    Advantages Advantages Tasty chocolate snack

Disadvantages Disadvantages You'll want another one!

Freddo I love this chocolate. 10p pure unadulterated chocolate delight, and something which, until I had children, I knew nothing about, and had never even heard of. What a Philistine! **Freddo's packet!** Freddo is sold in a little tear open purple packet. It's Cadbury's so it would be purple! Of course, there is a big picture of freddo on the front and a sign advertising the fact that he costs only 10p (I can't remember him ever being another price- has he not heard of inflation?) A total and absolute bargain! There is the usual ingredients and nutritional information on the back. **All ... more

    Advantages Advantages small and yummy

Disadvantages Disadvantages small and not as cheap as he used to be

Cadbury’s Freddo Frog Freddo the Frog has been around for a good number of years now and is something that I might treat Jack to if he has been a good boy. I used to eat these bars of chocolate when I was younger and I felt the main draw when I got old enough to have my own money was the fact that they were a very affordable 10 pence per bar! Bargain. Nowadays however Freddo doesn’t seem as good value as he once was costing 17 pence per bar. The bar itself is fairly small although no where on the small wrapper can I see that they have said exactly how much the Frog weights in at. Freddo Frog ... more

    Advantages Advantages Cheap Cadbury's chocolate

    Disadvantages Disadvantages aimed at children

Now then if chocolate companies are going to be so as unscrupulous as to specially target children then there are two things they need to do. Firstly they need to give it some sort of psuedo “health benefit” or make it very small so the product seems less unhealthy. Secondly they need to make it cheap. There are two reasons for cheapness: Number One so that children can afford to buy said treat with their pocket money and Number Two so that when children are harassing their mothers for sweets in the supermarket they can hold up product and their mothers will give in because it is so cheap ... more

    Advantages Advantages Chocolate, cheap, yummy

Disadvantages Disadvantages I've never seen one of the big bags in the picture :(

Freddos is one of the best inventions since sliced bread. They are mouth-watering cheap, small bits of chocolate that just leaves you wanting more. Cadburys makes Freddos. I'm sure near enough all of you will have tried and tasted Cadburys chocolate and will know how yummy it is. It is certainly my number 1 chocolate maker. Packaging ~~ Freddos come in a purple wrapper 10cm in height and 4cm in width. This means they are quite small and so can fit in your pocket easily, though be careful as it may melt. This has happened to me. I was very upset when I found my freddo all melted L. On the top ... more

Advantages Advantages Per gram cheaper than most other chocolates, reduces tendancy to over eat chocolate

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not as good as galaxy but pretty close

A lot of people will have at least seen this product in their local paper shop or at a sports club as a child although not all of them will have had the pleasure to actually taste this delicious snack, freddo has been around for a long time but in my opinion the brand still stands the test of time as I will go on to verify. Packaging Depending what part of the world you are from will determine exactly how the packing looks, in the uk the freddo brand is the instantly recognisible purple that tells you its a cadburies product and in the uk version freddo frog holds the writting "freddo" which ... more

Advantages Advantages Proper Cadbury milk chocolate, cheap, fewer calories than a full size bar

Disadvantages Disadvantages You may be left wanting more

Description The Freddo bar is a frog shaped bar made of proper Cadbury chocolate, about half the size of a standard Dairy Milk bar. There is a lot of competition between different chocolate manufacturers, but my favourite normal brand chocolate is Cadburys. I find Galaxy isn’t ‘chocolately’ enough (I’m not a white chocolate fan) and I don’t find Nestle chocolate is as smooth. I remember spending my pocket money on Freddos in the local post office as a kid. The packaging is Cadbury purple with a cartoon frog on the front and a large ‘15p’ label, so the price is guaranteed everywhere. They are ... more

Freddos have been around for a good few years. The 2 kinds you get in the Uk are Milk Chocolate and Caramel. I remeber the Caramel ones used to be called Taz bars and they had a picture of the cartoon character taz on the front. You can get the different kinds of these on certain websites, 1 is www.cybercandy.co.uk So what is a Freddo Bar? Freddos are manufactured by Cadbury's and the chocolate is Dairy Milk chocolate. It is a small piece of Chocolate in the shape of a frog. It is flat on 1 side and raised a bit on the other with the chocolate sculpted out for eyes and such. The dairy Milk ... more

Advantages Advantages Cute, mouth size chocolate, Cadbury quality

Disadvantages Disadvantages Mouthful sized, an ever increasing price

Loving chocolate leads people into buying more and more of the brown stuff, one of the modern classics in Britain was the Cadbury's Freddo which was a rather simple and childish bar of chocolate. Made of simple milk chocolate you know what to expect, it's Cadbury's doing what they do best and using milk chocolate to make a chocolate bar, except there's something special in the world of Freddo. Of course lets start with the packaging, a shiny foil wrapper with a picture of a happy green frog holding the word “Freddo” in front of a Cadbury purple background. The price on the bottom (now 15p ... more

    Advantages Advantages Cheap & cheerful

Disadvantages Disadvantages Tastes like 10p worth

You know how it is. You have a notion for something sweet. Something chocolatey. Something caramelly. And being a tight-fisted sweaty sock, something cheap. Step (or should that be hop) forward FREDDO! In case you don't know, Freddo is a frog. But fear not dear reader, I haven't gone all French and developed a penchant for munching on amphibians' legs, Freddo is made by Cadburys. What does that tell you? It tells you that it's a racing certainty that it's made from chocolate. And indeed it is. Freddo is a frog shaped chocolate bar with a caramel filling. Freddo come sealed in a foil wrapp...oh ... more

    Advantages Advantages cheap, widely available

Disadvantages Disadvantages easy to eat a few, Freddo's not much to look at

BACKGROUND It is widely accepted that the inventor of the modern day icon Freddo frog was Harry Melbourne of MacRobertson's of Australia in 1930. It is believed MacRobertson's chose a frog as a mouse would scare women and children. Freddo Frogs became part of the Cadbury product range in 1967, when MacRobertson's were sold to Cadbury. Freddo Frogs are primarily available as solid milk fingers (a caramel version is also available) for 15p - marked on the wrapper. They used to be 10p! Apparently, there are lots of different varieties in Australia. The wrapper is different from the photo on Ciao ... more
