“Fit As A Butcher's Dog”

published 02/02/2007

helps my fussy dog eat his food, resonably priced

smells pretty awful

I have a Border collie that is bordering an anorexic, he sniffs his food and turns his nose up at it, so it's very hard to try and get him to eat. He is very skinny, although Border collie's are meant to be quite skinny; he's a little too skinny so I searched our local shop for some food that...

“Not Just A Load Of Old Tripe”

Helpful for enticing a fussy dog to eat

Tins are heavy to carry home and the food itself ...

Butchers tripe. I have 3 Border collies that just adore food. They are generally easy to feed but Butchers canned meat is definitely their favorite. I put just a little about a tablespoon full in with their dried food for a treat, I also add a bit more if I have a dog who's perhaps a little off...

Dogs love it

Stinks to high heaven

Just one of the many things I have realised in all my years of dog ownership is that smell plays an important part at meal time. That is to say that in my opinion, the smellier the dog food, the more my dogs are sure to love it. Step forward Butchers Tripe, made by Butchers Pet care, one of the...

DOGS ACTUALLY ENJOY IT

MAKES ME WANT TO PUKE

There was once an urban myth describing how unsavoury women routinely bought cans of dog food, in order to prepare cheap, nourishing, meals for their unsuspecting families. Presumably the colossal savings made from the weekly housekeeping budget were then blown on something frivolous from Ethel...

My dog will eat it in fact loves it

none

Now I hope that has caught your attention as that is what humans call the very best but the equivalent for my dog is Butchers tripe and water with an ice cube in it! If you buy Butchers dog food now your dog will be very happy with you as they are doing it at special offer. At the moment you can...

As I cannot, well I could, but really dont fancy tasting my dogs tinned food I didnt know which food was best to give him so in the past I have always bought different tins to see if he likes it or not. Stinky and the smell turns my stomach a bit!

As many of you know I spend alot of time with my best mate. She owns a beautiful poodle called Daisy and we share her! Sometimes she stays at my mates sometimes she stays with me and we let her decide that. Recently though she has been a little off colour, nothing we can put our finger on but she...

“The Smell of Death !”

published 20/03/2007

It looks rather meaty

stinks like hell!!

When i first went to pick up my furry mutt he was already eating this brand...along with sausages, crisps, eggs, chocolate and such like that the rather oversized ownner decided she was going to feed him....to my horror.....in my mind i said 'he's got another thing coming if he thinks im feeding...

Pongs a bit!

I bought my dog, a adult male border collie cross, a pack of six Butcher's Natural Nutrition canned dog food, simply because it was on 'Roll Back' special offer in my local Asda. I paid £2 for the six 400g cans. The manufacturer's statement on the packaging states that they have over 25 years of...

“A load of Tripe”

IT STINKS

I don't know if you've ever smelt tripe before but it really isn't nice. I cannot understand why anyone could want to inflict such a disgusting substance on anything particularly their prized pet. I admit that my dog wasn't put off by the smell and did at least try the food when put in front of...

“Dogs really do love it”

published 07/10/2000

My dogs thoroughly enjoy it

It does smell a bit

Yes, this has got to be one of the worst smelling dog foods ever, but it contains a large amount of tripe, so could you really expect anything else? It is a bit of a giveaway that this isn't going to smell of roses! I've got two dogs, a border collie and a collie cross and they both absolutely...

“It smells terrible”

published 05/10/2000

None as far as my pets were conscerned.

The dogs wouldn't eat it.

I have two dogs, a yorkshire terrier and a poodle. To be honest they are very choosy about what they will and won't eat. "Yes they are spoilt." Last week I thought I would try the canned variety of dog food, so bought Butcher's Tripe and Chicken. I served it up just as it came out of the tin, the...

my staffy would not eat anything. I tried every brand, she would eat for a couple of days and then leave it. I bought Butchers tripe about 3months ago and she just devours every mouthful. I like the consistency of the meat its nice and thick and she seems to enjoy all the flavours. Her coat is definately looking really healthy and she is putting on weight. The only complaint i have is that i cannot always see which flavour i am giving her as the tins all look the same.

i got my dog when he was a puppy, and his owner before me recommended this brand of dog food to me for when he was grown up. i bought a variety pack to give them a try, to see if he liked them. i can say he was very satified, when he polished off the entire bowl of food in one go! some good...

Dogs love it, good value

Smells!

Butchers Tripe dog food really has to be my dog's favourite food. She will eat absolutely anything but when the tripe mix comes out, her tail wags even more furiously than ever! She can smell the over-powering, pungent smell a mile away. While the smell is probably rather attractive to a dog, to...
