    There wasn't any other game on the XBox 360 I was looking forward to as much as Call of Duty 3. It was a solid launch title for the 360, and a firm multiplayer favourite still even now, so surely Call of Duty 3 should have stormed in and taken the crown as the 360's best first person shooter, but it hasn't. I should point out that CoD3 is actually by a different developer, Treyarch. They made the PS2 and Gamecube versions of Call of Duty (Finest Hour and Big Red One), and while they were good, they weren't anything near as good as the PC games by Infinity Ward (who also made CoD2 on 360).     A very brief setting note The allies have landed in Normandy, they have fought there way off the beaches and are heading inland towards Paris and the liberation of the French people. Its July 19th 1944, and the battle for St Lo is about to begin.... I may as well get this out the way, so please take this into consideration.     Don't Mention The War War, huh, what is it good for? Err, making computer games perhaps? The Hun are back and in need of slaughtering again. In the third outing of Activision's excellent Call of Duty series. So we're in familiar territory. This time the liberation of Paris is the goal. You play four different soldiers on the side of the British, Canadian, French. Each playing a role in the same scenario. The action is in the first person as usual.     My dad received an xbox 360 (yes, he's truly a kid at heart!) from my Mother at Christmas and bought COD3. One of the most significant aspects you notice is the atmosphere of the game/scene, etc - it is brilliant! The explosions, firing, soldier's actions and debris are so realistic. A bit frightening you may think - how on earth will I succeed through all this on my own. But not to worry, help is at hand! As a player/soldier, you're part of a team/troop who also battle at the same time as yourself. This is particularly beneficial on harder stages, when the battle is much more unpredictable ... more

    I got my copy of COD3 on the day it was released and I am still playing it today. I must have played over 500 hours COD3 on my PC. It is the finest WW2 game I have ever played, you play as several different soldiers all across Europe. The story is vey engaging and you definitely get the feeling that you're participating in a huge war, with some stunning visuals. The first mission includes the most intense battle in any FPS I have played, with the new AI firing from everywhere and using gravestones as cover.     After purchasing an Xbox 360 in early 2006, the games that had been released at launch were starting to float around on second-hand market stalls and online shops for as little as £20. At this price I purchased Call of Duty 2. It raised my expectations for any future World War II shooting games. Unfortunately, Call of Duty 3 - its successor- failed to live up to those expectations.     When I bought my Xbox 360, this was one of the games I got it for, and I am very glad I did, with incredible graphics and next-gen control, this is the best war game ever and with a great storyline.     call of duty 3 is as everyone who has ever play a ww2 game will tell you one of the best its 1944 and the allies are against the germans in france you play as the amerians,the british sas ( the best of course ) and the polish though 14 intense levels but to be honest them 14 levels sounds great but they go over over quite quick. the graphics are just fantastic with bullets whizzing over your head and mud flying up in your face you really get a sense of war and if you have a HDTV your in for a treat its mind blowing. achivision has really hit the nail on the head with the graphics and the sound ... more
