Advantages Advantages Cadbury's and good taste

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Lots of calories

Ok just a little reminder for any new comers, I am a chocoholic and especially Cadbury's chocolate so yes I am going to review another one of their products and its Chocolate Eclairs. One thing that bothers me though is well why do they call them éclairs as they do not resemble the cakes in one bit do they infact just the opposite as the cakes are soft and these are hard. They come in a oblong shaped bag which is mainly purple in colour with a touch of golden yellow in a sort of swirl shape just under then Cadbury's logo at the top of the page. The word Eclairs is written in white with a gold ... more

    Advantages Advantages Delicious taste.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Very chewy indeed.

--CADBURYS CHOCOLATE ECLAIRS--- There's no getting away from it, 'Cadburys Eclairs' are gorgeous! There is just something about the combination of ingredients that make them absolutely delicious and a definite favourite in my house.- The Cadburys brand has been around a while producing the creamiest chocolate ever with the melt in the mouth consistency. I love their chocolate. The first Cadbury shop was opened 1824 so it is a well established and well respected brand. Cadburys first introduced the chocolate éclair in the 1960's after acquiring it from rival confectioner James Pascall. The ... more

Advantages Advantages Delicious, and they kind of last

Disadvantages Disadvantages They last because they potentially break you teeth

mmm.... I'm eating one right now!! love these, the are like a little taste of nostalgia, inconveniently jawbreakingly brittle at times but just sooo good. ok so you get that i like them... for the novice, here's a bit about them. THE SWEET: A Toffee sweet, about the size and shape of a lemon sherbet with a small bit of chocolate in the centre. Each sweet comes individually wrapped in two forms. You can either buy them in a roll, in which case the roll is about the length of a pack of rolos and the sweets are circular affairs. Or you can buy them (much better) in a larger packet, in which each ... more

Advantages Advantages Individually wrapped, hard caramel to savour, smooth chocolate inside to create a silkier texture

Disadvantages Disadvantages None for me, just bad for teeth

I've got a sweet tooth that my dentist would 'tut' at, especially if she knew of my secret love for Cadbury Éclairs. The packaging of these has changed more recently to look a bit more 'classy' by using a thicker bag with a different feel to it, but it's still predominantly purple in colour. The name 'Cadbury Eclairs' is easy to recognise and they're widely available in most supermarkets and often convenience stores etc too. Inside the bag are the Eclairs, each individually wrapped so they're good for keeping track of how many you eat at home or taking out with you to share. It also means they ... more

Advantages Advantages Very tasty, you get both chocolate and caramel, not too expensive

Disadvantages Disadvantages They get stuck in your teeth - and could pull your fillings out

Crinkle, crinkle. Rustle. Schlurp! Schlurp! Ah the bloody thing has got stuck in my teeth! I do apologise, but I am currently munching my way through a bag of Cadbury's Chocolate Eclairs. (For the benefits of any confused people out there, I mean the chewy sweets and not the cream cakes - you know the ones; the gorgeously sticky caramel with the centre of Dairy Milk chocolate). I had to have them, I really did - they were calling to me from the shelves of my local Spar, and in a moment of weakness and low blood sugar, I gave in. And I still am giving in - these sweets are just so moreish ... more

    Advantages Advantages Its chocolate

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None for me

Anybody who loves chocolate and lives within the UK will agree that Cadburys chocolate is one of the best. This is no exception when it comes to their Chocolate Éclairs. As per usual there I was sitting at home wanting something for my sweet tooth. I thought about purchasing a packet of Galaxy Minstrels as I really fancied some. I decided to get off my lazy backside and take the 2 minute walk to my local shop. After having a little browse around, I realised they did not have the usual big bag of Minstrels that I usually buy, so I looked for an alternative. Well I'm no stranger to Cadburys ... more

Advantages Advantages Taste great, individually wrapped to ensure on their own or keep in my bag.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages High in fat/calories.

Cadburys Chocolate Éclairs are usually provided in a 165g bag (weight including wrappers) and are available from various stores and at varying prices. I purchased mine from Poundland so paid just £1.00 but I have seen these on offer for around £1.00 in Tesco and Asda on a couple of occasions. Each sweet contains 35 calories & 1.4g of fat so should be enjoyed in moderation as part of a healthy lifestyle but I often find it hard to avoid eating half a packet at a time so it's obviously easier said than done! A Cadburys Éclairs are chewy caramel with a milk chocolate centre and the chocolate is ... more

Advantages Advantages Tasty, chocolatey, chewy and not too many calories

Disadvantages Disadvantages Difficult to eat just one!

I will admit that I like chocolate, especially Cadbury's chocolate, but I wouldn't say I am a chocoholic! I enjoy the taste, but not to excess, and if I have a whole bar of Cadbury's chocolate it will take me days to eat it all. I will also admit that I love caramel, I always have done, right from being a small child caramel has tickled my taste buds and given the choice between a chocolate and a caramel I would pick the caramel first evey time even though I like both flavours. So to me the combination of caramel and chocolate is a great duo - the ideal balance of taste sensations and, if I am ... more

How can you get chocolate and caramel in a combination sweet without spoiling each of the flavours. Give up? Well how about Cadbury’s chocolate eclairs. I used to eat these until the proverbial cows came home. Well they came home in the case of Diabetes so I had to bid a fond farewell to one of my favourite sweeties. Well the other day I was extremely naughty and as I perused the offers stand at my local Asda, there before my very eyes was a bag of these delicious treats. I ummed and arrrd with myself for all of 2 seconds and before you could say blood sugar they were in my trolley. I felt ... more

Advantages Advantages Chocolate and toffee, such a great combination!...

Disadvantages Disadvantages Stick in your teeth, as they are very chewy, but other than that, none!

Until recently it was once in a blue moon that I bought chocolate eclairs. Now, it seems I'm going through a sweetie phase. My sugar cravings have been going through the roof of late, and although I have at times been able to quash the need for treats, and shut up my inner chocolate lover, I know that no time soon will I be able to turn down one of these. I have a packet right now tucked away in a drawer, and although I've gone and done it now, that is to say screwed up any plan I may have had prior to the buying of them to pass on the treats, and have one of those oh so healthy detox months a ... more
