Advantages: Quality results, robust, reliable Disadvantages: Can clog with very large beans
This coffee mill has been in near daily use since 2004 when we found it in a homeware shop in Truro. At the time, the high price (as I thought at the time) concerned me, but a colleague and real coffee afficionado had been talking to me of the benefits of a burr mill for a number of weeks. It was expensive (£56) but I had £30 worth of tokens for a well known department store so bought it as I know the name is a good one.
The major advantage is that it is a burr mill. This is where the coffee is not in constant contact with blades so the grind is more even so no more of the mix of dust and bigger lumps. The grind is done by grinding 'plates' and after it is ground ...
