so often there is a really confusing section of classical music (like 30 tracks or so) You have to wait at certain parts of the game which is slightly annoying, like when you change car you have to wait for a crane to drop ...

Burnout Paradise The best game ever?

Advantages: Intense, Crash Scenes,Online MultiPlay
Disadvantages: Cannot MultiPlay on same machine,Addictive

This Game is Brilliant on free Roam the ma is so big you can roam for hours on end. There are a lot of cars you can unlock about 70 i think. When in a race it gets so intense your heart beats faster and faster you get such a buzz from this game and also when you perform stunts the graphics look even better the sound is awesome on surround sound system aswel especially when you crash,Makes you feel like you are in the crash. As other reviewers have ...

Burnout Paradise (Its Heaven)

Advantages: Fantastic Fun
Disadvantages: gets irritating when you crash at a finish line and loose the race

This is a fantastic game the moment i downloaded the demo from the playstation store i new i had to buy it. Well where can i start the objective of the game is to become an elite racer you have to race your way round the city completing different challenges. Races, marked man, road rage and burning routes. In all there are 75 cars to unlock. To own the Dj Atomica (radio station) will say that the car is roaming around the city then you take the car ...
