“Classy Cadbury Bournville”

published 11/07/2008

Mild dark chocolate taste

Like all chocolate - sugar

A review on Cadbury Bournville Now, dark chocolate is not a choice I often make but today I felt like a change. So, despite the rain, I set off to buy a Cadbury Bournville - my favourite variety. The small One Stop Shop near where I work didn't have any so I had to make my way to a small shop a...

Taste lasts longer

Is more bitter than milk choccy

Well it just wouldn’t be fair to write so many ops about chocolate and not mention plain chocolate as I have written about and will continue to write about milk chocolate and besides it looks as though this op will keep Newfloridian happy as he keeps mentioning that he prefers plain chocolate...

Rich and chocolately

Bars a little too big

Orange and chocolate is a genius combination, for that reason I'm a huge of a certain famous chocolate orange but have become a bit miffed lately at the cost of them and that the bar versions aren't quite the same, it should be the same chocolate inside but the taste doesn't quite hit the spot...

*gulp* 500 calories

You might have noticed there's not been a scrummy food review from me for a while. No, it's not the fact that I'm on my healthy eating kick (my consumption of chocolate hasn't significantly dropped) it's simply the fact that I've already written about every fat laden chocolate bar in existence...

~ ~ When I was a wee fella growing up in Scotland in the 50’s and 60’s there wasn’t nearly as much choice of choccy bars and sweeties as there is today. I can remember that my favourite chocolate bars back then were Mars Bars, Picnic, and Fry’s Chocolate Cream. (and...

SUITABLE FOR COOKING WITH

IT HAS AN AQUIRED TASTE

This bar of chocolate has been a long time favourite of mine, but sadly I haven’t given it a thought for a long time, so when my husband bought me some home the week-end, I knew I was in for a treat. ~~~~~~~ WHAT IS IT? ~~~~~~~ It’s Bournville chocolate of course, made by Cadbury. Still not sure...

***BOURNVILLE*** Bournville is a model village on the south side of Birmingham, best known for its connections with the Cadbury family and chocolate. This is where the Cadbury Bournville bar was named after. Cadbury Bournville is a bar of delicious plain dark chocolate, which has become popular...

Dark chocolate is not a favourite of mine to be totally honest with you. When looking for a sweet bar of something I always pick up either a milk chocolate or white above anything else. Very occasionally do I have the urge to nibble on some dark chocolate but none the less it does happen from...

"Bournville... ville as the wind blows..." - oops, sorry; I got a bit carried away there. Let's get on before I embarrass myself any further, eh? I should really have written this review last year, since 2008 marked the centenary of one of Cadbury's oldest chocolate brands, Bournville. Ironically...

a little pricey, lots of calories and fat

Bournville chocolate is dark chocolate at its best, in my view. It can be eaten by itself, it can be melted and used as a simple cake topping, or it can be incorporated into any recipe requiring cooking chocolate - see below for a couple of easy recipes. Bournville is produced by Cadbury's. It's...

My grandfather was a true Scotsman. He took salt with his porridge, hated spending money and had the sort of sweet tooth that keeps denture manufacturers in business. Very sophisticated, not too sickly

Expensive compared to milk chocolate

I have always been a fan of dark chocolate and have not yet found anything to beat Cadburys Bournville. I like most chocolate but milk can be a little sickly and white is simply awful because it just tastes like solidified sugar. Bournville on the other hand has a bitter-sweet quality about it...
